How's this Guy only got 7.14K sub's in my opinion he does some of the best wet testing on youtube and is entertaining.
@69ABACUS69 first off, your opinion is freaking awesome! Thank you for the kind words. So glad you enjoy my testing. Getting tents wet is one of my favorite pass time lmao. My time will come and I’ll get a play button! Thanks for watching
Classic case of, you get what you pay for.
But if its seam sealed?, Then it's a Worthy purchase.
I actually like this little tent, or the idea of it anyway.
And yes to using the stove!
Seam seal this tent while using the old stove! Make a video out of it!
Just throwing that out there. Maybe the seam seal will dry quicker because of it?
Love what you do man!
@Floyd Lee Mullins II I too like the tent. Used it last night actually. Like the different options and front porch is awesome. I won’t be making a seal this tent video. But it’s a good idea. People just don’t watching those videos enough. Thanks for watching
Like the porch set up as well. If it's popular another tent brand will copy it and improve it.
@Smart Traveler that would be cool cause I like the setup options it has too. Thanks for watching
If resealing the seams, perhaps inside and out, fixes the issue then it's still not a bad buy overall. There are tents like the lanshan pro where you have to pay extra or seal it yourself anyways. I've also read of people using the waterproofing spray inside and out, inside to reduce condensation building up on the material, that would be an interesting test (perhaps spraying one wall and not another inside to compare)
@Jimmy J correct. You out some work into it it’s pretty sweet. I like the different configurations and it comes with an inner.
That seems very interesting man. Maybe I will test that out. Thanks for watching
It does have possibilities
@Harshman Hills it sure does! Thanks for watching
I hear that if you mix Flex Seal, roofing tar, and cranberry juice and wipe it on your tent with unscented flushable wipes while it's raining, you'll have an amazing experience! :D
@Big Harry Bushcraft lol wait what? Thanks for watching
Seems legit
Maybe do a video on waterproofing this tent? To see if it resolves the issue ,plus...some of us dont know how to do this or how effective the stuff works.
@JediStockTrader I have a video on sealing a tent I’ll link it in the description. Thanks for the reminder.
Always amazes me how so many tents just plain suck!! Doesn’t seem like it should be that hard. Nice review as always
@Scott Plemmons I agree. Glad you liked the review. Thanks for watching
$40 tent. Can't expect the best. But as you said with a bit of work you have a pretty cool tent. I do like how the tent is versatile. If I had this tent I would put it into a silicone/ mineral spirit soak I would bet that would make it waterproof.
@Trucker Jon’s Outdoor Shenanigans I’ve been wanting to try that soaking method. That maybe coming soon. Thanks for watching
@Adventures with Spackmann I did a bedsheet last spring. Although, I didn't water test it I do believe it would be waterproofed. You will want to hang it outside or in the garage. It takes a few weeks for the smell to go away. I am planning on doing a jean Jacket. It will be interesting to see the results of that.
😮wet, not good. Love the stove. Thanks
@Quinn The Eskimo (Outdoors) the stove is awesome right! Thanks for watching
I like this tent especially the price. The stove you’re using in first part of the video is interesting as well. I’d like to know more about the stove.
@Views and Reviews for the price yeah. It’s got some cool options and it’s cheap. Oh the stove is so cool. I have one video that I explain everything I know about it. I plan to use it in more videos. Thanks for watching
I have the same tent i got told to set it up tight , soak it down let it dry in the sun then repeat and its supose to tighten up n seal any little holes from manifacturing mines never leaked
Hmmm yeah that didn’t work for me. They stopped manufacturing this tent as far as I know. It’s pretty cool still. Thanks for watching
Also did it leak prior to that?
I think I pressed my luck enough with the Stovehut 70 lol. I did get the improved version, so no leaks. Nice idea, but needs a lot better production.
@Logan a lot of people pressed their luck with the hut. Glad you got the updated one. Thanks for watching
It's a mountain cattle tent. I bought one last summer and did your infamous test 🤣 and failed. But it was cheap and I figured well I'll just give it to silicone test and no big deal
@Campman’s Outdoors ah that figures lol. Didn’t have luck with another mountain cattle tent. Thanks for watching
I can see you creating your own tent with all your favorites from all the ones you have. This is how history is made.👍🙌✌️🤗 ok not very waterproof.
@Crypto Kitty wish it kept water out better but I guess that’s what seam sealer is meant for lol. Thanks for watching
Spackman, i'm thinking you need to pair up with luke from outdoorgearreview at some point... i think ya'll would have a blast ;)
@jonas widegren that would be so cool! I would totally like to do that one day. Thanks for watching
Well that's a shame then, I was hoping this one would hold up well. I'd love to see you cook a nice big meal using the hobs and oven with that stove, like a roast dinner or something, I think it would be perfect for that
@Chris ‘CJ’ Jones yeah a little disappointed with it but $40 lol. A nice meal on that stove maybe in the future for us! Thanks for watching
I feel like you should be under Parental supervision not quite the full deck feeling going on here and yes more action shots of the stove please 😂
@Santana556 lmao you ain’t wrong! Just kid playing around getting stuff wet lol. My daughters are usually supervising me so we good. Stove will return! Thanks for watching
Yes to the stove. It’d be interesting if you seam sealed it and added a spray on waterproofing and re-did the test. Would it then pass? Cause $40 for the tent, $6 for seam sealer, $20(?) for spray on waterproofing, would it be worth the investment.
