It's criminal how impossible she is to get naturally in a good playthrough (unless you just happen to have non-lethal toggled in your game). I know she's recruitable if you KO her in Shattered Sactuary but come on, who thinks of that without the little help of the internet?

To be fair it's because you can potentially go to the shadow cursed lands, pick up minthara and then go to the creche. I assume she has underdark dialogue too, most likely.
Normally she refuses to exit the shadow cursed lands, but you can prevent her dialogue from triggering using the Silence spell and fast travel as normal. Sadly she didn't have underdark dialogue from my experience. She had a few text bubbles but the voice lines themselves never triggered. No interaction with Nere either, unsurpisingly.
Minthara & Halsin have identical idle overworld lines in certain Act 1 locations - I've only noticed them here at the temple & nothing really in the Underdark. Even fought Grym w Minty & Halsin & didnt get anything special. Some interactions will affect the approval rates too!
I remember me and dad accidentally triggering the trap in our couch coop play through. He escaped the cage with misty step, we ran through the portal. Shadowheart had the click heels shoes on, so she was double dashing, I was a monk, so I was skipping across the map with wind dash And gale had dimension door to help dad get to the ledge of the roof. On the last turn before it blew up, I used a feather fall scroll, and we all leaped as far as we could go to ground level, and it was enough to get away from the blast. It was exciting
To be fair the creche isnt a only act 1 area and is accessible fully in act 2. so minthara would have lines here unlike areas of ethel's or the underdark

There's a neat weapon in the bottom vault of this temple. There's a puzzle and side quest needed to get awarded the item. You can just walk up and grab it without doing the puzzle/quest, but the temple considers that stealing instead of earning it and decides to crush you with the help of its neat little laser-drill friend you see in the clip.

Yes. Have your Tav grab the Blood of Lathander, then Misty Step out of the shield trap and have everyone run for their lives. Alternately, you can disable the doom cannon altogether by finding the Dawnmaster Crest or destroying the four corner things in the room, but then you miss out on smiting the entire creche into a pile of ash, so.....
This ones kinda between acts 1 and 2, since it's on the path to act 2. You can probably pick minthara up then double back, and they considered that possibility
@@G1lgamesj I wouldn't assume that necessarily. It's pretty easy to miss - if you only do the main quest, even if you get to the crèche, you may just run out of there while missing the whole thing. Or if you solve the weapon puzzle beforehand, like I did, you might not even know that this is an option - you just take the weapon and leave 🤷♀️
Never actually done a playthrough with Minthara, but I think you only get locked out of this quest after you enter the Shadowfel and save Aylin. If you're able to recruit her, you *should* be able to head back to the monastery and do this if you originally skipped it.
@@rein9450I believe Halsin only refuses if you haven't completed the Thaniel quest first, but I'm going to try casting Silence on Minthara to prevent her from complaining, because I've heard that allows her to travel back from the Shadowlands.
Without any modding or exploits you can go to camp in Act 2 while doing the Crech to hear a ton of her voice lines, whenever the party has something new to say, she will too. For some dumb reason you can't bring her there even though she is fully coded to have voice lines and interacts there. But has nothing to say in Act 2 by comparison. She has like 0 opinion till Act 3 since her Act 2 storyline gutted.
Now that i think, act I is still accesible till you enter the mausoleum in act II, so you can recruit her when going to moonrise towers (without entering the mausoleum before this first), and go back to do the creché lol
Larian probably decided that its too much work to integrate her into act 1 fully. Creche was probably the beginning of act 2 but got changed later or something. But looks like they just said meh fuck this and removed her from act 1 fully.
@@Thz333 It's no work. All of her voice lines are done. And she has a full story for the part. It was just cut. It's why she has nothing to say in Act 2. They cut her content. You could experience some of it during the open beta, if you played back then.
I never understood why games make characters talk to themselves when dangerous situations happen. Its like "I need to get off this roof Now! Good thing it went up - now to get out of here. I need to get off this building before that thing explodes!" Like we get it! We gotta get off the ROOF! Stop nagging us!
I think it's supposed to be assumed its inner monologue, unless it's explicitly stated and their lips are actually moving like Geralt. But he rightfully gets called weird for that.
Hey, former first responder here, it’s normal to talk yourself down in a stressful situation, it helps you do three things 1)Clearly and concisely lay out what you need to do. 2) It’s putting what you need to do into the open, giving it form, making it real, giving it substance, something to hold onto. 3) It helps you stay calmer.
Because some people are really slow or unused to games and need a ton of reminders of what to do. The number of voiceline for that sort of things steadily goes up until the devs decide they've done enough and that adding more would be similarly ignored for those who didn't catch all the hints up to this point, and obnoxious for the others. They go through testing until they reach an acceptable compromise between helping as many people and being obnoxious. Don't underestimate how casual the average gamer is.

