Nope, your time travel machine has malfunctioned. To catch up contact Stewie ~ complete confidence
Thank you. I’ll show myself out. ❤❤❤
Breathtaking in so many ways. Thanks for sharing. Be safe ❤🇮🇸
I visited Iceland in September and fell head-over-heels with it. Thanks for sharing these images. Iceland is truly a mind-boggling place.
Absolutely fascinating. Obviously it is not for the local people who live there, but I find volcanos spectacular. As long as nobody is injured may this stunning show of nature continue.💯❤️❤️🌋🌋🔥👏👏👏👏👏
It's been an interesting few weeks for me because we've recently just returned home from Reykjavík. I was a bit concerned that I might be labelled a disaster tourist, but was encouraged to go by Ivar & one or two others & pleased that we did. We had a great time & love Iceland, Icelandic history, the people & the culture, but the fate of Grindavík wasn't far from our minds. I hope everything is OK for Grindavík & the people who have been evacuated from the area.
Glad to hear you had a good trip! It seems everybody here is safe, but we'll see through the night where the lava stream heads. If south, then it will blow straight into the - thankfully abandoned - town of Grindavík :(
@@ivargu It was fantastic trip Ivar, we really enjoyed it & will be back. Let's hope that the lava flows aren't too destructive, but it is truly humbling to see just how fast it started & how powerful it really is.
My first taste of Icelandic hot dogs was in Grindavik in 1988, I was in the Navy and lived not far from all this for 18 months.
@ivargu I pray it doesn't head south.
Hope everyone remains safe. For historical posterity you may want to correct the date in your opening title to '2023'.
Hauntingly beautiful scenery.
Sublime scene.. with sublime music too. Many thanks.
Grindavik is being evacuated. Road to the north is closed and blocked by lava. People are advised to stay clear of the roads, so evacuees can get out quickly and safely
I left Reykjavik on Thursday night and it had just snowed a few hours before, but what amazes me is how normal the locals act.
They go about their day like nothing is happening, although at night you can really see the volcanic display and during the day it is very foggy in certain areas.
I was in Iraq scheduled to come home on leave when a volcano in Iceland erupted, it screwed up air travel in most of Europe. I spent almost two weeks waiting to get home, which didn't affect my leave time. So I spent an extra two weeks away from my unit. I really like volcano's because of that...
Wow for 30 miles away that’s spectacular
Only 23 1/2 miles away
Wow!
The first thing I heard this morning on the news was the eruption; I immediately thought of you and hoped you/your family are OK.
Thank you for posting this video; it is 'awesome' in the literally sense.
Very cool.
How are they going to tax it's emissions?
Ívar, these images are breathtaking. I cannot even imagine getting that background with some northern lights during a clear night’s sky.
I really hope it doesn’t cause any more harm to the properties in the surrounding areas and the owners can return safely soon.
thank you
My husband and I are Americans who visited Iceland last year. We know from your other videos that you are most likely safe, but are so sorry to see this. I’m sure you’re concerned about some friends and loved ones - and it’s a very hard thing to see…. We hope that you and the ones you care about are all right.
It looks like a Scene from Lord of the Rings 😲
Great fotage 🥳👍🏻
Feel so sorry for the entire country
God please help all
We need You
maybe a chance for volcano eruption footage with northern lights in the sky!
Wow, that's insane! I have a little perspective since I was there on the Reykjanes Peninsula last year. It's a scary sight for anyone in the area, and prayers to everyone's safety.
THAT sends shivers down my spine!!!
Way too cls for me.
That's truly frightening. I hope you and your family are going to be OK and the rest of the people in this area.
Thank you. Yes, we are safe and the town nearby was evacuated. This does not pose a direct risk to the city of Reykjavík.
Incredible. Hoping it stays away from Grindavík 🙏
Don't know if this is good or bad. Great view though. Thanks for posting.
Beautiful view, horrible news, some beautiful things happens from tough times, everything ll be fine and great, breakdown into pieces build powerful💪💪 in no time better than
Did we time travel or what? Why does it say 2024?
Am up, has it finally happen?
Wow, this is next year?
In video text as says eruption started 12/18/2024. Wait what?
Hell from a distance.
Pray for Iceland.
Sauron's wrath will be terrible and his vengeance will be swift.
0:02 It appears to have split the space-time continuum…
At the foot of Mt. Doom....where the one ring was forged....
38 km is not so far away concerning a volcano.
No more watching from the sidelines. Looks like Icelanders are going to have to fight this volcano now. Best of luck.
My mother told me
someday I would buy
a galley with good oars
It does gives me LOTR vibes...
That is not Hagafell. That is Mordor!
Where's the kaboom?
Wow 2024...now we predict the future...Marty get the DeLorean..
Þetta kallar maður skjót viðbrögð
Oh Dear, hope you are all safe from hereon. Volcanoes all over are very active worldwide
Dec 18 2024................. wow its from the future
The eruption is one thing and not to be sneezed at.
Which leaves me with one big question. I thought the city was supposed to be evacuated yet there are people everywhere still in the city.
What constitutes an evacuation over there?
Oh, to clarify. The small town of Grindavík, which is right on the fissure itself, was fully evacuated. The city of Reykjavík (where this is shot from) is in no danger.
Crazy how they got this footage from the future.
These drones nowadays do amazing stuff ;)
The fires of Mount Doom
December 18, 2024? Seriously.
A guy opens a window and says: Sauron from Mordor is back.
We are watching a year into the future... 9r maybe just a typo at.the beginn8ng with the date!
2023
Different view.....better to stay further away They can change directions anytime.
"Against all the evil that Hell can conjure, all the wickedness that mankind can produce, we will send unto them... only you. Rip and tear, until it is done."
😂😂😂😂
2024????
Time to get the f outta there!
Never mind the ominous red glow far away on the horizon... What's going on with that spooky flashing doorway light in the middle of the screen here? 0:26 🤨
None of us really knows, but dogs bark at that building, and somehow... instinctively, we know to teach our kids to never look straight at it.
I've seen Stranger Things...that is not the volcano.
Has this disrupted geothermal power production?
No not yet at least. If it becomes a prolonged eruption then it can threaten some of the power and heating infrastructure, but that is far away as of now given how the force of the eruption has receded since last night.
dooms day has come
Mordor
Goodbye tax dollars
It’s on the bbc now, much better professional coverage thanks
Sharing a border with Mordor must be tough...
My thoughts exactly.
Just don't mess with The Witcher studios.