@Isheian I believe it would pass if you sealed it up. I thinks it’s a good budget option tent with a little work. Stove will be coming back! Thanks for watching.
I thought it was cool tent to bad it leaks all over the place definitely want to see more of that stove
@Tim Robinson yeah leaking isn’t good lol. Stove will be coming back. Thanks for watching
New Guide Gear $150 stove from Amazon is a tank. It is beefy you may want one they are the real deal! thick steel i'd say 1/8th to 3/16ths thick stove with1/4 inch thick cast door. 2 problems the little fire proof seal strips fall off around the door i threw mine away not needed and you have to run it outside for a few hours to cook off the chemical fumes from the coating. if i had the extra money I'd buy you one! it is so well made i couldnt buy the metal to build one for the price of the stove. flu pipes are very heavy duty as well!! Thanks for sharing and helping me to decide which tent to buy going to start overlanding in my jeep this year will need a good tent with stove port.... How about making a videowith that stove you got cooking food would love to see it in action bro! thanks again for the vids
@Doug St. Laurent oh sweet the stove came! Nice to hear about its quality. I bet it would heat like crazy. You’re welcome man glad you enjoy the videos. What tent are you getting or got? Thanks for watching
@@AdventureswithSpackmann No tent yet but i live in Maine it's extremely wet rainy, cold and miserable...lol hoping you might have some ideas probably be me and my 160lb dog 2 to 4 man tent.... your vids are helping me decidebut still unsure
@@AdventureswithSpackmann maybe the one tigris wall tent for 200 bucks or The One tigris 2-4 per hot tent..??..??
@@JeepTeriyaki I have the OneTigris hammock hot tent but haven’t tried it out. Quality seems good though.
@@AdventureswithSpackmann Hopefully you can do a review before i buy one. probably 3 to 6 months before my jeep restoration is finished so I've got time!
Yeah I just watched your test after I posted the first comment. I had the same issues with mine. Now that one is a different design mine is an earlier design and it did not come with the inner tent
@Campman’s Outdoors the inner is a nice addition. Is the inner the only difference you noticed?
The shape is also different. Just typical tipi hot tent octagon. That one is more "square". About the material of both tents is the same
@Campman’s Outdoors ah gotcha. Thanks.
I do want to see more of that stove. Do you have a nickname for it? Nicknames seem to keep things like cars and bikes alive longer.
Happy Sunday from my house- getting its own California water torture. Another few inches are coming down. Our town’s lake rose 19 feet if I read it correctly.
Cheers bro!
@Miles Robertson oh she needs a name bro! Maybe I’ll ask for a name when I take her out. Have you started work on the Ark yet?
Happy Sunday and stay dry bro. Thanks for watching
Broski I thought you said 40 dollar hot tent not a 40 dollar pool! I imagine water leaks in when the stove jack has a pipe going through it but man would I be heated if I was trying to get some Zzzzs and im just getting soaked. I dont think thats very safe if your out in below 0 temps. Its great seeing your videos and hopefull you have a outing video coming soon???
@Snarfimus I may head out for an overnighter this weekend. And a couple more trips planned. Make sure you bring your floaty for this tent lol. Thanks for watching
"Puddles-R-Us" lol
I would like to see you use the 100 year old stove in the Walmart wall tent to see if it would heat a bigger tent.
@Barry Dano THANK YOU SIR! First to mention it. Thank you for sticking it out to the end. Hmmm vintage stove in Walmart hot tent. Like it. Thanks for watching
Haven’t finished water testing my Gonex only bummer about that is doesn’t come with stove jack
@Kokadjo Outdoors yeah that was the kicker with the Gonex. This tents stove jack fit the Gonex like perfectly. I ended up sending the Gonex and this tents stove jack to a friend. Thanks for watching
@@AdventureswithSpackmann I might see if can get one from them as not a bad tent. I can weather proof it more if need be have stuff laying around. Usually use a spray on them all anyway just to be safe
@@kokadjooutdoors620 that’s best practice for sure.
Bake us some cornbread in that thang
@Paul Meade cornbread huh. Maybe. I’ve done chocolate chip muffins in it and they were delicious. Thanks for watching
Maybe only use it below freezing? For $40 heck, it can sit on a shelf until super cold weather hits... hence "hot tent".
What's the dimensions/length?
@ChillinDave 1 yeah fair weather tent or seal it up. It’s a 8’10” square. Thanks for watching
More of the stove? HECK YEAH lol. As for the tent. That will stay at Amazon lol. I would not like to get soaked in the rain.
@Jeff Jackson I have feeling more Stove is coming. Getting wet isn’t fun lol. Thanks for watching
@@AdventureswithSpackmann cool! No it's not fun. You are very welcome bud.
