Man, I hope we can keep Sam. He finally has a team that can compliment his abilities
I think Sam is actually a really solid backup for San Francisco. With that being said , Purdy gives a good template how to replace darnold , look for QBs that operate college systems with timing and anticipation. Additionally, I want San Francisco to continue to bring in QBs with Tons of experience
Sam is trash just like lance. He can't read the d seeing ghosts still. You need qb like purdy who can read a d or else they always turn out like sam, an okay backup but will be figured out.
Im here to disagree. Sam is not that good for how much he’s making, more than Brock. Bring in a rookie to backup Brock.
@@budd7824😅Lance isn’t trash lol he just needs more experience but carry on
@@intriguing9392 You are aware Brock is on a Rookie Contract, he has no choice but to play for less.
But lets use your logic.
Here is a List of Free Agent QBs? Tell me which one do you trust more than Sam, and ask yourself which one would play for less than $1M
Matt Ryan
Chad Henne
Chase Daniel
Bryce Perkinn
Tim DeMorat
Ben DiNucci
Reid Sinnett
Matt Barkley
How about Tom Brady, I am sure he wants to play for 900K and as a Backup
Sam is about the best you can ask for, not too many QBs are going to be better than him if the chips fall down
Well done. People are completely clueless when they say Purdy is "just throwing to wide open receivers" "it's the talent around him" etc. Hey, guess what the main job of a QB is? FINDING OPEN RECEIVERS. Which, btw, is the hardest part of the job because of how fast the game moves and how often the pocket collapses around you. And Purdy is elite at it. How many damn times would we watch Jimmy G, in this same offense, miss the open guy and take the underneath throw, or then recognize it too late, release late and ends up in harms way. Jimmy G did some good things, and Darnold has some talent, but it's so obvious for those who watch tape that Purdy is here to stay. This is who he is. It ain't just the system. It ain't just the roster. Yeah, those things HELP, but the player himself is the difference.
Jup
A major strength of purdy is anticipation and throwing people open.
@@blindthiefyea no that’s a moody thing
The receivers aren’t even open when he starts his throwing motion
@@blindthiefBullshit
Totally agree with your view. I think the QB role has been taken over by running QBs with huge arms making them appear the hero in every game when in fact they are failing in their role of distributor using the talent of their entire team. They develop their physical prowess because they don’t process as fast as they need to and have to rely on their physical skills. Purdy is a master of his craft and a coaches dream. I think over next few years with super bowls on his CV Purdy will start to change the way GMs see the role of QBs and take them back to looking for the elite pocket passers coming out of college instead of running backs who can throw.
You hit the nail on the head. Sure, rushing quarterbacks can have their day of glory, but it is short-lived. Pro quarterbacking has always been and will be in the future, pocket first and scramble second. Pocket first as in grow a pair and deliver the ball instead of running like a scared rabbit. This is where a system like Shanahan’s comes in to play. Deliver the ball quick before the pocket collapses. Purdy has no choice because he has weak protection.
I couldn't agree with you more. The difference was stark watching Darnold play Sunday.
Sam is trash, purdy is legit. Tired of everyone loving qbs with big arms that do nothing
Yeah , I don’t want to just bash Sam because did some nice things . But as a qb you need to be consistent, and outside the opening script , to me Sam looked uncomfortable, suggesting he was able to perfect those plays throughout week, but as Kyle tried to draw from his bag of plays, darnold could not read the defense properly.
Finally a QB that gives me hope. I haven't been this optimistic in our Qbs since Alex Smith.
Yeah, until he won 3 or 4 super bowls people were saying Tom Brady was just lucky to play in a good system….
Ok… I won’t question how good Brady was, because he was great even though I don’t like him as a QB. Brady has a lot of credit on the wins, sure, but he had the best kicker in the game to rely on, and that’s how he got his rings in New England.
Darnlod is taller, has a stronger arm, but much slower in his reads, and that's what sets Purdy appart from him.
fans of other teams and analysts only call brock a 'system' QB cuz fans of other teams are pissed their GM let him slide to 262 and didn't get him. blame your GM, don't blame brock
Also washed up QB's like Cam Newton who like to hate on others so his stats look more impressive.
