  • Henry VIII was obsessed with having a male heir to succeed him onto the throne. This quest would lead him to even executing his second wife Anne Boleyn so he could then marry his third wife Jane Seymour. But Jane had a very tragic demise following giving birth inside of Hampton Court Palace. She gave the King his male heir in the form of Edward VI, but as mentioned Jane died. If she had not then it’s likely that Henry would not have become the King who is remembered for having 6 wives, but instead Henry would claim he was in mourning after Jane’s death but he quickly then began to search for another wife, because nothing says moving on like searching for another wife weeks after the tragic loss of your third wife. But what did Jane Seymour die from and what was the story of her postmortem and embalming process?

I've had 3 c-sections. How surreal to know I would have died in childbirth if not for modern medicine. 😢

It wouldn't surprise me if there were cuts made to her even if it was more like a modern day episiotomy than a c-section.

Jane may have retained part of the placenta.

If she had had a Caesarian she would have died immediately.

Not always..some women lived on in very poor health because the uterus was not sewn closed. Awful..

I doubt the baby would've lasted through six days of labor, honestly.

Toxicology report on those organs wouldn't go amiss.

I like your vids, but the thumbnails are always grossly exaggerated. In this case, disturbing, in others horrific, when neither is the truth. Just stop it with the clickbait!

Do you mean the title? All I can see of the thumbnail is two portraits of her and Henry side-by-side. I feel like I'm missing something haha

Probably would have been even if Jane had survived!

@@rhyfelwrDuwYes, society was very status oriented at the time and wealthy women didn't breast feed , they hired wet nurses.
