In 100 years teleportation theory could be taught to schoolchildren by their AI tutors/nannies. Sounds weird, but remember that up until the latter part of the 19th century doctors thought it was laughable that washing their hands before treating a patient would made any difference in the patients health. Now hand washing is basic hygiene for everyone.
While I admit the story is pretty flimsy, I don't think "How come we don't have teleportation tech now?" is a valid rebuttal. If there was any truth to the horrific effects of the test (sailors dismembered, fused with the ship's steel, etc), it may have been reason enough for the military to deem the whole thing too unreliable and too dangerous to pursue further. Teleporting Naval ships wouldn't be of much use in a battle if it kills have the crew in the process..
They would use it. Waging war for the world right now is limited almost entirely because of logistics and moving things around.

My thought is, why would someone say that sailors had become infused into the steel of the ship? What would make an ordinary say something like that unless they witnessed it. Remember, this was before sci-fi movies. So, they either had an imaginative mind or they really witnessed it.

Wasn't there actual pictures of sailors infused with the metal on the uss eldridge? I remember seeing them and showing them to my family and they agreed on believing in it and that they had also seen these pictures before and were psyched that I was researching it. However this was years ago and I can no longer find those horrific pictures that were in black and white

The sky is observed constantly by countless organizations. Any aliens sighted by conspiracy rheorists would definitely be observed by astronomers cataloging asteroids or even satellite companies.

One thing about the Philadelphia Experiment that never made sense to me is that every version of this story I have heard begins by claiming the intention was to make ships radar invisible to protect them from German U-boats. Uboats like all WWII submarines track other ships by sonar. They used sound to track the ships, not radar. Making it radar invisible or even sight invisible would not make it safe from sonar.
Isn't SONAR used to detect things underwater like other submarines? Idk how useful SONAR would be on a ship that is on the surface of the water.

Sonar is used under water by submarines and it can detect other sounds under water, including the propellers of ships like the Eldridge which has its propulsion propellers below the waterline of the ship. Which was my point.
If the Philadelphia experiment was intended to make surface ships invisible to radar, it would still be vulnerable to submarines that did not rely on radar, but on sonar. In other words, the German U-boats would still be able to detect the enemy ships through sonar, even if the ship was able to block its radar image.
Yet, it is heavily implied in the beginning of this video that the experiment was designed to make surface ships invisible to radar because german submarines were sinking so many of them, which would make no sense because submarines used sonar, not radar.
The point was to make the ship âinvisibleâ to very destructive mines and torpedoes, which were triggered by/attracted to the magnetic field of the giant steel hulls of these ships

Well, it got pruned by TVA to the end of time. Then the ship and it's crew was killed by mysterious cloud.
Yes, they did teleport a ship. I personally knew someone who was involved with it. They said after performing the experiment, men were fused with the ship, and even hundreds of miles away into concrete. The experiment was a total mess. But, they did teleport the ship. The person that this information came from is long dead now, and when they died (natural causes) there was an unidentified person outside their hospital room. This person left after it was confirmed they were dead.
Take of it as you will, but this is the true story of what I experienced.

The everyday definition refers to a hypothesis, however a "theory" in science is a framework strongly supported by evidence that explains an observed phenomena. I was hoping for a story about the navy creating a few of the same exact ship to seem like it was in multiple places with a short period of time.
If something like that would have been possible in 1943 then I am sure the scientists would have made the technology quite usable by now but as we all know that teleportation is still in its theory stage.

Personally i believe the 1st UFO was found by dig in 1920, i believe that in 1950 we had our first UFO crash, with 4 aliens, 1 dead. I believe that before 1961 they had interviewed the grey aliens. I wrote a RPG adventure based on the Philadelphia experiment, except in my story the USS Eldridge was teleported out of earth's gravity well and never came back. It would be discovered by the players in the game 200 years later on an asteroid. It would later serve as the basis for FTL in a space opera sci fi story.

The experiment was about degaussing the steel hull of a ship to reduce the number of ships being lost in the Atlantic. The magnetic
mines would not experience the attraction to the hull. Some torpedoes also had triggers that sensed the magnetic field of a ships hull.