Ive been saying this all season. When people say Brock wouldn't be good on other teams or any qb could do what he's doing. I tell them we don't know that because it hasn't happened. Everyone wants to play the hypothetical but the reality is we can only judge guys based on their stats and what the tape shows and if you watch his game you know what he's doing is special.
well said
Sam Darnold obviously has a stronger arm than Purdy, but Purdy makes that an advantage. He throws with touch in a way the ball just drops right into the receivers hands, and because he's so good with timing it's right there when it should be, and that's what lets our guys wreck people up field. It's hard to catch a bullet on the run. I'm glad we have Sam as a backup, because he is talented, but Brock's just got the fundamentals so dialed.
3:27 “Throw the ball! Throw the ball! THROW ME THE DAMN BALL!!!” 😅
Good job man. I missed some of that stuff myself! Thumbs up!
Brocks accuracy is also a HUGE factor, hes probably as precise as joe burrow with the ball
Purdy’s poise and incredibly quick decision-making sets him apart from most quarterbacks. The haters just look more and more foolish.
I bet if teams redid Purdy's draft, he goes in the first round. Definitely not going last. If he is a game manager, then he looks like the best game manager of all time. Purdy is currently working on a gold jacket. He has many years to go to get it, but you could not ask for a better start to a career.
People just don't want to accept that someone that late in the draft can
be elite.
I hope the 9ers keep Brock as a franchise quarterback. Cause we haven’t had one since Steve Young. If Brock stays healthy then he already has the tools to potentially be even greater than Brady
Well, I agree that Brock isn't a system qb, but Sam Donald played the rams with a vanilla offense.
This game was mostly ignored by the national media. It doesn't fit their narrative.
I really don’t care how the media or NFL views Purdy. We know what the Niners have, and more importantly, they know who they have in a QB. The others won’t be able to ignore him or brush him off for long if he keeps playing the way he has.
That's one of the things that stood out from Zach Wilson's film in college. Clearly he has a cannon for an arm but he couldn't get through his progressions and would make up for it with his physical tools.
I hope that teams start taking more quarterbacks in the Purdy-style mold as backups since what you really want in a backup QB is someone who can understand defenses, play within structure, and keep the offense moving. Instead, teams often times end up with former high draft-picks as backups who have shown they lack the mental processing aspect to the game and when they inevitably come in, they completely fail.
Well done. You are exactly right. Brock is awesome
The only thing I disagree with is at 1:53 and the linebackers position. It’s the safety position over the top that is within 5 yards of deebo that would have easily been a pick.
I agree and if he was throwing it then the rams edge would’ve hit his arm while it was winding up to throw resulting in either an incomplete pass or a fumble
Great insight
Purdy is the next Brady
Now break down the ravens game and see the difference between Purdue and Darnold
He is a system Qb, a damm good one tho. Sam Darnold is a backup for a reason. However if you put other mid tier pocket Qb’s they would probably do well. Lets say: Derek Carr, Kirk Cousins, Prescott, Stafford, Goff, etc
Good analysis sir
Thanks glad you enjoyed!
Sam I see ghosts
Agree or disagree
Sam needs more reps as a starter he’s good.
Not saying better than Brock but possible can’t knock it if he doesn’t get reps in
Said it since week 15 last season 😎
Sam Darnold proved he is Sam Darnold...
2 years and yall will be complaining about him like jimmy g
I’m a humongous Brock purdy believer but Sam had half the starters for less than half of the game. I don’t think it’s fair to judge them using week 18
We also had a couple drives with Sam.
He played amazing the first half but the second half he started to mess up a little bit
I mean it’s fair to judge his ability to make the plays in front of him. He’s also playing backups. Regardless I think the video is highlighting what Sam darnolds play reminds us about Purdys efficiency. No one is saying Sam is is bad, we’re just able to remember some aspects we took for granted w Purdy. Props to darnold,he was impressive all things considered
As usual, anything anyone says before the word “but” is a lie.
