The psychographics are actually much more broad and refer to why a player plays the game, not necessarily how they play. Johnnys play to express themselves, Timmys play for the experience, and spikes play to prove themselves. The combo, big creatures, efficient play styles are just one way each psychographic can manifest in a player. Maro has a great episode about them on his podcast

@@loxeggcheese If a person is playing to prove themselves and ofcourse this need for proving could be measured in many different levels, but at most, that desire and need to prove that they are good at the game, could manifest fixations towards winning, and which in the case of opposite could bring out "unsportsmanlike" behaviors. (I'm not saying every person who wants to prove that they are good or wants to win would display these kind of behaviors, but if they did, I feel like there is a logical pattern to it and they could be considered Spikes according to your definition. -Not every Spike is a sore loser, but most of sore losers are probably Spikes 😅

I’d like to say I am a Timmy/Johnny player. I like playing big powerful things, but I like to have stuff with great synergies and have some creative wincons in my deck.

I'm in the middle of Johnny and Timmy, a bit biased torwards Johnny. I love cards that are intresting and have cool combos, but are also flavorful to the thing they are portraying. Shelob, Child of Ungoliant is one of my favorite cards in MTG
Timmy, all the way. I play with a guy named Ben, and nothing compares to the feeling I get when I say "Ben 10" as I swing. He hates it. I'll never stop.
I'm a Johnny/Spike. Efficiency is a great (because I'm poor) and can seriously trip up a a combo dependant deck or someone who relies on building up their mana, but a great combo is just so satisfying!
I'm a mix between a Johnny and a Timmy as I love playing huge splashy spells but i love finding fun and interesting ways to cheat them into play or create some sort of synergy with them
I think I'm somewhere between Timmy and Spike, more of a lean towards Timmy tbh. I tend to obsess over creatures but also how well they can work together. My first (and favorite) deck, a mono-black deck I affectionately named Halloween Party, is mostly creatures, but in pairs instead of full playsets. I love the veriety but I still want the utility of them to be more pronounced, hence why I didn't go with 1 of each. They all have different abilities but work well together I think. Sort of a jack of all trades situation. It's not great for every situation, but it is good for any situation (if that makes any sense lol). But like I said, I lean more towards Timmy. My main goal was to make a deck with a bunch of different creatures that was fun to play with, so I did just that. And I threw in a handful of spells that generate food tokens too. It is a party after all lol!
I’m a Johnny in every game I play. In call of duty I love using meme guns to get stupid kills even if my team loses. In war thunder and RuneScape I love using the worst weapons to get kills (or die) using the quirkiest weapons because it’s more fun than always using the meta weapons
I like finding funny cards and finding the weirdest win cons, I just made a deck with mizzix the izmafnus and you would think that it's about casting big flashy X cost cards, but really the deck is about about drawing cards and playing cards that want card draw, then drawing into vecnas hand and swinging for commander damage cause I have 30 cards in hand and he's unblockable 😅
I just enjoy magic. Theres plenty of cool things to do. I played amulet titan for 2 years in modern, which is a johnny and timmy deck to play. I play bug midrange in legacy at the moment which is a very spike deck to play. If a deck looks fun on any of these axis, ill play it :)
I think your missing 2 more types of people (white, red) White are the "its just about hanging out and having fun with the group win, loss, or draw" types. -Often playing "Group Hug" style of play -Often the first to volunteer as the target of bad effect for the indecisive player. -Often helping nooks Red are the "I am the Chaos and the Drama! Just want to watch the world burn" types. -Often having board or hand disrupting cards that blow up all lands, discard hands, and blow up the field and play them just for fun. Even when they are winning. -Oftentimes are the bully of the table, piling on the pain to open/easy targets. "Oh you finally got that one blue source you been getting screwed over not having, let's blow it up". -Will counter dumb small things and let other major things go just to make the table blow up. Still need ideas for the names for these type.
I don’t even think these are supposed to describe every player, just certain kinds of players. I’d argue that decks fall into these categories more than players
Johnny and Timmy. I hold winning in low regard but I prefer to have fun with a great combo or a big flashy move. However if I find a combo boring I won't use it like infinite. I think it's more impressive to pull off a huge move without infinite. I will also avoid a fun combo or flashy move if I pull it off to many times

My Zombieless Zombie deck that generates tonnes of zombie tokens and Mad Machinations deck that is filled with combo artifact pieces, but few to none tutors tells me i'm a Jenny (female Johnny)
Currently playing Omnitell in timeless. It’s combo but with big spells. Probably not the most efficient deck, but my win rate is above 50% so I’m fine.
I'm like Johnny/Vorthos personally... though I did cut my teeth on my friend's artifact deck that was so powerful he had to dismantle it, and the first deck I remember building had a playset of Fog Bank and was just Mono Blue No Fun For You... ...am I the problem...? 😅

Its all about life gainand grtting counters from thise life gains and gaining power aling with protective cards like norns annex and maze of ith. While I have cards that give my creaturs hex proof and cards the lrevent playing cards during my turn. Atraxa, Praetors voice is my commander. Inhabe a bunch of board wopes and will ad an Armageddon. Get it ready for Cedh!
