Hey Nick, fellow Nick here, I commented on one of your videos a year ago (the "my story as an alcoholic" I think) and wanted to say thank you again for your videos. I am now 22 and 2.5 years as a near daily drinker and your videos are very valuable to me. I had an ultrasound done last week and they said there is nothing to note of my insides (most importantly liver) but I am not using that as an excuse to drink. I know alcohol is holding me back in every way, but in such a deep pit as I am and have been in the escape is so compelling. Regardless I greatly appreciate your channel and videos and admire you for doing all of this. Thank you

Please do whatever you have to do to stop drinking. My husband over drank for years and is now paying the price at 68. Not only is he very sick with cirrhosis, but because of blood clots, he can't get a liver transplant. We're facing a much more radical procedure now. I say 'we' because this doesn't just affect the sick person; it hurts our kids, his siblings, and myself. I eat, sleep, breathe everything to do with the liver. We will be by his side no matter what, but our lives have been completely disrupted by something that could have 100% been avoided. He lives with the guilt of knowing that as well. You're young. Please don't let this become your life as well.

Oh Nick. I’m so sorry to hear about your struggles my friend. It will pass I know. Please take very good care of your mental health and hang in there. The Disability process is a total nightmare! I know first hand what it’s like. I hope an attorney can help you. YOU deserve disability benefits! I’ll be praying for you. Hugs Mona 💚💚💚💚💚

one thing that has been helping me out with deep depression is reading DBT manuals and therapy. It teaches to me to "get out of my head" and stop thinking with my reptile brain with emotions like regretting about the past and worry and anxiety about the unknown future. But instead it teaches you to focus on the now and to use logic and reason which seems to give me more power and control which relieves the anxiety.

Well said! I've always been a fan of DBT.

      @@fortressfarms82What is DBT?

@@carolinecasado1807 its dialectical behavior therapy. Its mental tools you can use to practice mindfulness at all times if possible. For example through your time you focus hard on what you are actually doing and experiencing your surroundings like sound, touch, sight, etc, as opposed to daydreaming away from what is going on now. And when a random thought comes into your brain about your past like trauma, you can label that event with "that is a thought" while not putting any emotion into that thought. Its good stuff. Its good also for people who struggle with BPD, ADD, and high functioning autism.

I have HE and knew I had a problem after a shoulder surgery and I forgot stuff and I knew I was in trouble. This is just a long, drawn-out process. It messes with your mind and just wears on you. I am just sick of feeling sick and tired. I am into this 14 years. I am still here, but the side effects get bad. It gets really bad when you for the most part are sitting out life because you cannot plan anything from day to day. Just wearing and I get it.

I think a lot of people have to hire an attorney to go thru the disability process. It must seem so discouraging but I am sure the attorney will reassure you that this is a common path. I am sure this is so overwhelming to go thru but you are doing the best you can to get through all of this heavy stuff. Just keep on walking - you can do it.

No one gets disability without a lawyer and they always deny first application, part of the game they make you play
