At the lunch-in with her family it was supposed to be a light lunch, like don't talk about anything real heavy and what's the first thing she did? You guest it! I think that these two liked the drama, and like being on camera more than anything else.I would have said, I'm done when she lied to him, and I Mia shouldn't just walk back in and think everything was going to between them as though nothing even happened. Experiments do need failures though. In a lab you have a controlled variable, one with an absolutely certain outcome, the others you give little twists and quirks to, to see how it plays out, and just hope the null hypothesis doesn't win this time.

TM, he's no better. He knew marrying a stranger would be a challenge and decided to throw and even bigger challenge in right off the start -- to move! Who does that not only to a new relationship but a new marriage to a stranger? If he knew his business required him to move why didn't he come forward with this BEFORE the interview process so they could have accessed if a woman would be interested in moving. Moving is a really BIG thing. So he pulled this HUGE decision on her right away, even though he's a complete stranger, and then gets upset because she pulls this on her family? huh?
They both sabotaged any chance of a healthy relationship right from before the start - her with the charges and him with his choice to move; but his final sabotage of showing his wife a pic of his ex in a bikini? What? Who does that to a new wife? Basically he's stalking his ex and showing his wife that he's stalking her. At least Mia didn't stalk her ex while she was married to him.
These 2 need massive counselling before starting relationships.
T M Yes that particular event would be a non-issue, but the dude admitted he had comittment problems. It's an easy guess that sabotaging is his particular mode of disfunction. She gave him a lot of targets and it was all set up for failure on both sides rather than set up for success.

Tristan is the oh so toxic one that is so abusive but Mia was arrested for stalking and being crazy but everyone forgets that. Clearly there's something wrong with the public if they can't see someone like Mia being a RED FLAG ESPECIALLY when she lied about it. I did't expect this to last at all. First of mia wasn't into him from scratch. Her facial expression alone said "i dont like him" secondly tristan needs to grow up. They just wasn't a good match at all. Plus they both look full of themselves.
I still can't decide if I like this show or not. It's very interesting, but it seems to make games out of people's lives.
Exactly d same thing on my mind. Why shld a set of so called psychologists gamble with people's lives and emotions, and these people submitted thier lives and futures to be gambled with! There are a lot to learn for us viewers anyways, but for the participants, it doesn't worth it.
I think the idea is a good one and I think they spend a significant amount of time vetting these people. What gets me is in the intros, they say these people have spent so much time looking for love, exhausting themselves in the process and make it seem like this show is their last ditch effort in ever finding true love. When in actuality, if they are truly ready for love and marriage, they would view it as such and not just an extended date.

I lost faith in the show's ability to vet people when Mia got arrested. I know that the show claims that the warrant against Mia was filed after they did the background check, but there's absolutely no excuse for that kind of error when marrying strangers.

d carlson I just watched the entire season in three days and I don’t recall a single time he lied or sabotaged their chances of making it. It’s possible his situation changed the same way Mia had a clean background on the day the producers ran a check. Then according to those same producers the next day an arrest warrant was filed. So I guess if they can change for her, they can change for him too. Mia’s arrest sabotaged their honeymoon and her walking out sabotaged their minimoon. If anything Tristan tried to protect her honor when it came to the group.

I have to agree about Mia. I’m really surprised to read people had so many strong emotions about Tristan. True he made lots of jokes but that’s who he is. He does run three businesses that focus on kids. It’s conceivable that he would have a playful side. Mia on the other hand was a mess from jump. I could tell from the first episode that she was hiding a lot. You don’t get ARRESTED for stalking unless you have some crazy tendencies. I never trusted her and I Tristan tried to make the best of a crazy situation. There is something odd about a person who buries her head in the chest of every man she hugs. Much like a child seeking love and validation. I think Mia has a lot more secrets she is keeping.

