  • We review the top of the range Harley-Davidson Ultra Limited 114.
We give you our unbiased, honest opinion about this beautiful touring bike.
We put it through it's paces on the motorway (freeway), duel carriageways, town and country roads, to assess how good this motorcycle truly is.
We look at the engine, brakes, handling, suspension, rake and trail, geometry, gears, styling, luggage capacity, infotainment system, wind protection, and more! Everything you need to know to make an informed purchase decision.
This example came in the lovely two-tone river rock grey and black, with plenty of shiny chrome!
We give you the specs, price and fuel economy too, plus we answer subscribers questions.
The drone footage was filmed by the Drone Pilot Luke Gale. His website: www.l-uke.com/drone

I seem to need a new bike every four years or so and the reason I still ride a Harley instead of a Yamaha, Kawi, Indian or Honda is that you can feel the superior workmanship and quality in every turn of the road. As far as no good for short trips ... man, that top box holds all my gear for work and I get a complement from the guys and the _ladies_ at work at least two or three times a month. Thanks for reviewing my bike. You may have just earned a T-shirt sale. :)
PS: The kick stand ... yeah, just put it in gear, roll forward to the stop, set it down and all's good.

    • @MrDarcy-OlMan
      @MrDarcy-OlMan  Před 3 lety +1

Yes good points! I was thinking the top box is more useful than the side ones space wise. It’s so nice to be able to get a helmet (or two ) locked away. We’ve got some great t-shirt designs on our store. We added two more today also.

I'm 6 foot,220lbs. I own the 107ci 2018 electra glide ultra classic{couch}. I put on about 35k miles a year-so far this year 24k {covid-19}. Went to Sturgis 1024 miles from the house/Nevada. At 85mph interstate speed-2up-2 weeks worth of gear I got 46mpg heading east/with the wind and 38mpg into the wind heading home. I recommend the Memphis Shades touring light tint windshield 10.5" for me. Great review as always.

You REALLY checked this bike out. The fact that you mentioned the gear shift indicator display number's are hard to read tells me everything! Anyone watching and reading this review. This video is 100% accurate. I just bought a 2021 Vivid Black (blacked out option) Ultra Limited. Me 6' tall, I added a Mustang Super Touring seat which moved me back 2" inches. Perfect arm stretch, no new bars needed. At 6' no wind buffeting from the fairing. The bike sits fairly tall for a tourer. As you said the kick stand is AWFUL!!!! I commend you for such an accurate review. Thanks.

Great looking bike. Paint is top shelf too. This what Harley does right. Otherwise Harley Davidson’s Touring bike’s, by today’s standards, need as standard, water cooling, electric windscreens, center stands, backlit handlebar switches for night right riding, a real horn and LED lighting. Come on now.

Best thing about the Ultra Limited is how it “dances.”
Leaning all that weight into a corner is not only effortless, it’s a joy to do. Same with the throttle, the shifting, everything. Sure, other bikes have more performance, but the experience of riding this Ultra Limited is delightful. There’s nothing like it out there. I’ve looked. I’ve bought. But I’ve come back to the best motorcycling experience there is.

Being a 1999 Electra Glide rider who is 6'4" tall, I solved the slightly cramped feet problem by buying an aftermarket brake arm that is a bit longer, the rear view made better with longer side mirror stand-offs, and more relaxed touring position with foot pegs that attach to the crash bars. I bought this bike new in Dec. 1998 and have had only one problem; needed to replace camshafts due to insufficient hardening of the lobe surface (1st 4000 units) which was done on warranty. I chose to upgrade the oil pump while they had it open to a higher capacity, which cooled the engine down nicely. It puzzles me why so many of the comments seem to disparage the H-D reliability and fit and finish. The materials, fit and finish are superb. That coming from this 78 year old 60+ years of riding many different bikes. Just sayin'. Really like your reviews, keep up the great work.

This bike has every option available, including traction control, Sirius XM radio, and tge Boom Audio amp and Stage II speakers, just o name a few. I absolutely love this bike. It's very powerful, easy to handle, and looks absolutely great. I avoid going to the Harley Davidson dealerships because I find something else that I must have. Now, I am looking to add a Pan American to my collection. I may have to part with my 2011 KLR650 if I do. Don't know if I will buy a new or used Pan American, but most likely, it will be new because I haven't come across any used ones for sale yet.

