    Enjoyed this fam... I love to hear about people's vision, work and expectations. I'm so happy for you and I don't even know you bro. I guess it's because of your humble demeanor. And yes it is very important to feel the right vibe from people that wants to work with you, and confirm with God the people you need to work with.

      1 year update, his place has done well. Like you said, getting barbers is difficult. He worked 12 hour days for about 4 months and then got his first barber. He didn't work out, but he did find 4 really great guys, and things have been going great. Your statement about finding the right people is on point. They have to vibe. After getting a couple of not so great people, we decided to have peer interviews. We are all about keeping our guys happy! I wish you the best, and thank you for being an inspiration to all of us!

    You look like your doing well. Advice I was given that I try to follow is, work on the idea that 10% of the people who say they will show, will actually do it. Don’t do mates rates, Everyone pays. Offer extra services once your clients are established. Offer products you can profit on but don’t push them, make people wanna be in your place as much as you.
    If you can get paid to do something you love, you will never work another day in your life

    I live in Los Angeles, can you open a barbershop without being a barber?

    • @livsbarbershop9029
      @livsbarbershop9029  Před 4 lety +1

      You can, however finding good barbers is a difficult task. I think in any business someone decides to open, you should definitely know how to operate that business on your own. There might come a time where it’s only the business owner in the business working. You’re going to need to be able hold it down by yourself. I’m going through that right now. If I didn’t know how to cut hair, I would be in big trouble.

      As long as she has a Master Barber’s License, you should be good. If you want to work in there, you will need an apprentice license, which is only a written exam. And it’s not that hard to attain. But at least one master have to be in the shop at all times to avoid fines if inspectors come around.

      once he gets barbers in his shop, he will be making passive income without cutting a hair himself

    • @furiousbarber9169
      @furiousbarber9169 Před 2 lety

      @@offperkz2454 Nope, more money is made behind the chair. The barbers will pay the rent, insurance, taxes, upkeep, and more. Any money left is chump change. The only way a shop makes money is to have 8 or more chairs running 6 days a week. If the rent is high, even more chairs.

    • @offperkz2454
      @offperkz2454 Před 2 lety

      @@furiousbarber9169 i’m estimating he has about 10 or so chairs in his shop. if each and every one of those chairs are occupied and paying booth rent of 300 a week, that’s 2700 a week ( not including his chair ). with that type of income you don’t need to cut hair yourself, but you can to make even more

    • @offperkz2454
      @offperkz2454 Před 2 lety

      and ofc you’d still have to deduct the expenses from that pay but even after you deduct the expense he should still be making 1000 a week AT LEAST. and maybe 1,700 at most
