    Goodness me, this is a game changer! No more tediously doing harmonies voice by voice and then having to shift the notes up or down when you realise you ended up almost playing the same part twice between violins 1 and 2. The only downside I can think of is that I would then have to go back to the recorded parts and stretch the notes to make them legato, as you cannot play legato when you do chords. But still.... Awesome tutorial, thanks!

    Another tutorial... time for buttery biscuits and green tea! By the way, I could not follow the first method you mentioned at the very beginning. You played the harmony on a piano and had it all in one track and then looked like as you kept on playing and recording, it was recording only the line you wanted into each respective track. How did you do that?

    Waiting for there to be a properly formatted version for Ableton (especially with version 11 releasing soon with improved MPE functionality). Are there any challenges associated with their interface that makes Divisimate challenging to integrate?

    it seems to me that the only way you can get this polyphonic effect is if you use a mini keyboard as far as the wind controller goes the effect would be just unison am I correct here?

    i am confused whether to leave my instruments on monophonic or polyphonic mode though

    • @DoryVideo
      @DoryVideo  Před rokem +1

      Leave them in mono if you want to use legato transitions otherwise you can leave them in polyphonic mode if you just want to ‘pad’ some ensembles out on your keyboard.

  • @tosvus
    @tosvus Před 2 lety +1

    Very cool. In the Perform mode, I take it these could be assigned to a shortcut key or something like a stream deck? (I don't have an ipad) I am new to composing and have no background in it, so I wonder if it is a common method to use the same keys for many instruments at the same time, and also if the automation should not be different for different instruments? Also, and I may have missed it, but it says up to 32 - are those midi channels? So I take it you manually set up a cubase template with matching instruments on each channel? Can you add more?

    • @DoryVideo
      @DoryVideo  Před 2 lety +1

      The software has 32 virtual
      MIDI poi let’s buy each port has 16 channels so there’s plenty of scope here. Yes, templates are key here in your DAW or you’ll spend more time connecting than playing!

    I have pretty bad ADD but i play guitar and drums fairly decent so like if i'm just sitting on my intruments i can write fairly well, all this midi editing we have to do like you are saying literally kills my creative workflow and often i lose my train of thought and my ideas kinda fizzle out.. I just got this now since the updated to 1.4, it seems really good, just messing around with their presets. I need to work on my template better for having it mixed. i'm using CSS, CSB , spitfire studio woodwinds, and project sam percussion True Strike

    So there is a limit of 32 tracks that can use divisimate or did I misunderstand? What happens if you have one articulation per midi track ( a lot of tracks)? Could you have a legato setup with 32 tracks, a staccato setup with 32, etc. ? Thank you

    • @DoryVideo
      @DoryVideo  Před rokem

      Divisimate has 32 midi outputs, you can sign any output to any instrument/midi Chanel in your daw.

    Hello,,,,,I was watching your demo and I want to ask you,,,,in other to have the Divisimate,then I have to have the virtual instruments also ?? and does it have to be from AUDIO MODELING.CO or it can be any mono instrument ??

    • @DoryVideo
      @DoryVideo  Před 3 lety

      Divisimate will work with ANY DAW and ANY set of virtual instruments, even the most simple. It’s the perfect tool for splitting instruments across multiple tracks and notes. You don’t need any particular instrument to play it with. It’s even pretty cool with virtual synthesisers

    • @joeandrew5861
      @joeandrew5861 Před 3 lety +1

      Thank you for replying,,,,I have one more question if you don't mine,,,I down loaded the template for Jazz Band,,,,if I download the Divisimate will it bring the saxes,,the trumpets and the trombones or if not where can I find this 5 saxes 4 trombones and 4 trumpets ??

    • @DoryVideo
      @DoryVideo  Před 3 lety

      You have to use virtual instruments for those, such as the SWAM products. Divisimate only redirects MIDI information is has no sounds at all. As I said before it works with any virtual instrument or DAW.

    • @joeandrew5861
      @joeandrew5861 Před 3 lety +1

      How are you again Dory,,,hope you're having a great day thanks for replying,,,,I tried with other brass section like STRAIGHT AHEAD JAZZ HORNS from the company ImpactSoundWorks,,,all of the virtual saxes trumpets and trombones are mono and it does not work with Divisimate,,,it does not devide the sections in different tracks,,,,I wrote to tech support about questions that I have and they take too long in responding,,,,sorry to bother you but you seem to know about all this things,,,,I like to know if when you have 4 voices or 5 voices in Divisimate or what ever voices is been prepare,,,,if when you play sometimes like 2 notes or 3 notes,,,,if those notes are distribute to different parts,,,and also I would like to know if the trumpets,,trombones and saxes have all the expressions that horns can have ??

    • @DoryVideo
      @DoryVideo  Před 3 lety

      Ok you’re setting it up all wrong. Each instrument needs to have its own track on its own divisimate midi input. Then you have to set up Divisimate so that each note in your chord is sent to a different (or combination of) midi outputs corresponding to the instruments you are using. Divisimate works PERFECTLY with monophonic instruments. Google me and email me and we can get this sorted.
