I went fishing on a party boat out of Ft Bragg several times. We used sanddabs for bait. We caught many of them so there would be bait for all. We let the baited line lie on the bottom loose to load up all the hooks. We were bringing in 6 at a time. They had sea lice on their gills which we removed and threw back. You looked like you were having fun. Good video.
That dish of sanddabs looks awesome!!!! I've cooked a few of them, and they are so good, there like the candy fish of the ocean! Thanks for the great video!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Wow those sabiki rigs were working out....I was wondering what a sand dab was looks like a little flounder.... That crunch was awesome and I know I'd enjoy them cooked like that.....
I think those are parasitic isopods not sure, I believe they enter in the gill plate of fish and attach to to tongue. Any way great videos enjoy your content.
Nice I'm leaving Monterey now came here for the sand dabs. I did well but only a few rock sole. I live in sac so this is a journey. I tried the bodega Bay about a week ago and could not even get a bite
My boat is 25' but I don't know if it's worth the gas to go all the way to the fairlawns that's a pretty far trip. I'm looking into investing into a 4 stroke this 2 stroke is killing me on gas
Looks so good
Thank you

Yes they are so good hot and crunchy on the outside. Thank you.
Looks delicious. Can I please have your recipe for those peppers in the jar?
Thank you. Recipe for pepper sauce are fresh chili peppers, garlics, salt, msg, and fresh cilantros.
The saltwater crappie. Those tast so good.
They were good. Thank you so much.
Kinda looks like a small flounder
I really enjoy your videos! Can you please tell me what to look for when trying to locate them and can you catch them from the shore , pier or jetty?
Sorry but these are deep water fish so you cannot catch them from shore. We’re fishing in 150 ft of water. Thank you.
we catch a TON in redondo beach pier, but never that size, definitely need to go offshore for the good ones
Nice catch, just wondering how many hook allowed for ? How or where you look up the tide and wave ? Thx lot
I hear people use up to 8 and 10. We only had 5 on ours. I use Windfinder.com.
@@fishingaddict5638 thx 🙏
Is there any bag limit for sanddad? Nice catch!
No limit.
What type of bottom are you looking for?
Sandy and flat.

Another user commented and says they are sea lice and the sand dabs they were catching had them on all of the fish too. But thank you very much.
What's the hook size you are using?
Size 6 and 8. They both caught them just fine.
How deep were you fishing for them?
We were fishing 150-170 feet deep.
How deep
We were in 200 to 250 feet.

I don’t know how big your boat is but a lot of the charters are going to farallons islands to get the big soles. Just south of the islands.

I see and yea that would be a costly ride. Good luck to you.
