My wife just bought me one of these as an early Father's day gift. I haven't metal detected in over 10 years! Quite a different machine than my old Whites Classic II... Excited to get out and use it!
Yep I have one ♥️
So glad you made this short and sweet. Anything over 10 minutes would exceed my wife's male instruction threshold.
Yeah...she might struggle with the full review lol...it was 20+ if I remember.
not sure exactly if I am going to the right place to join your forum,I follow you on Facebook and CZcams and want to stay caught up on you and the huntress,it is a real blessing to watch you guys get out and detect and even game together.I know the huntress hasn't even started her channel yet but I have already subscribed to it!!Keep em coming I enjoy all your videos
A great video demonstration and explanation of the Bounty Hunter Quick Draw Pro. It still amazes me how much functionality and performance is built into these low cost detectors. I know they are sometimes classes as beginners machines, but to be honest if you were just coin shooting in parks it would be suitable for any skill level.
Hard not to like some of these 200-300 detectors. Most finds are at 2-6 inches...and this will definitely find those targets in all but the worst soils. Only the deepest silver and relics...which are rare...need the advanced detectors.
As always Hunter, another well made video!
De los modelos que he usado es uno de los mejores , he hallado infinidad de articulos históricos , monedas, anillos , etc es muy sencillo de usar , muy exacto me da credibilidad, ligero duradero es muy buen equipo , saludos.
Thanks Man i appreciate that advice
Bounty hunter tracker 4 was impressive and a great price.
The platnium seemed high priced unsure if I seen video's on that.
I've heard good things about tecnetics.
I like the features on Fisher F3,F4, F19, F44 and gold bug pro.
Good review Hunter. This is my main machine, I have tried others in this price range, but I always come back to this one. I started with this detector and I absolutely love it, however wish I could afford one in a higher price range, I'm sure I'm missing some good stuff.
95% of finds will be 6 inches or less and this detector will find that no problem. If you want DEEP silver or want to do tons of relic hunting them yes you will probably want an upgrade. However, most parks and schools you should not be digging 12 inch holes anyways...so a detector like this is perfect.
All it takes is one gold ring at 2 inches to buy a new detector. :)
Very useful video thank you
thanks i was leaning toward a ace 300 but i really like this . Thanks.
Glad it was of help. Best of luck Samuel
hi. I recently bought this model and have had a great deal of pleasure using it.
however. now and then it seems to just go crazy. like its detecting all sorts of signals all at once.. nothing short of turning it off for a minute or 2 seems to clear it up.. its not location because I pretty much use it in the same place all the time, so it seems to be like a bug or something.. do you know of any trouble shooting tips for symptoms like these?. thanks
great review! thank you.
My pleasure...thanks for watching.
This machine keeps impressing me. I may have to pick one up for the heck of it next season. It would be great for quick hunts.
I consider it another BH sleeper unit. Does way more than it should for the price. Great as a start unit or a backup unit.
Great video, thanks
My pleasure...thanks for watching.
been downtown behind the old houses. what makes the whole yard pick up iron? the dirt and rocks are burnt looking, melted looking. and its dirt stinks. All metal picks up a signal everywhere.. brick yard? idk
Hey man i really enjoy your videos. I have a question for you. Which detector would you prefer the Bounty Hunter Land Star or the Quick Draw Pro? Im ready to get started metal detecting again.
Heya Frank...thanks for watching and the nice comment. I think the QDP is far superior. Very good machine for the price. It is lighter - faster - deeper - and will have a better ID.
Sweet I hope i get one of those :)
They are great detectors. Hope ya get one too!
Love mine
Great to hear David. VERY good machine for the price. Underrated as far as I am concerned.
Great tutorial. What about the pin point button? I also put a 13 inch coil on it too. Depth would be nice as well.
Pin-[point button works good. I never had issues with it. A larger 13in coil would for sure hit some deep targets.
What do i do to stop the machine from getting random signals. It even does it while not moving it or holding the coil away from the ground. Very frustrating to dig a signal for there to be nothing because the machine false signaled
Thanks for the video..i just bought a qdp. My other one broke n needed new coil.. Im happy with the choice..my question is , is it safe to use on wet sand?
As long as the control box and coil connection on back stays dry...the whole stem and coil can be submerged. Wet salt sand will cause a bit of chatter...might have to lower sens a bit.
@@thehuntergt ok...thanks for answering..
Hey Hunter! Just wondering, I was looking back at some old videos and reading reviews again on the Quick Draw Pro. I noticed that it says in the description (Adustable FeTone™ audio iron helps you search in iron-rich areas. ) So wondering if you know anything about this and how to adjust it, or is it a typo on all the sites that say anything about this detector. I have never been able to adjust anything for the audio on it. Any ideas??
No FeTone on a QDP....typo for sure. Would be rad though.
@@thehuntergt Ya, main one I see it on is the Cabela's website, which is where I bought mine from!
great detector
Yes indeed!
