I agree. I’ve seen quite a few videos with people roughing their animals (sheep) and nicking the crap out of them. These guys took care of their animals the way you’re supposed to.

That is so cool putting them on a board. I never saw them shear the alpacas. We have the fiber tours in my area which is sheep, rabbits, goats, alpac & llamas. They have people show how they wash, dye, dry, comb out, & finally spin the fur to make clothes.

alpaca fleece grows back to its full length about a year after shearing, so they need to be shorn during late spring to keep them cool during the summer :)
doesn't look like there getting any fleece to make sweaters from, just buckets of wool clumps and a bad hair cut for the alpaca, go watch some more steering videos, plenty of people out there doing it right
