Nice! Love this area. The paths around the big falls by Gillette are covered in large flake Mica
When you rip the bark off around the whole tree its called Gurdling it , you Gurdle the tree and what happens is when you rip the bark off you usually rip with it the Cambium layer which brings all the water and nutrients up and down the tree so if you rip it all off around a tree you cut it off from being able to feed itself

Hey have you ever done any gold panning or anything like that in NH ? I live in NH and have been looking around talking with people and I hear this Genteman Jeff Orchards I believe his name is has a book on local places. I have a place I have been tipped off to but its deep in the White Mtns and gona take some dedication to get out there . I have been out there but over packed so much by the time I got my metal detector and everything there I was to tired to use it and got blisters the size of half dollars cuz I didnt brake my new boots in good enough so it was a bust but now Im looking for someone to give it a real solid try with but have noone dedicated enough to go with no expectations ya kno . Do you look for Gems and stuff like that to? I want to so bad but Im color blind and that makes it kinda hard for me but thats somthing I am very interested in to
I have looked but I have never panned, would you guys watch if I looked for gemstones and gold as well?

I found a little rusty looking pocket in a piece of chert. Didn't know it was garnet.