I bought a 2010 Ultra Classic in Saudi whilst working there. Over 6 yrs rode 70,000 kms around the Middle East then freighted it back home to Cheshire May 2016.
Once registered (which took ages) done just over 20,000 miles before being knocked off it (now scrapped).
The 96” had limitations on the motorway but, touring A & B roads, it was brilliant. I do fancy another of the Limited range. The 114” may be OTT for what I want a motorcycle for so thinking 107” or even another 103” Twin Cam.
Hopefully cash is still King and I can get a good deal.
Looking on Autotrader for example, there are loads of V-twins for sale with low mileage. Assuming not bought as a touring bike which is a pity considering the cost.
Fuel consumption at motorway speeds is terrible, warranty periods are pathetic and the need to buy a new tool kit for imperial fittings once bought is required.
Still, cruising country lanes with standards pipes and AC/DC through the speakers is sheer bliss.

Hi guys, hope all is well, love the videos, Mark here from Nj in the USA.. I'm looking at this bike and the new icon Highway King in magenta... this one seems more suited for two up riding and I ride solo... no misses at the moment.. I had a road king classic years ago and miss it, as I had shared in an previous comment, admittedly I would like better comfort on the Highway than my road king tho. However that's not really where I had done most of my riding. The ultra is a heavy bike indeed, I'm wondering about your decision on the BMW vice perhaps something like the ultra. Did you ever consider the Ultra? .. if not, why not? .. curious.. I will soon test the ultra... I am 5'10" ... best wishes, be well !!

Hello. Although a great video, and very informative concerning this bike, one thing I'd like to add. As some in your audience are hard of hearing, the low volume you have the mic set on makes it very, very hard to hear you. I did not see any "CC" available for the video. Myself, I'm waiting for the 2021 models to come out then will get me one of these. My dream bike, along with doing all of Route 66. Thanks again for the video, and for the good information. Very nice review again, but after the Street Glide and now this I'd really like to know where you get your absurd range figures from? 296km with 22.7l would imply a fuel consumption of 7.67 l/100km! What are you people doing? Constant burnouts? Admittedly, mine is a 107, not a 114, but then I always end up with 5 l/100km, give or take half a litre. All of it two up.
And, while we are at it, there is a lot of idiocy to be found on Harley Davidson motorcycles, but the Touring side stands are the best I have ever seen in my live. You learn to use them properly exactly once and for the rest of your life they are absolutely worry-free.

I'm 6ft 6 and I own an Electra Glide Ultra Classic. Not this model but an older one (2008) but I think the HD hasn't changed much in frame dimensions. I can confirm the more crouched seating position. The soft seat is good for an hour or two after that you need to take a break. Buffets are terrible for me even with a higher wind shield than the stock one. But hey, that's Harley Davidson everything shakes and the sound is so amazing. My pet peeve with this bike is the lack of fairing that should protect your knees. In cold weather you definetley need knee protectors. I missed a comment about this in the review. I had an old Yamaha Venture before, I would call this bike more a tourer than the HD. At my size the Electra Glide is fun to ride, but after 2-3 hours you wish something else despite highway bars that can help the legs but not the butt. All in all a good review and I really like being commented by a tall guy. Thank you Sir.

Like you, I’m 6’6”. I ride a 2018 Road King standard. I bought it used from a dealer 100 miles from home and had them put on a Tall Boy seat before I picked it up. When I got home, my butt was sore! I was disappointed in the seat but didn’t want to spend big money on another. I purchased an Air Hawk seat cushion and problem solved. It’s a great product. I can ride for hours and never get a sore butt. For wind buffeting I did the following and suggest you look at them in this order. 1. Triple tree air deflector. 2. Windshield by Freedom Shield. Mine’s 3” higher than standard. 3. If 1 and 2 don’t solve your buffeting problem, look into fork air deflectors (fangs). They kick the air up and smoothly around your body. My concern with mine is how they might be affecting engine temperature because some of the air flow going around the engine is diverted, but doing all 3 steps certainly solved my wind buffeting problem.

The other possible misfortune is to drag yr heel across the tank - ouch, so that was a no-no
-- Re side stand. I always (lol) parked a bike in gear letting roll an inch also and be stopped by the gears, taking up transmission slack. That way the bike will not roll forward off the side stand..parking uphill is okay - I never parked a bike pointing downhill even if it mean grief to leave again....unless it rested on a kerb etc etc.
    I got a load of top tips.lol I should write a book..
E.g. never chain yr helmet up on the bike close to the ground...dogs will piss on it..lol
Carry a flattened coke can for soft ground under the side stand.(or dig through a bin!)
Don't park near fast traffic - cars can suck the bike over.
Keep padlocks off the ground to make it hard for theives.
Don't sit on bike and fill up. Petrol splashed on yr balls is worse than aftershave!!! Plus fire hazard avoidance....both would be VERY nasty LOL.
    ... ...
    Great channel.
    Oh. The Harleys...
6 gears would irritate me. Shouldn't they have 5 ? 4 plus an overdrive....id probably pull away in second gear all the time. presumably one wouldn't have to slip the clutch excessively with that much torque?
