Where did you get your stand from? I really like how wide it is, we have a fairly narrow one and it works but this looks like it'd be much easier. Also what is the best way you find to tie them into the front so they don't pull their heads out of the chain

Somebody made the stand homemade. I bought it used from a co-worker. It is very heavy steel; I usually use the skidloader to lift it. I particularly like the head piece, it moves up and down. The width is nice too. I don't like that there is no hyrdaulic to raise and lower it, so lifting the animals on and off is very back breaking! With the small breeds like my Shetlands, I actually use a halter with a lead and secure it to the pole of the headpiece. For all other breeds, their head is big enough to stay put with the attached chain.

Those sharp things can get into the eyes too. Should shave hairs from face? I’d love to know😊

The professionals do shear the face with the electric shears, but I am not comfortable with it. Yes, especially around the eyes I will hand trim.

You can trim the cheeks with an electric shears, but it would be tricky to trim around their eyes, etc. with any precision. I prefer a hand scissors.

Sheep are outdoor animals that lay in the dirt, get covered in cockleburs, get rained on, etc. When you see animals at a county fair, they are groomed extra special that would not normally be done.

@@ShearGoodnessWe raised sheep on our farm and they never ever looked as unkept as these sheep do. Disgusting treatment of defenseless animals.
