    I went fishing on a party boat out of Ft Bragg several times. We used sanddabs for bait. We caught many of them so there would be bait for all. We let the baited line lie on the bottom loose to load up all the hooks. We were bringing in 6 at a time. They had sea lice on their gills which we removed and threw back. You looked like you were having fun. Good video.

      Oh wow sounds like you had fun catching them too. Thanks for confirming those little things were sea lice. Thank you so much for stopping by.

    I really enjoy your videos! Can you please tell me what to look for when trying to locate them and can you catch them from the shore , pier or jetty?

    • @fishingaddict5638
      @fishingaddict5638  Před 2 lety

      Sorry but these are deep water fish so you cannot catch them from shore. We’re fishing in 150 ft of water. Thank you.

    I think those are parasitic isopods not sure, I believe they enter in the gill plate of fish and attach to to tongue. Any way great videos enjoy your content.

      Another user commented and says they are sea lice and the sand dabs they were catching had them on all of the fish too. But thank you very much.

      Nice I'm leaving Monterey now came here for the sand dabs. I did well but only a few rock sole. I live in sac so this is a journey. I tried the bodega Bay about a week ago and could not even get a bite

    • @fishingaddict5638
      @fishingaddict5638  Před rokem

      I don’t know how big your boat is but a lot of the charters are going to farallons islands to get the big soles. Just south of the islands.

    • @kevinhill3549
      @kevinhill3549 Před rokem

      My boat is 25' but I don't know if it's worth the gas to go all the way to the fairlawns that's a pretty far trip. I'm looking into investing into a 4 stroke this 2 stroke is killing me on gas
