And why are you not commending the man who stopped the shooter in Texas? A private citizen who was 4blocks away at the moment he heard from his wife. Then had to push his way through the cops who refused to take action and then entered the school. Yet NOT ONE WORD ABOUT THIS MAN'S ACTION'S IS ON MAINSTREAM MEDIA!

Because that didn't happen. He went in and saved his 2nd grade daughter after his wife, who taught at the school texted him. He was going in to his wife's class and was allowed in because they knew him. He brought his own gun into the school, off duty to save his daughter. He didn't encounter the shooter at all. Though he did say that once inside he helped get the other kids to safety.

No one wants to see children killed, but if you’re going to do something, do something that actually addresses the problem. Mental health issues are at an all time high in this country. If you look over the Uvalde shooters pages, he clearly suffered from mental health problems. He made threats on social media and he should have been stopped. How about you do something for all of the people suffering, not taking away peoples rights to own firearms. There are 5 million AR-15’s in existence in this country. Mass shootings are relatively rare. No one wants to see children die, taking away AR-15’s won’t stop shooters from killing people. Here's is a brief history, showing everything you need to know about Gun Control and a short argument at the end, for guns.
In the 1934 The (National Firearms Act) was passed.
To help combat the Italian and Irish Mobs, but also made the purchase of many high power Firearms harder to get for the average person.
In 1968 The (Gun Control Act) was passed, which built upon the previous act and further restricted Firearms.
In 1986 Ronald Regan signed The (Firearms Owners Protection Act) into effect.
Which made all full auto rifles, which were wrongly called machine guns.
From being sold to people who didn't have a special licence for it and thousands of dollars to spend.
In 1990-91 the (Gun-Free School Zones Act) was passed.
Making it a crime to bring a loaded firearm to any school.
In 1993 the National Instant Criminal Background Check System or (NICS).
Was created by the (Brady Handgun Violence Protection Act). And launched by the (FBI) in 1998 to help with the problems, of selling firearms to a criminal or a non licensed person.
This is used every time a Firearms purchase is made in the U.S. by a fully licensed dealer.
which includes gun ranges, sporting goods store and yes even gun shows, since only licensed dealers can sell at a gun show.
In 1994 Joe Biden who was speaker of the house at the time.
Headed, Introduced and passed with Clinton's signature.
The (Federal Assault Weapons Ban), which lasted for 10 years.
By the way an (Assault Weapon) doesn't have a clear definition, so people can lie and call whatever they want an (Assault Weapon).
I would like to note that, none of these laws/acts stopped the (Columbine) shooting of 1999.
Since then dozens of other so called (Common Sense Gun Laws) have been passed; by local, state & federal branches.
Which upon further research and a bit of critical thinking, at least half make no sense if not all.
Yet mass shootings and school shootings continued and still happen to this day.
The history, data and dare I say the science, is clear and suggests that inacting more gun laws doesn't work and won't work, to stop these mad men from committing more atrocities in the future.
The only ones who follow these laws to the letter are law abiding citizens, who already own guns.
Also hypothetically speaking even if all guns were banned, these psychos and other criminals.
Would still find ways to hurt innocent people, whether it be by obtaining a firearm illegally, use of explosives, motor vehicles, chemicals, knives, blunt object, the list goes on.
These horrific acts will still happen, therefore we don't need more gun control, we've been there and done that.
so please stop advocating for policies that won't work!
Or else you are following the definition of insanity, doing the same thing over and over again expecting a different result each time.

"A well regulated militia" is not meant to be a qualifier but a statement as I understand the comon interpretation. The right to bear arms is given so that we the people are capable of forming that militia is how I understand it and I am pretty sure is how it is interpreted legally. Not that that militia is required for you to bear arms. It makes more sense that way aswell given that the idea was for those arms to be used to fight against a oppressive government or outside attackers, letting the government determine what consistutes well regulated would kinda make that concept pointless. Not making a point on if the second ammendment does its job effectively, or if it has utility in a modern context as we are no longer allowed to own military arms like machineguns, aa weapons, etc when it originally allowed you to own cannons and such. I am not saying allowing for those weapons is a good thing either. I am simply saying that I think the interpretation I presented is more correct as to its meaning

Did you know that the 2nd Amendment was made/ratified during the IMMINENT WAR (Cold War) in 1791 after 15 years of the declaration of Independence in 1776, for the Americans made a Pact of Alliance with France against Britain regarding neighboring territories and Maritime issue... in 1812-1815 Naval/Maritime War between American vs. Britain broke...
The 2nd Amendment stated, "A well-regulated MILITIA, necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed."
What is MILITIA, it is a Latin word that means the Public Civilian able-bodied for the Services of Military in Wartime... Therefore, "WHEN" do the People have the Right to Keep and Bear Arms, and shall not be infringed?... ANSWER,... during Wartime due to the word Militia...
The 2nd Amendment never stated, "The Right of the People to KEEP and BEAR Arms "AT ALL TIMES" (Peace and War), shall not be infringed."... There is no word "at all times" but there was a word MILITIA, that shows when the People can keep and bear arms during a Military War, Civil War, or Imminent War....the reason why the Government created the Law Enforcers (Cops) to keep and bear arms in peacetime, not for the public civilians... During Wartime or Chaos/Anarchy in the Country, there are no longer Law Enforcers but total Military takes over or is called MARTIAL LAW... Facts and Truth

I guess the president doesn't realize that what he just proposed is not only unconstitutional but ineffective. Instead of making unworkable proposals how about doing thinks that will actually work immediately. Harden schools, indentify and investigate threats so they can be stopped before these acts occur. In almost every mass shooting there are signs that the individual is going to commit the act that are ignored. The overwhelming vast majority of firearms in this country are never used in a crime. Unfortunately victims don't have the luxury of knowing how many rounds will be needed to stop an attack. Millions of crimes are stop by victims having a firearm available. The vast majority of crimes committed using a firearm are not committed using semiautomatic rifles. There were so many inaccurates in this speech but most folks won't check the facts and history to understand the false statements he made.

A decline in courage may be the most striking feature that an outside observer notices in the West today. The Western world has lost its civic courage, both as a whole and separately, in each country, each government, each political party. Such a decline in courage is particularly noticeable among the ruling groups and the intellectual elite, causing an impression of loss of courage by the entire society. Should one point out that from ancient times declining courage has been considered the beginning of the end? Alexander Solzhenitsyn.