It's only awkward if you talk to yourself when there are clearly others around you (because you no longer need this mechanism) but "loud thinking" is perfectly normal. Like the guy above already said, it helps you get your thoughts in order. Think of it as an imaginary helper/assistant or a rubber duck (software developers should know what I'm talking about). Also, it is a way to vent your thoughts. I mean, if you hit yourself in a little finger or step on lego piece, do you just silently take it? I guess not...
I don't know anything about her voice actor but the constant seething about everything and everyone is freaking well done, it's there and yet done well enough that it's not irritating. Even when she's done and excited she's like, "Yeah, well i still had to do it so whatever shits fucked."
I applaud the team for the multitude of patches and fixes they've done on the game, but since before even the first one it's been known that Minthara and her quest/romance were bugged. How has this still not been one of the fixes yet to get her playable sooner and properly.
Act 2 starts after you enter Shadowcursed Lands but you can still go back to Act 1 locations (without Minthara and Halsin) until a specific action happens in Act 2.
Minthara casually showing off her indomitable ankle strength, continuing to run at full speed after audibly shattering her bones three or four times from leaping several stories at a time.
If anybody wants to do this all you have to do is get her from moonrise towers and return to the creche. Until you enter The shadow fell you can return to act one locations
That is because Jaheera, Minsc, Minthara, and even Alfira were planned to be playable origin characters, the mods that allow to play them just use unused portrait, ans assets that are in the game files. The game was originally planned to have multiple entry points, but it was cut to have a more robust mainline story.
Because you can travel back and forth between act 1 & 2, so if you skip plenty of the quests, kill the goblin leaders (sparing Minthara), and go to Moonrise Towers and grab her, then go back to Act 1, youll probably get these reactions.
That's because you can go back to the Act 1 areas prior to going to Act 3. I didn't go through the mountain pass on my first playthrough until I had finished with everything else in Act 2 cause I didn't know about anything in it, the quest and all related quests were unchanged.

@@CM4wsler Ehmm...it's not weird? It's only awkward if you talk to yourself when there are clearly others around you (because you no longer need this mechanism) but "loud thinking" is perfectly normal.
Like the guy above already said, it helps you get your thoughts in order. Think of it as an imaginary helper/assistant or a rubber duck (software developers should know what I'm talking about).
Also, it is a way to vent your thoughts. I mean, if you hit yourself in a little finger or step on lego piece, do you just silently take it? I guess not...
I don't know anything about her voice actor but the constant seething about everything and everyone is freaking well done, it's there and yet done well enough that it's not irritating. Even when she's done and excited she's like, "Yeah, well i still had to do it so whatever shits fucked."

I applaud the team for the multitude of patches and fixes they've done on the game, but since before even the first one it's been known that Minthara and her quest/romance were bugged. How has this still not been one of the fixes yet to get her playable sooner and properly.
This is act 2...
Act 2 starts after you enter Shadowcursed Lands but you can still go back to Act 1 locations (without Minthara and Halsin) until a specific action happens in Act 2.
Actually, the Creche is part of Act 1. Act 2 doesn't start until you enter the Shadowcursed Lands.
Minthara did NOT want to end up like Astarion.

That is because Jaheera, Minsc, Minthara, and even Alfira were planned to be playable origin characters, the mods that allow to play them just use unused portrait, ans assets that are in the game files.
The game was originally planned to have multiple entry points, but it was cut to have a more robust mainline story.
Pretty cool to see her in this situation and hearing her voiceoines but her outfit in this tho.

Because you can travel back and forth between act 1 & 2, so if you skip plenty of the quests, kill the goblin leaders (sparing Minthara), and go to Moonrise Towers and grab her, then go back to Act 1, youll probably get these reactions.

That's because you can go back to the Act 1 areas prior to going to Act 3. I didn't go through the mountain pass on my first playthrough until I had finished with everything else in Act 2 cause I didn't know about anything in it, the quest and all related quests were unchanged.
That is the beginning of act 2