He’s not perfect but I think he tried to make it work however it’s difficult to trust someone that lies repeating. I thought that the experts should have made an executive decision and pulled them off the show, when they realized Mia's history and deceit. However, I still did not like Tristan for her, he chose to stick around and work through everything but was so mean and impatient with her. As for Mia, of course she's no angel and seems to have issues, as we all do but I was wondering aswell, why does she hug him like that? I thought that was pretty weird. I'm just happy they got a divorce, they should have never stay married in the first place but it's a lesson learned for everyone.

A marriage is a two-way street. You can't expect for your husband to completely trust you when you have mistrusted him from day 1 of the marriage. Trust takes time. She should've went in with the mentality of putting Tristan first, especially after breaking his trust. But her actions speak louder than words, she has never been committed to this marriage from the get go. She never respected her husband because she is always talking bad about him and not actually acknowledging that she had fibbed, but she still expected the gold-star treatment. Girl, get a grip.
All the hate is from people who are mad that he prefers light skin women... Mia was arrested on the show on an outstanding warrant relating to stalking her ex and people are just ignoring it like it's no big deal... 99% of men will not involve the police/court's when it comes to their relationship with women so Mia must off pushed her ex so far he had choice but to involve them. Also the courts don't hand out restraining orders like candy on halloween especially on women with no actual evidence that it was needed... She also had to do something to violate that order of protection and not show up to court to get an outstanding warrant on her. But they want to act like he's the devil and act like Mia is perfect marriage material...
I knew from the very beginning that these two will not last. Pls can you show us more about Shawniece and Jephte? Would like to know where they are now. If they're together, then Shawniece did a good job.she really fought for her marriage. Jephte 's a great guy. I saw lots of timidity, nervousness and lack of trust on his side. The experts and TLC failed this couple and I don't like that Dr. Jessica talks about being "disappointed" that the marriage did not work out when Mia should not have been matched with anyone. A proper background check should have been done. Clearly, Mia has yet to come clean on a lot about herself. How in the world could EXPERTS interact with Mia and think she should be matched with anyone, let alone for marriage?! This match should never have happened.
I knew they were divorced. My daughter and I watched the show and I looked it up and found out that she filed on September 4th. That is when I realized the taping was way behind real-time. He was so rude and disrespectful to her all season. It was so hard to watch. Even when he "put her things out" and threw that candle saying it was hers. She was much better than I ever could have been but I understand not wanting to give up on such a serious commitment. On the way to the final trip and he started that argument over what David or whoever told him and then tried to act innocent like the way she responded caused the argument, I was done. I was hoping she would leave then and not return. So, I am so, so happy for her. Overall, I would not go on a show with such a low track record of success. Although it is intriguing, why gamble with something so important.

She was arrested on an outstanding warrant relating too a restraining order for stalking her ex. She claims that he for no reason started showing her pictures of his ex and bragging about how beautiful she is but that was just a baseless claim to come across a the victim... It was so made up that the panel didn't even asked him about it. Even when talking about the divorce she couldn't keep her lie straight... All the hate is from him preferring light skinned women...

Her self esteem would have to be pretty bad to even think about settling for him.

personally I found that they were not a good match from the beginning with her background being different than his own and even still at the wedding not saying that you have to all out kiss your husband but the fact that you turned away claim it that you don't do those types of things concerning physical affection when you first meet someone then why go on a show where everything is Fast Track is beyond me. when it was time for the honeymoon the fact that she found herself under arrest for stalking theft and whatever other charges to which she originally told him she knew nothing of but then turned around and said she knew who it was she knew what it was in reference to so you lied which ultimately changed his opinion of how she moves and she can be deceiving which breaks trust for him overall no they should have stopped after the reality set in that although they try to move on past what happened at the airport it was clear that they were not going to stay together.

Tristan acts like he has every solution because of his mother's position in the church. It seems like Mia wasn't comfortable with his size and scared of his reaction if she told the truth. He continued to pick fights and argue like he is the woman in the relationship. Dave acted normal. Guys will argue and possibly change the subject. I didn't like how Tristan searched for subjects to fuss about. He definitely lived around women who were combative. I would a left time too.
