    In this video, my little brother and I paint his engine cover a burnt copper. In the light, the metallic flake looks unreal in person.
    Products Used 🛠
    Plastic Primer ▶︎ amzn.to/2cR6uyo
    Plastic Paint ▶︎ amzn.to/2cVu2pf
    Plastic Clear Coat ▶︎ amzn.to/2csXrRv
    The order in which you paint the cover is like this;
    Sand, Clean, Mask, Clean, Primer, Base Coat, Clear Coat, Enjoy
    You can go with any colour you like, whether it be red, blue, white, or pink. As long as you use a plastic primer, and plastic paint, and then a plastic clear coat, you will be in the clear.
    If you have any questions regarding the video, you know what to do. Thanks for watching!! :)

    one other important tip is to always check the paints humidity numbers. it's very important. you don't want to paint when humidity is to high or if it's to cold. I won't paint if the humidity is over 50% and if it's below 50 degrees Fahrenheit. easy way to remember this is just remember 50/50.

    You should use a plastic adhesion promoter underneath the primer. It will help the paint stick incredibly well.

    Came out looking good, dude. I personally would of let the paint cure for longer before applying the clear coat, and then would of waited like 12 before touching it with my hands to avoid finger prints. But that's just the way I learned. Good work, Milan!

    Very good. When you use spray paint.. each stroke should go PAST the piece... don't change direction while hovering over the piece, because where you change direction will get extra paint. The reason you're getting "tiger stripes" is because you're "spot" painting. Do looong strokes in each direction.

      @MGgamer1209 Před 7 lety

      Macca_Jaspar Using plasti-dip anywhere near the engine under the hood is risky and i wouldnt recommend it since plasti-dip has the potential to melt and ruin the area its on because of the hot engine temperatures. I'd stick to using engine enamel or other high temp resistant type of products.

    You forgot to mention that in order for VHT paints to actually withstand the high temperature of your engine and to activate the hardness of the paint you have to bake the paint in an oven (not your kitchen oven because of the fumes that lets off in the house) or you can use a heat gun (which takes a long time) warm it up to 200° for 30 minutes, Otherwise the high temperature aspect of the paint does not work and it will start crinkling over time. You can however cure it after it's installed on the vehicle by using these steps.
    Paint must be completely dry before curing
    Run at idle for 10 minutes
    Cool for 20 minutes
    Run at idle for 20 minutes
    Cool for 20 minute
    Run under normal operating conditions for 30 minutes
    Plus instead of using any old primer you really should be using VHT high heat primer and VHT high heat clear gloss.

  • @brian8431

    Oh and if you really wanted to shine after the gloss coat do several gloss coats and then buff it out, man that thing will shine