As someone who is new to the hobby, I started off with a cheap unit, Bounty Hunter Tracker IV. I am looking to upgrade and can't seem to decide between the Bounty Hunter Quick Draw Pro or the Garrett ACE 250. I keep coming back to this one but was hoping I could get your opinion/thoughts!?
IMO the QDP easily beats the Ace 250. Much faster recovery - much better audio - easy to read display - better all around performance.
Thank you for the reply, I appreciate it! Also, love the videos, I've learned a lot - keep up the good work.
Thanks man I appreciate that. :)
I love my QDP. I've a more expensive Garrett AT Pro also but I like my QDP just as much.
I ended up getting the QDP and I am glad I did. I've been very happy with it.
Hello HunterGT .
I think i watched all your reviews about this MD...I learned something from all of them .
One question - i think this MD is one of those MD made for USA hunters... ;-) - which metals are 'lighted' beyond the Zn sign (ok, copper , and...?) ?
I'd like to see a review from you about Bounty Hunter Quick Draw Pro in...'open field' or a forest (many war relics are founded in forests...) etc ...
...and the last question ;-) : is this MD good for WWII relics ?
Thanks .
Thanks for watching! Any high conductor such as copper or silver will show up past zinc. Foil to Zinc will be where mid range conductors like lead and gold shows up.
I no longer own this detector. It was on loan for the review. It will do great on WW2 relics as they are quite large usually. It would hit a button at 6-7 inches and a medal at a good 8-10 inches on a larger one.
Thank you HunterGT !
For example: a helmet...which is the depth range for Bounty Hunter Quick Draw Pro ? Or a cartridge ? I would use 0 discrimination on WWII relics because some of them are made from aluminium or copper; some buttons are made from zinc...
A helmet would produce a signal at like 1.5 - 2 feet. On a cartridge....7-8 inches easily. Large caliber ones...maybe a foot.
Not bad at all for a 'cheapy' MD like Bounty Hunter Quick Draw Pro ;-)
Now...how do I know, for a aluminium 'signal' (for example), if that thing is a 'legendary' pull tab or is a military pot ?
MrROsbama Raise the coil...if a small object it will disappear at a couple inches. If a large object it will beep many inches above ground. However...sometimes you will be fooled and there is no telling the difference if the large object is deep.
What if you swap coils with the lone star pro, would everything change?
Nope! ID stays the same and coils swap perfectly.
By any chance have you run across a source of the 4in.ultra coil that you reviewed in an earlier video? I have contacted FTP and cannot get a straight repeatable answer from them about it depending on who answers you it either does not exist,or it is the same one that I already have(4coil)that I use on my pioneer ex which is almost twice as deep 7in.on a quarter.but on my QD pro 4in. I wouldn't have thought 1khz difference would have made a 75% reduction in depth .
Guess that's a negative
I just got one of these as a gift but am in a conundrum as to weather it is waterproof coil? I've read both? Yes,, the coil is either water resistant or yes waterproof coil fully? I'd like to use it at the beach where it may get wet , and near creeks and rivers...any ideas? Ty... dirtDigginDiv@
The coil and rod assembly up to the control box are waterproof and can be submerged. The electronic control box and coil connection point is NOT waterproof OR weather-proof and needs to stay dry. Best of luck!
I use mine submerged for awhile now and still works. JUST THE COIL
I’m about to purchase one of these, anything I should know? How deep does it go
Goes about 6-7 inches on most coin sized objects in dirt. Very good detector for the price.
Any negative aspects?
Not for the price it sells at. Gives you more than it should actually. I'd have to really nit-pick to find a negative on it.
GREAT! Thanks for the help!
My pleasure!
Can you tell me if the Bounty Hunter 11” DD coil will work with this detector? Tia.
As long as it has a push-in connector and comes from another 7.7kHz machine (or 19kHz) - yes.
Thank you for the info.
I'm going to have to cut my wife off from watching your videos LOL. She said she would rather have this then the Garrett Ace 400 I got her... because you make it look simpler to use, she likes the larger LCD readout & "the color is pretty". :-)
Well she is right lol...it is better looking...much easier to see...and works almost as well. Let her keep watching!
Thanks . Helped me...Facebook...Bounty Hunter Quick Draw Pro group
This is supposed to detect 22 cm deep for small items as coins. How much i need to pay more to get device which detect same size of object 1 meter (3 feet) deep?
There is no detector that can detect coins a 3 feet. Sorry.
@@thehuntergt i just digged piece of iron, smaller than penny from half meter with quick draw.
@@nikokallio8650 Well congratulations - as you are the only person on Earth to have done so with that detector.

@@thehuntergt stop making guide videos as you know very little about detectors. You are stupid, teaching other people is not for average people especially not for such as you.
it real?
and you forgot the built-in pin pointing function
ian kleinschmidt Sure did.
The backlight on mine isn't working??
It does not have one.
@@thehuntergt that's what I thought but I seen pics where some qdp models do have a backlight but thanks for answering
It was an early marketing mock-up of it. The Land Ranger Pro had it as well. Neither one got it for whatever reason.
@@thehuntergt thanks man
