- Flight review of Etihad Airways Boeing 777 from BKK-AUH.
I report the good and the bad.
Flight date: April 2014
Departure time: 02:55
Arrival time: 06:20 same day
Good points: being innovative with in-flight facilities, Wi-fly allows for using safely in the air cellphones, and wifi. Air crew served passengers with a smile.
Negative point: restricted leg room in economy class; narrow aisle leading to service trolley bumping into seats; cabin was unusually cold.

Took this flight one week ago on 28-4 . Had seats in the back window side 2 isle little wider also there. My S4 wouldnt charge on the ac outlet although light was green during cruise. Usb did work for charging .
Is there a port to charge an iPhone with on this plane? Any other things i should know about this plane as I'm flying to Melbourne on it in April

Thanks haringeypad, the seat looks similar to mine. I'm travelling EY 77W soon on 23C and 31C. Would you recommend me changing to the seats right at the back eg 52-54? Thanks for your advice! I am worried as I'm 6 foot 1 on a 14hr flight eek :/
Also did you remember which seats the entertainment boxes were under the seats?

Ah you have long legs. Etihad's 777s layout are not standardized across its fleet. Either you'll have spacious leg room, or in the other layout passengers are packed in like sardines and they do away with 1st class to make room for more economy seats. If you want to make sure you have leg room you want to be by the emergency exits (and these seats are where the VODs are stored under the seats). If you can't get a seat by the exits, and your seat is cramped, you can plead your case to the air crew. I saw this happen on a flight, and recorded it, and a couple did a swap for the seats by the emergency exit. Happy flying.

alazizful If you sit in front of the engines, then it's quieter than sitting from the middle section to the rear where it can be noisier because of the engines. That's not an issue for me. It was ok at the rear although I went there because I found empty seat where I could lie down. I don't like to be close to toilets.

Yes. I think it's 110-115V and it's a universal socket
Compared to the UK, the 3 pin plug socket is upside down, but doesnt matter. It still works!

i took etihad from brussels to bangkok economy class 5 years ago, was 200 euro cheaper than the thai airways ticket, but i almost died of thirst on the flight, when u just get on board u get a yoghurt pot i thought, but it was water.
then u get your meal, but after the meal nobody came with drinks, so had to drink the the water in the yoghurt pot, was only a sip and it was empty.
2 hours later someone came with drinks in cups on a plate but they don't ask you or offer! they just walk by unless you get up like in a baseball game to get some! but i was too late, offcourse you can push a button to ask some but was just wondering how long it would take to get some drinks, after another hour or two i gave up and went to get something myself cause my lips and mouth was so dry, just hopeless service, next time i bought thai airways like i was used to and they offer you drinks AAAALLL the time! thai airways good service, etihad hopeless
+Initial D Thanks for sharing your experience. I never wait to get a drink. If I want one I go out to the service area. If the crew are resting they leave a tray of drinks - water, juice etc..I miss the flights on Cathay Pacific where you could help yourself to instant noodles in a pot.

I flew from Abu Dhabi to JFK on 01st Oct 2015. It's a 14hr flight. That was the worst seats I've ever been. The seat base (the cushion where you sit) is very short. Worst seat I've ever been!!! Even domestic Delta flights have better seat depth. Etihad Airways Economy, the true definition of the cattle class!!!
