It’s been almost five years since we asked if you find the human meals on Hannibal appetizing, and honestly, it’s one of those questions that deserves being reupped now that everyone’s on keto and protein is pricey. But could eating human brains destroy your own? Kyle digs into cannibalism (AND WHY YOU SHOULD NOT DO IT) on this episode of Because Science, airing for the first time on the Because Science Channel. - Věda a technologie
This is like your ex still posting pictures of y'all together after a breakup
how do we get everyone over to the new channel?
Chris C
Hypnotise them.
Maybe to you.

"Should you eat brains ?"
This episode was recorded quite awhile before anyone even knew of this virus.
R/whooosh
My brain: Hey, let's watch this video while eating lunch!
...
I think I might have a spongy brain myself -.-
Short answer: No.
Slightly longer answer: *_HELL_* no!
Office response: NOOOOOOOO! NO GOD PLEASE NO!
more slightly longer answer: You could but you shouldn't
Even though this is older video, it still shows it's better with Kyle!
Really???
How is a new video, old? :O
@@FusionC6 [ORIGINAL AIR DATE: 6/25/2015]
I feel like I've seen this somewhere before 👀
Hmmm... Yes
Joker video
The fact that our brain is 2% of our bodyweight and uses up 20% of our energy is really fascinating information
Fuck off youtube
I don't want to see you everywhere I go
Not really, going by sheer anatomy it's perfectly expectable. The brain uses more cell to cell chemical and electric communications than any other part of the body, with the obvious purpose of making it function.
What were you doing in Sadhguru channel?
@@kunalpradhan9225 he's also there
Wtf everywhere I go
Ok, he’s definitely a supervillain. Now he wants to eat brains?!?!?
This was an early warning sign.
This was filmed in 2015
He doesn´t... zombies in his underground secred base does...
2:53 Spongiform Encephalopathy for Your Fusiform Gyrus sounds like either a great name for a post-rock band, or the titlecard for an episode of Red Meat.
I hope you're paying Kyle for this.
Didnt they just reupload this a few weeks ago?
Last week...then took it down after I'd gone through it...then posted a different one.
This is just getting sad
2nd unfortunately its a re upload of an old video. Check his new channel out search for Kyle hill.
see how much better it is to have a host presenting the information? far better than a music beat with floating text
Short answer: yes. IT GIVES YOU KNOWLEDGE!!
Day 9th of my job closing i have geared up by boarding my house and windows against the zombie apocalypse, i think this is a solid investment.
This will be forever known henceforth as "The Flank of Steve" episode.
I feel like an idiot. I've always thought he has learned to write backwards on the glass. But of course they just mirror the video. Stupid me.
He can write with both hands, so that's impressive
How do you mean? Even if the video is flipped the script would still have to have the characters reversed to show up normally to us.
@@timjohnson506 Kyle is right handed only.
@@AzureKnight2 What are you asking? If your not familiar with the process, look up "lightboard" on youtube and it will explain.
@@JasonWW2000 Oh, I see what's going on. Some of the wording confused me. Thanks for recommending the lightboard search, it really helped!
4:04 You didn't get to the good part. It is believed (by some) that consuming human hearts and brains of their enemies gives them their virility and strength.
I have a (dumb) question.
If you would have a cup with infinite water, and you would spill it. How long would it take for it to drown the world?
Depends...... how big is the cup?
@@captaincompound5703 Let's say, normal size (200ml)
@@thevengefulone3948 i have a dumber question, would the earths gravitational pull be strong enough to hold that much water? Better get Kyle 🤣
Probably decades if not centuries. Water flowing through a 3" diameter "portal" would just be too small to be noticable for a very long time.
Well that mr. Pickle reference was great
I miss old BS like this ❤
Because you're Batman?
This video should be 3 seconds shorter, or 64:37 longer.
3 seconds* shorter is what I'm guessing you meant.