@@Mendozatutorials14 you mean when none of the starters were playing, and receivers were dropping balls that were right to them?
Brock gets a lot of hate from people about labels. He truly does not care what people call him. He just wants to win and ignore everything else. He doesn't need the adulation.
I disagree to a point - there is nothing wrong with seeing/watching what works for someone else and incorporating that into your own. In my profession I train people, and part of the verbal training is to watch & listen to how co-workers talk and interact with clients and take/use what works. Tweak and adjust as needed to make it work for you.
I don't think there's anything wrong with it. I actually think sam has learned and improved from purdy. Specifically, how to play within himself.
BYE BYE COWBOYS🎉🎉🎉🎉 THANKS PACKERS FOR CLEANING UP THE COWBOYS!!! HOW ABOUT DEM COWBOYS😂😂
Purdy simple: the first to get opened get the ball. Even if it’s just a 5-yrs pass.
What do you make of the ravens game, Wizez? I believe Purdy is a very talented QB. But, he got heavily criticized for his performance against Baltimore. How do you respond to that?
He made 1 bad throw that game. 3 int were because of the line not blocking and it was tipped or his arm was hit mid throw. He was moving the ball very effectively. Josh Allen throws worse picks than any in that game.
People said the same about Joe burrow. Couldn’t stay healthy. I need to see three years before I form an opinion.
Mic drop.
Hot take the 49ers should draft a qb in draft
Agreed
Offseason priority needs to be OL improvement.
@@ShaunHensley I mean that’s common knowledge lol
Somewhat out of topic but also proves Jimmy g is a good enough qb, and that goes even further because Jimmy in 9ers was with more mediocre players than Purdy has, granted jimmy g always had good players, but not the roster Purdy did…. And when he did, he had the best stretch of his career
This was the same argument I had at first in defense of Purdy but haters aren't interested in facts or debate or they would have stumbled upon the fact that all the narratives are wrong and originate from a place of ill will. Ill will because they can't stand the sight that he is successful, and that he's getting recognition from Steve Young, Joe Montana, Tom Brady, Eli Manning and Patrick Mahomes, who have all welcomed Brock to the league with apt comparisons to him. Haters hate it when Purdy gets any sort of recognition because they're jealous (they crave to expose him for a fraud) fraud what? he won games with his team fair and square. But haters will never admit that, because deep down they're wounded. Maybe they don't get enough recognition for their own achievements. Nevertheless it's a sign of a fragile ego not being able to wish someone well. Or tolerate the many compliments they might get along the way. They will never say any achievement of Purdy's is deserved.
Like Lance did, like Jimmy did? Casuals
Who still needs to call Brock “elite”? The draft is always full of hidden talent. I’m just glad the Niners got him given how many times they picked high and got robbed. I’d have been happy with a quarterback who wasn’t a drama queen, but Brock is absolutely a Champion. “Elite” doesn’t cut it. I’m ready for my 9ers dynasty.
Sam proved that he is not a System QB 🤪🤣😂
How you doing
You guys wanna trade purdy for hurts? Its a good deal i primise.
Excellent analysis with perfect examples. All for nothing, though, because the dumb shits who trash-talk Purdy don't want to be bothered with the facts.
I appreciate that ! Continuing to try to improve
Not dissing Darnold, but he is just average pro QB.

🔥💯🔥
Sam darnold is to slow 🐌
We saw what other qbs do Jimmy g was ok and Trey Lance is terrible
SAME REASON LANCE WAS A TERRIBLE PICK!!!
Sam is probably a little bit better at throwing than lance but I get your point , really talented in the physical attributes, but non tangibles, not so much .

To be fair Sam did not have any weapons like brock
Sam is trash, he can't read a defense and just stands there looking at open wr. Like bro throw the ball, i didn't think it was this bad until this film, he sees ghosts. Thank god for Purdy or niners would be done because lance WAS WORSE THAN DARNOLD!!!
He's not trash, he's just normal; he's got a great arm but he can't make quick decisions.
Man do you have a twitter or discord
