- From stretching to shearing with love in an open field.
I have also created another video where I explain how to use hand-held shears and create this beuatiful blanket, here is the link to it.

The way you interact with those alpacas is intuitive. You strike me as a woman who not only knows what they're thinking, but _cares_ about what they're thinking, too. This is evident in the way they respond to you. They're extremely receptive to your affection. Instant sub.
This is one of the most amazing things I've seen! I love the relationship and trust you've built with them, and the care you take. I am simply gob-smacked that you do it this way with those shears... beautiful beautiful! (FYI, arrived here because I was watching another alpaca shepherdess' videos...)
Thank you so much Jillaine. It has been a long road and has taken me years to understand what to do. Alpacas are not the easiest of animals. They like to make it difficult - Bless them all!
Beautiful. Heart warming to see the trust they have developed, and connection you have with them. Love these wonderful sensitive special creatures 💗 Thank you for sharing 😍
oh wow their fleece is absolutely beautiful! They are clearly happy with the way you are doing that. Lovely video!
I just love how calm the animal is and what a caring way that you do this.
That’s amazing how patiently this beautiful alpaca sits while this Lady clips . They are so adorable
That is so beautiful. I love the way he cuddles you.
I can't tell you how happy this made me feel to watch! You have given me so much hope that one day I too can have animals and live in harmony with them. No killing or trauma, rather a symbiotic relationship based on love and respect.
Love the way it is done in such relaxed and gentle manner:)
My knees would be killing me after this. ❤️
I can imagine the wool gets heavy for Topaz to carry around. She's beautiful.
This is wholesome and satisfying to watch.
This was so great to see. I love the Shearing videos of Katie and her wife. This is otherworldly
When you trust your hairstylist... Relaxing moment
I love how the other ones show up like, "Gurl, aren't you done yet"?
Wow you really got to know what you are doing with scissors that big. Good thing the animal is so relaxed and that lady has a talent for what she is doing.
Thank you!
You can just see and feel the love ♥️
Roughly shearing animals is so cruel and unnecessary. So nice to see shearing done gently. I'm sure the Alpacas really appreciate it. 😊😊😊😊😊
Nice and easy approach. Interesting to watch. Oceanside, California
Wow. Beautiful.
Those look good for pillow filling.
Ah, so thats how you peel an alpaca
What a pretty red/brown fleece! Bet it carded up nice and spun out beautifully!
Absolutely lovely!
Props to you kind owner!
Thank you!
Such a beautiful bond ❤️such sweet Alpacas .. I love your loving friendship with them
It's possible to train em an show them sheering isent to be feared. My Oma's fave llama Bamby will run into the sheer barn when my Oma opens it because she learned she's going to get treats after. She's only ever had one llama she's ever had to somewhat restrain.
What a sweet Animal.
Please tell me you weave this into yarn. What a gorgeous color!
My goodness! Bit speechless. Beautiful to watch and amazing in terms of the bond. I’ve just got two alpacas… they’re full of tude and we love that. Hopefully one day we can be like this! Great vid!
Wow, thank you so much!
I'm happy that the animal doesn't have to be stretched
Such a beautiful video...truly heartwarming to watch. You have worked so hard with them. Means even more having met them all. Such characters ❤
omg.. that was so wholesome & adorable.. 💕
(big animal fan here.. 🙋🏼♀️ .. squirrels are usually my thing tho.. 🐿)
👋😃 nice to meet ya... i'll have to check out more, on these lil pies, later...
The trust of this animal with you is beautiful. What do you do with the coat.?
Thank you very much. I keep the best fleeces for 2 to 3 years and I send them to a mill to have then processed into yarn. Unfortunately it is a very small quantity and it is hard to make anything out of it. Not economically viable. A great shame - such a beautiful product. A lot of it goes to waste, neck, belly, legs. Also when the animals start getting older, the quality of the fleece decreases. It could be used to make duvets etc but i don't have enough animals and mills are not interested in small quantities of lesser quality.

