My major problem is to know if this will work on other languages besides English. I can’t speak with siri on my native language- Portuguese, from Portugal .

Exactly, Most LLMs can handle 30+ languages, yet Apple will only cater to US English at launch. Classic Apple move, right? (they're really behind the times) smh.

From 15 pro not pro max
1. There will be the new iPhone 16 series with full AI support, both standard and Pro.
2. iPads with M1, M2, M4 chips are also supported.
3. ALL Apple Silicon Macs will get it!

@@Patty100ish the sheer computational power required to run these models locally is huge, power which pre-A17 Pro chipsets do not have. (A17 Pro has ~40 TOPS, A16 has ~15 TOPS). Not even mentioning RAM limitations.
Apple Intelligence works with a lot of sensitive user data, “personal context”, therefore it’s irresponsible to offset all that data on a server somewhere. This is why I think they insist on keeping it on-device.
35 for the 17, 15ish for the 16, still given the M1 is a bottom feeder in this consideration then why 🤷♂️
Because they skimped on ram and chips in this arena?
After after all the same era 14pro competition brands say a Snap 8+ Gen1 with 27TOPS and 12GB ram seems a huge difference in the same time period..

0:37 I guarantee you that in September, they would release a new Apple Watch Ultra and only on the ultra would have a pro chip on it that would allow Siri to talk with Apple intelligence. Apple will make it where you have to purchase the ultra or the new revamped X model that has been promised for a while now to be able to use app intelligence.
A17 Pro Neural Engine has ~40 TOPS, A16 Bionic has ~15 TOPS. Same with S9 chip in the Ultra 2 and Series 9, ~15 TOPS. Nowhere near enough.
@@tdrg_ which is why I said they will make a custom or pro chip for the new Apple watch ultra or the new promised redesign Apple watch that would allow it to have Apple intelligence on it.

It’s in beta. By the time it’s released for everyone there will be a considerable number of users with the 15 Pro, 16/16 Pro or even maybe 17 if it stays in beta for long
No he means just the iPhone 15 pro and pro max and 16 pro and pro max and newer no older iPhones and not even the iPhone 14 Pro and pro max

This leads me to believe that Apple deliberately limited AI capabilities for A17 Pro models, rather than the other devices like iPhone 12/13/14 being unable to run them. Of course, they're a business looking to sell more products, but it seems unfair to leave behind modern devices that could still execute these functions, albeit with some limitations.
