Think how many trombone players are in the world. Lets say at least 500,000. You just named 9 people. Out of 500,000. That's less than .000018 percent of the trombone population. Unless you're completely focused on the music aspect of life(which is satisfying, I must say) you would most likely not know who these peole are, especially if you're in high school.

Great example of a bass trombonist who does everything right. The best I've ever heard. I would bet that he has studied Arnold Jacobs for the importance of keeping the air going. Also, these words of wisdom from two Chicago Symphony Trombonists are certainly evident in his playing: Jay Friedman who reminds when slurring from low to high to get set on the lower note, imagine the next note, do nothing else, and "keep blowing," and Charles Vernon who reminds us to keep the "buzz" in our embouchure going when changing notes. His concept of what the horn can do is limitless.

Its harder because of the mouthpiece, not the instrument. The huge bore ones that you use to play tuba pedals on trombone are nigh on impossible to hit above a high C or D with, but a normal 6 1/2 would be fine on the same instrument.
