  • Areas of Child Development With High Individual Variability:
    - Speech and Language Development
    - Fine Motor Skills
    - Cognitive skills
    - Adaptive (Self - Help) Development
    - Play Skills
    - Sensory Development
Which area are you worried about currently? Comment, let's talk 📩
A milestone or assessment is a guide. Not all kids reach all the developmental skills at the exact given age.
As professionals we also don't test with a 100% passing criteria (only a 75%).
As a certified Speech Language Pathologist I see neurodiverse & typically developing kids everyday. Individual variability in one or two areas of development is seen more often than not. And many kids reach these milestones when they are ready.
So parents, do not let yourself be scared by all the list of skills a child should achieve. But use it as a reference, trust in ur child's natural pace and continue nurturing their development.

Mam my kid 4 and half years old. For the past 2 months she has gone very adamant and stubborn. She has lost patience to talk for her needs. If she feels hungry or sleepy, she throws tantrums. She cries inconsolable and screams. How to handle this. Also she was happy when her grandparents were there. After they went, her adamancy has gone very high. She is not ready to do anything. If we tell that she would be rewarded for her Goodwork, she tells she does not need that reward

Hi it seems like she is in a stressful state. Try low demand parenting. Use routines, focus on doing 1-2 basic tasks a day. U said she's not sitting at school to see if there's anything causing her more stress in school. Many times when school or teachers are more demanding children want to act out more at home. Spend time bonding, making her laugh, giving massages, doing sensory play and use play based teaching.
