Every since I was a kid in the 60's .410 was expensive and at that time was kinda extinct since the 30's like the 28 gauge that kinda reappeared in the 90's. Yeah I think you know you don't have a survival rifle' If I was going for the survival theme I'd buy 10,000 rounds of 28gauge and a 28 gauge gun because it has enough shot to drop game. But for an even better survival gun get either 12 or 20 gauge I'd get the single shot New England Firearms copy a 301 Savage, I think it is? I'd want it to have a vent ribbed barrel and 3 chokes and that's your survival gun right there. But a better choice would be a 500 Mossberg youth model with a short vent ribbed barrel and 3 chokes,... then get the adult stock and scope it and sight it in foe deer slugs. Then you pattern the gun with 6 or 7 1/2 shot.the find the thickest part of the pattern. You use a target divided in to inches and save that target so you always know where to aim. 500 Mossberg would be my first choice and the Savage 301 would be my other choice. If I was reloading alturnative loads then I'd get the 301 Savage. My point would be small game usually stays 30-40 yards away and 28-20-16-12 have enough shot to drop small game. I typically would run out the door prepared as to survive you would need more gear.
Yes I agree 410 isn’t the best option but the video is to show how you can turn a gun into a survival kit. This gun is sold in 12 and 20 as well and were just out of stock when I made my purchase. There are definitely better options out there and it’s not a SHTF grab just this gun and go buy more of a I’m out hunting and I can’t get home, what do I have on me? Type of thing. It's not totally bad for people on a budget and could be what saves a life. The real test would be for a survivalist dropped in a rough area with a satellite phone (in case they need to be located in an emergency during the test). I'd watch that.

Like number 128. I know this is not a rain test vidio. But i seen an A frame tent from Canadian tire . I love the looks of this tent. I would buy it if i knew it didn't leak. I looked everywhere on you tube and cant find any test for the Woods brand A frame test. Have you tested it??
I have not but Ozark Trail just came out with the same one, if I’m thinking of the same tent. I’ve wanted to order from Woods but previous I don’t think they shipped to me. I love my A Frame and a cheap tarp will make any tent waterproof. Just throwing that out there. Thanks for watching
I highly doubt that can be a better kit than the one you put together yourself. Yes, it will be more expensive, but you should invest in quality if we are talking about your life I believe.

If it was something like the standards in fire extinguishers A, B, C, D, E+ people would easily know what to expect from a survival kit. Perhaps if we talk enough about it could we promote a standardation of shorts?

Glad you got rid of that other cameraman. He didn't seem very bright to me. Speaking of not being too bright, I always thought it was a mistake to put the compass on the bracelet right next to the steel striker and the FERROS ......(iron) rod. @@AdventureswithSpackmann Ohhhh, I get it now. I thought you were just too big of a YT "survival star" to let yourself be rescued by a mere baby. Glad to learn you're not racist. 😆😆😆 The material starts with the word "ferro" which is the root of "ferrous", which mean containing iron. It also rusts. That's why they come painted. I know the striker is steel, so it should screw up the compass, if it's snapped around your wrist. Unbuckled and straightened out it may work. Try it and let me know before some 13 year old boy makes a 25 minute long video to demonstrate it on his new YT "outdoor survival" channel. LOL

I think the kit is right on the edge. If you add some snare wire, fishing line, hooks, and bait it would be a fairly good kit. I would like to see you build a kit or more on different budgets for sure! Also, your daughter is great!

Don't forget, the space blanket can also be used for emergency signaling. That small string on the card could be used for making a game trap. Or to lash a hook made from a beer can tab and hooked to a plastic bottle that you tie off with the bracelet cordage.

Actually the ones I have are all belt loops so it hangs right off my hip. I suppose I can strap it to the pack. But I like having it on me right next to my knife. I think I watched Castaway too many times

@@fishingthe910Thing is, are you trying to match the price point with equally low quality stuff? If you are you will lose because low quality junk is too easy to mass produce, buy in mass and assemble in China with cheap labor. A survival kit that isn’t junk is always going to cost more than $15. Heck, a decent knife is going to be more than that. Still, if you’re careful you can keep the total down. Those survival blankets in particular cost a lot less than they used to, a useful whistle and ferro rod can be dirt cheap, and personally I wouldn’t bother with those survival cards. What I didn’t see was a small flashlight. I’m a headband light guy myself and those have come way down in cost too. But making your own survival kit according to what you want is for another video, right?

I hear ya. I’m a fan of instant but can’t beat a great cup of coffee. And some people, including myself, like to pull up to a site and camp. Where the amount of gear doesn’t matter. That’s what this is more for. Thanks for watching
American measurements? My guess is that you mean Imperial instead of metric. The metric system is used all over the world so if you outsource to China you get metric if you don't ask for Imperial.

Thanks for not being useless and setting it up properly. Every other video I've seen for comparison has it sagging all over the place. This is on sale for $100, I'm going to grab it now! I love that stove.
$100 is a steal. The sagging could be from it getting wet. When it’s wet it sags pretty badly. Thanks for watching

Go to Good Will, yardsale, or ask a neighbor for old aluminum or stainless (hopefully without nonstick) and buy an old pot or pan and you have a more robust water boiling container than any kit will ever sell you.
