    Hello mam, saw your video and it’s very informative. My child is 3 years old and does not speak any words yet. Some babbling is there. We are taking speech therapy from last 3 months and his speech therapist says he knows a lot of words but doesn’t speak and she doesn’t know how to get him speaking. I don’t know if he is hyperlexic, from your video looks he isn’t since he can make 3-4letter words with alphabets and also points the object what he wrote. He loves his story books and can make out if I skip saying few difficult words from the story like suddenly etc. seems he has memorised where they appear
    In the book. He tries to imitate actions but can’t imitate words or sounds. Seems he isn’t able to move his mouth as required

    My son ( 7 yr 3 months) reading skills in English are good he can read long passages with difficult words for his age, His ability to read the complex words( e.g. fundamental, development) with phonics is good, but he will not comprehend what he read. He can only understand simple sentences (e.g. what he is doing? They are dancing , When you will come back from school ? etc. He gets lost when too many sentences are given together. Spacing between sentence should be 2-3 line for his understanding. Naturally , he is more interested in watching photos more than reading from the book. Audio and Video memory is Excellent. Verbal echolalia to great extent was there till 6 years but now almost zero. Loud noise sensitivity has reduced very much now. His motor skills are quite per the age. He has difficulty in answering different types of question , Pronoun/preposition reversal is there many times. He is improving after we started taking SLP classes for last 5 months, but still his communication and social skills are behind his age by 2-2.5 years. please share pointers to increase his comprehension and communication skills.

      Mam. R u doing anything for reducing verbal echolalia

    • @atulkotwal
      @atulkotwal Před 2 měsíci

      We worked on his understanding of daily routine words, daily routine objects, taught more about around surrounding in very simplified language. We have to increase his understanding by using simple words repeatedly. Ask him very simple question, once his basic understanding increased his echolalia reduced and this created positive feedback in his understanding. Now he has zero echolalia. If he doesn't understand anything now then either he says that I am understanding or keeps quiet.

      There's a lot to cover dhara. But u have to MODEL more. Because what u r aiming for is NATURAL LANGUAGE, not promoted or learned language. This develops through modelling, play based and interest based speech therapy. Either u can take help from an SLP who focuses on this. Or I'll try to make a video on this soon. Meanwhile u can work on these skills: czcams.com/video/NQHwLsm05MA/video.htmlsi=Tf6X_DVLP3XvHBc_

    How to improve abstract thoughts mam.❤

    • @PriankaEvangelineSLP
      @PriankaEvangelineSLP  Před 2 měsíci

      Abstract language ? There are few pre requisite language skills before we take abstract words as goals. But it works by targeting one concept at a time and exposing it in multiple contexts. Will try to make a video on this is many parents like this comment.