Alpaca is so cute!
@@alpacas-trainingatliberty1562 how many alpacas do you have?
The best shearing video ever..💚
Thank you so much! there will be more
That’s brilliant & so sweet of you.❤️
While I do understand the need to restrain animals to get the shearing done quickly, I did feel bad for the sheep I first saw all stretched out. If you have the time for it, this looks like a better option.
The manual cutter seems so much less stressful and certainly less loud noise for the animal,(and person) than the electric sheers.
Good job. 👍 I hand shear my animals too in the spring. Cats and dogs, by fall, the nice fur is ready for winter. ✂️
Such talent. I would be scared to cut her. I guess everything comes easy with practice. Well done.
Topaz is a beautiful color.
Thanks for sharing......🙏👠👠
Wonderful video
Lovely
Everyone should do this like this only
Takes too long!!
It's not going to work for everyone because not everyone has the time to do it and not every animal will sit this quietly to let you do it
Amazing 😄
im glad that it trusts you and you're very gentle.
Great skills
Love is plucking your skin 🤣♥️💐
THIS IS HOW IT'S DONE!!
When you have an animal this cooperative, yes
Subhan allah
They are! Thank you
💗
so polite!
you get higher quality alpaca wool I think, the alpaca gets to feel the salon service.
Wow
❤
Shear them, just as gentle, takes three minutes. Hug, kiss, pet, pat as much as you wish.
She did just fine.
👍👍👍🌹👍
😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
I am a vegan but I am pro-wool shearing if it's no restraint. I love alpaca wool.
Same here! Yeah they have to be sheared around the eyes or wool blindness happens. The wool rubs their corneas, causes infection then blindness. Vegan love😘
Even if they need to be restrained you'd have to be a moron to be against shearing since it's part of responsible care
Thank you! yes she does! A lucky girl!
I wanna have experience just like what you do, it's so funny almost done and ranaway...
Cute animal
That alpaca was smiling. It was so cute. 😊😊😊😊😊
But don't they get cold without their coats?
it is the summer. it has time to grow back before the cold months. about 1cm a month. They are way too hot in the summer and once they understand what we do and are able to cope with the process, they do appreciate it when their coat comes off.
I can't get over how long and thin their necks are after removing their fur/wool?/blanket? You know what I mean. Like a Dr. Suess character
Do you raise them for their fleece?
I'm sure it his has been asked before but on average how long does one of these shearing sessions take?
It takes over one hour for one animal from 'head to toe'
@@alpacas-trainingatliberty1562 You are amazing. She has such a sweet demeanor.
😀😘😀😘
What about using an electric shaver?
i used to in the past when i was tying them up. I want them to feel safe and enjoy the experience. The electric shears are noisy and fast. I am in no hurry. If she was bored or scared, she would leave as she did eventually. There is always another time. It does not have to be finished in one sitting.
why not use electric shears This alpaca has such patience sit as you cut.. truly amazing. 👏👏👏
Because it is an aboslute pleasure to shear by hands. It is for her as much as it is for myself. The slow movement of the shears and the intimacy that builds up between her and me is all what it is about. It is not about taking the fleece off her back. It is about the relationship and the trust that is created from being together in such a way. Alpacas are not naturally prone to touch each other, not even their babies, but when they experience a loving touch, they know to recognise it. Topaz is happy or she would not let me so close to her and interact in such a personable way if she was experiencing any discomfort or fear within herself. So the fact she sits still for me only comes from a place of peace and joy. Therefore the exercise is not about the time it takes but about enjoying the moment and making it last. I hope that makes sense.
😃😃😃
I don't understand why you didn't completely cut the animal ?! .
I am really surprised to see why you are not using cutting machine?
With scissors, although a little ink, but Jane's good, or electric razor it! If you use an electric razor, it will work very fast
Alpacas are related to sheep right
They are camelids. They are related to camels and llamas
alpaca dairy?
:)
Nepal no mouch have I'm seand
Those were some big ass ✂️
