SUGGESTION: When you go shad fishing, bring a stringer. After each catch... Immediately cut the gills, and put your caught shad on the stringer... This is the best way to enhance the flacor of your shad. The flesh will taste much cleaner & less fishy if you follow this one simple rule. Works with other oily fish too.
Glad to see you on with another video. Great as usual. Glad I was able to visit ya' ll while i was back there. I really enjoyed the visit with some good food and i Look forward to my next visit when i go back. Good luck fishing.......

Hey Junior, can you catch shad in the Black River as well? What river was it did you catch these shad at? I know folks down in Augusta, North Augusta and Aiken area catch them in the Savanah River below the old lock and damn in Augusta.
i caught these at st stephens down past the fish hatchery off of highway 52 in the diversion canal. they dont run in heavy schools in black river like they do up the canals below the dams. i use to catch some in black river back when i set shad nets years ago but not lots.
