The best David so far! Every single phrase is beautiful, very musical and alternative positions are on perfect spots. What an amazing interpretation!

Ron Prussing played this really well. This performance is good, but l wanted more from it.
Probably the best interpretation of David recorded yet. Don't get me wrong, I love Lindberg's and Alessi's version, but this one is the most musical, humble and precise one. The second movement really makes you move emotionally, even if you listened to this piece hundreds of times. I hope I'll play David as good when I'll be a professional!

Better than every recording on Spotify, so I uploaded it to my local files to listen to in the car with no ads. Currently working on this piece for a potential performance in the beginning of 2024, I love being able to see the many different interpretations of this masterful piece, but this interpretation is by far my favorite. While being a monster-fully technical piece, this recording doesn’t make it sound like positions on a paper, it makes it sound like MUSIC. That is what I hope to achieve in the future.

@@dakotacompaan6292 It went very well! I got accepted into the music program I wanted the most!! I have another memorized performance of this tomorrow for a chance at some cash and a permanent spot in a city orchestra! Im looking forward to it for sure! Im a lot less nervous about my performance tomorrow knowing that audition season is FINALLY coming to an end.

The finest and best recording of this I have ever heard, and better IMHO than even Joseph Alessi's,. Seriously.
Orchestra’s certainly superior in this one
Alessi plays a lot of wrong rhythms and kind of disregards the style of the piece. Now, it sounds great because it’s Alessi. But… this performance is far more stylistically accurate and beautifully played.
I was extremely impressed by how spot on the alternate positions were. Each phrase is shaped beautifully. Probably the best performance of this piece I have heard.
Don't get to that level without knowing your alternates. ;)
After this concert was deleted from CZcams for some reason, I told myself that it was one of the best performances with the best dynamics and best interpretation in solo and orchestra deleted from CZcams but today I am happy to listen to this concert again.
After hearing this, I'm proud to be a trombone player! This is what the instrument can sound like. Brilliant!

今まで色んな人の沢山のダヴィッドを聴いてきたけど、この人の演奏は本当に技術うんぬんを超えた音楽をしている様に聞こえた。
世界的に伝説的なプレーヤーは沢山いるけど、こんなに音楽をしている人が居たかな？と思った。
プロの方々の演奏は「すげぇ！」と思えるけどここまで行くと「えぇなぁ。。。」と溜息が出る様な言葉が出てくる。
そんな演奏を聞く事が出来て同じトロンボーン吹きとしてとても幸せに思えました。

A fantastic performce in every way. So musical, perfect in style, a great soloist and a great orchestra serving the music, no showing off or ego stuff getting in the way. Also great production (video and sound). This is the David I have been waiting for. The best version I've ever heard, and this includes all the studio recordings of the big names of the trombone. It's seriously some of best trombone playing I've ever heard. Beautiful sound, perfect legato, wonderful control, great dynamic range and spectrum of colours. But it is not only great trombone playing, it is great music making by a great artist. For the first time I get the feeling this is really a first rate piece of music. Bravo Mr. Buchanan! In German this is called a Sternstunde!
Epic tone and fantastic control, bravo young man. That middle movement is just bliss. A lovely dance with the orchestra and though out fantastic dynamics.

Most musical interpretation I have ever heard. Orchestra and conductor are fantastic. Trombone player is excellent, real musician, but locking in bigger sound . I never enjoy it so much by listening to such a marvelous interpretation of Ferdinand. Bravo to all of you and big thanks.