this must be a well done prank on me, just 1 day ago I spend hours on researching "Kuru" (right after a disappointing round of DayZ ofc)... and now this.
Quarantined for a few days and here comes the brain eating videos
How many old vids do they have left? Watching a ship sink here
yup. definately done.
why watch a re-uploads?
Hey random question. Could you do a video on what it would take to live below the sea? I know there is things like humidity and all kind of issues of living in a close system. I just feel with all the submarine tech we have it would be feasible. I just always wondered.
I just woke up and there is "How to build... everything" on TV and was like: Whaaaaaat?! What Kyle is doing there?! LOL
This was the origin of the zombie virus in Dead Island which is covered in a quality video called "Why You Would Probably Survive Dead Island's Zombie Apocalypse" by Wow Such Gaming. It delves into the Kuru virus, how it could evolve into a zombie virus, the virus;s real world origins and fictional origins and why you would probably survive Dead Island. It's a really good video, one that I'd recommend and like to see a response to from both Because Science and Wow Such Gaming
Certain nutrients in brains are actually really beneficial to our own, Phosphatidylserine for example is an essential phospholipid and part of our cell membrane and was collected from cow and pigbrains back in the day, now its produced from soya lecitin and you should definitely supplement with it, really good for adhd patients as well! Cerebrolysin on the other hand is still a drug harvested from brains.
Kyle has got style!
That’s is cool thanks for letting me know
Left over footage from the Joker's mental disease episode?
It's now 3 Weeks since K.L.B.S.
Kyle left Because Science.
Still reruns.
hey, I've watched this episode before, maybe on Nerdist
^^ I highly recommend brains.
0:22 OK. Going to stop you here. "One man's toxic waste is another man's potpourri."
Disgust in the very sense of the word is learning to see something we have been trained to dislike. Certainly there could be physical elements that automatically cause us to retch yet on the whole if we are brought up to accept whatever it is that someone ELSE sees as disgusting - we could certainly see as perfectly normal.
Take a weird example. Troma videos. Most of them to the average eye are in fact disgusting. Yet the trope is used so often that it is considered a valid comedy outlet and amusing to see when it is used in their films.
So - eating brains would not be disgusting if our parents and society trained us to believe - it was not - but in fact a vital part of everyday life.
What? No, I've totally never thought of doing that
Why not go then for the bone marrow? It takes up roughly 5% of the bodies mass. True, it would be more difficult to extract all the bone marrow.
I would rather eat bone marrow than brains. Even though I used to consume both from time to time.
Great show, Kyle!
Actually Chianti doesn't pair well with human liver. In the book he actually said Amarone and not Chianti. Amarone would be a much better fit for liver, and a such shows off his sophistication and further strengthens just how psycho he is - making sure to pair the liver with the proper wine. The movie execs just thought that people wouldn’t know what amarone was, so they switched it out to a wine that everyone would have heard of.
omg that was perfect at the end
Isn't reposting some of the old vids messing up with Kyle's actual views? Or is it on purpose?
we love you. we miss seeing your face more. i have been binging as much as possible because the circumstances the world is in rn make me panic. i'm grateful we have you here with us, we're all in it together.

51 minutes after the video is live the bell 🔔 decides to tell me about it .
I remember your video on the strength of a Monster Hunter.
You used a flesh-based Great Sword instead of, y'know... A FULLY METAL one, so you actually undersold the strength of a Monster Hunter. Also, I'm pretty sure they're basically immortal.
I f-in love the old video's
Now when someone said's "he be lookin' like a snack", I will feel personally attacked.
.....and even if you avoid that there is also the fact that brains are mostly fat and cholesterol and horrifically unhealthy to eat on their own
So like are they going to replace Kyle or will they just post old shorts?
I’m from Papua New Guinea and this is like the first time I’m hearing about cannibalism in png. Not that I’m saying it’s not true, I’m just saying that This type of stuff was done like a hundred years ago in very remote places in our country.
Didn't he get his own channel?
Yes.
Kyle talked about the kuru outbreak in the video diagnosing the possible medical condition of the joker
I don't get it, weren't you supposed to upload never before seen videos?
Where are those?
What movie is the flesh-winged angels scene at 0:36 from?
Hannibal I think
Yes
eating cow brains with plain white rice and lentil soup, while watching this. feeling like Hannibal Lecter right now.
Wait did Kyle leave because science???? When did this happen???? I have to know
1:15 Kyle thought to be Vsauce2
Hey I've got a topic for you to research and put out a video on. I was watching Interstellar and the time dilation scene where they went down on the surface of the planet near the black hole got me to thinking; What would happen if you looked at someone experiencing extreme time dilation through a telescope from a point of no dilation or vice-versa? Would it look like they were moving at super fast forward or what?

What causes some members of the tribes to develop the disease after just some weeks whereas others take decades? Answer: the ones who're more resistant to these prions carry a special gene that makes them more resistant to the disease. After these genes were discovered, it was found that... surprise!!! Up to 20% of human population carries that gene, all around the world. Thus, our ancestors most likely had cannibalism as an important part of either their diet or funerary rites, and so there was selective pressure leading to the widespread dissemination of these genes.
that was great
How do you increase human matabolism
A new virus shows up. Now brains seem appetizing?
I got my eye on you, Zombie man!

Great. Now I'm hungry.
If prions are proteins and proteins denaturate in high temp, woudn't cooking the brain before eating solve this issue?
...asking for a friend, of course.
Apparently not. Scientists incinerated a prion-infected rat brain, dissolved the ash in solution, and injected it into another rat. The injected rat developed a prion disease.
HOLY SHOOT HES BACK!!!
