I'm from the UK & have always wondered if there are people in the USA actually called "Bates" who run Motels & would they use their Surname on Sign?, Yeah!, You're Right, I have watched far too many American Movies/Films!.
Fabulous video! Thanks for sharing! Once time travel is available for the general public, I'll be visiting all these spots in the 40s, 50s and 60s. The pink lamp and National Geographic. And the rose wingback corner chair. This is all killing me. :)
First there was the Oregon Trail and then it was Route 66; two historic American roads connecting east and west that are now basically defunct. Today the only remnants of the Oregon Trail are various deeply rutted spots from the wagon wheels and I can't help but wonder if eventually all that will exist of Route 66, a road millions traveled, will be cement remnants and a few abandoned buildings.
Enjoying this while sitting in my Chesterfield leather recliner in Germany with a cool coke. CZcams and channels like these rock!
Thanks
Keep the culture alive.
That looks so cool at night! I would love to sit outside the motel room having a few cold beers. Those lights. Love it!
David Whiting it was cool. A lot of mesquites though
the lit up neon is for sure very beautiful
I randomly found this a thoroughly your presentation. Love viewing vintage Americana the way you did this.
Wes Edwards thank you

Tucumcari, NM Always one of my favorite NM towns! Thanks!!
So many abandoned properties, its a shame really.
I didn't know Johnny Depp had his own CZcams channel
What would you estimate the cost one might spend on hotels/motels on a Route 66 ride
M.J. Vazquez depends. Range from 50-100 dollars a night.