Tent description says 2 people can fit in the meshed enclosure. True or false?
@JediStockTrader I think it’s true and false. True without sleeping pads and false with sleeping pads. Regular sized one anyways. I didn’t try to fit two in but from looking at it, I don’t believe two sleeping pads would fit. Thanks for watching
If you put rainfly over, will that prevent water for leaking inside!
@Siripon Runkaputi sure will! Thanks for watching
Could you give Reference for this please?or brand name, stove
@Anastasia Hrytsenko it’s a vintage stove over 100 years old. I have a couple videos about here on the channel. I have no idea what the name is but in my original video someone found the original patent and linked it in the comments of that video. Thanks for watching
I really love that stove where did you get it buddy?
@Leave No Trace bought it off Craigslist a few years back. It’s so cool. I have a couple videos on it. Thanks for watching.
@@AdventureswithSpackmann Great find, good for you. I will watch the videos now. You take care!
@@leavenotrace8890 thanks! You take care as well!
That was a catastrophic failure!
I have a question for you, what pyramidish style tent that sleeps two people with a small stove, has the stovejack not close to the peak but closer to the ground (if that makes sense) and requires minimal guy lines to pitch would you recommend?
Obviously not for my oven stove! I have a smaller fold flat Russian that I really like but want something larger than my Polish Lavvu.
Yes to seeing more of that stove!
@TurtleWolf Pack this is the first pyramid tent I’ve looked at so can’t recommend another one. I understand the lower to the ground stovejack so it’s not near the pole right? This stove will be seen again! Thanks for watching
@@AdventureswithSpackmann that's why I said pyramidish. As long as it pitches with a center pole and doesn't require a lot of guy outs matters more. I was considering the Stove Hut but we get 3-4 feet of snow in the winter and can see 6" fall in a single evening so simplicity of pitch/ability to shed is much more critical.
Yes, the stove jack location you are spot on.
@TurtleWolf Pack my favorite teepee tent is from 3F UL Gear it’s their tribal tent. I have version 1 and they have made changes to it since then. The stove jack is center located though. FireHiking makes a good tent in my experience and they made a bigger version this year, 4-6 person I believe so perfect size for two. I think the stove jacks are in the middle of a wall. I’ve also heard good things about Pomolys teepees but can’t speak for them only what I’ve heard.
@@AdventureswithSpackmann thankyou!
@@turtlewolfpack6061 you’re welcome
Vary interesting tent to bad it leaks tho
@nd predator yeah I like the configuration options and a little seam sealer and it’s a pretty neat tent. Thanks for watching
What do you get for the promotion
@Tony Bakke there was not a sponsor for this video. I purchased this tent myself. It leaks like crazy. It’s still a cool tent in my opinion and for $40 and some seam sealer you’re good to go. The link is not an affiliate link either, it’s just the link from which I purchased it. Thanks for watching
its a cool LOOKing tent, to bad its as useful as a screendoor in a submarine, but I guess even with a couple cans of sealer its not a bad price
@Doc Ink I agree. Some seam sealer and you’re good to go. Thanks for watching…. Screen door on a sub lol
@@AdventureswithSpackmann A tarp over the top of it hung by a ridgeline so it doesn't touch the tent.
@@chrisw5742 yup tarp waterproofs anything. Great suggestion. Thanks for watching
Not a cool tent.... F yeah more stove....thx man! 🤘
@Hanging out with Bullfrog and Son lol yeah buddy! You’re welcome and thank for watching
If you have a free weekend in the summer I would like to meetup at yogi bear campground Lincoln delaware
@Robert Kreuger thanks for the invite. Same for you, Adirondacks NY, let me know. Thanks for watching
The listing says it's unavailable
@Shawn R someone else mentioned that. Darn. Thanks for watching
@@AdventureswithSpackmann couldn't even find it on the Canadian site
@Shawn R darn Canada sold out too. Sorry
Might not be that bad if you're not expecting rain/snow. 🤷
@night23fox good point. Fair weather tent. Thanks for watching
Wow, just the inner tent is worth $40
@Melissa Emery yeah! And the stove jack to boot. Little seam sealer(or a lot) and you got a nice budget tent. Thanks for watching
Tent is already sold out. 🤦🏾♂️
@Johnnie Edwards yeah it’s been sold out. Sorry bro. Thanks for watching
I guess you get what you pay for with this one lol
@Corey Gunzzz got that right lol. Thanks for watching bro
Tent no longer being sold, I think because it's a ripoff of a much more expensive branded tent, bummer.
@Cannon McCall oh darn. That didn’t last long. Sorry. Thanks for watching
Yeah, yeah, yeah…seal the seams, waterproof it, trim the threads, provide the poles, pray over it, go get everything you need but what is your time worth? I’d pass
@Renee Gordon time is very valuable. Good point. Thanks for watching.
"Puddles are us" is taken, please don't Google it. Lol. JK Google it and let me know how it goes.
@Mike Ghost lmao no way. That’s even better! Thanks for watching bro!
