    I love to travel alone!
Reasons why I love solo travel:
    1. I make my own itinerary.
    2. I save more money because I decide where to eat and stay.
    3. I handle my own time. No pressure if Im fast or slow or late haha.
    4. I meet new friends! I love talking and making new friends and learning from them.
    5. I got to know myself better.
    6. I became independent.
I did 4 solo travels (and counting) cant wait to travel more once this pandemic is over.
Btw, I love you and your vlog (as always) thank you for being such an inspiration!!! Hope to meet you one day ❤️🙏 Im such a huge fan!!

Once you go solo, the idea of having to plan a trip with someone else seems annoying. I absolutely love this. I solo travel all the time (over 30 countries and counting). The best places to go to meet people are hostels and events. Always google the latest scams in the area (especially on transportation). I went a trip by myself to Strasbourg, France on Saturday and it filled my energy cup. I got to cafe-sit, people-watch, eat churros and take in the scenery without distraction. I have a fiance whom I adore and long to be close to and fully supports my trips alone and we enjoy trips together. Solo travel is normal for a lot of people. Don't be discouraged by the naysayers. xxSafe Travelsxx

Those are comparatively safe destinations for women. Just do your research on the cultures (and take a detailed look at the crime stats - in many parts of the world the rates of murder and rape are high but rarely involve travelers) and stay alert.
Countries I really wouldn't travel alone are India and most Islamic countries. And maybe a few in south America and Africa but that can vary a lot.
It also depends on the type of travel you do or traveler you are. Eg. being out late at night is always more dangerous no matter what part of the world you're in but ppl still do it.

I'd agree with a lot of that. I've done a number of trips as a solo female from my 20's onwards and most people you meet overseas are indifferent at worst, friendly and helpful at best, but you must always keep aware of your surroundings. I make a habit never to drink or have headphones in when I'm out and about alone in potentially risky situations. It's just not worth putting yourself in that sort of position if you are unlucky and someone without the best of intentions is about (and I also agree that should be always, not just when overseas). If something feels off, then consider leaving/not going. Better to be safe than sorry. Be cautious of being approached by overly friendly people who then suggest they show you the sights, a cool shop or a resturant to eat, they might be genuine, but there's a good chance you're about to get scammed or worse so think carefully about whether their story is making sense. (I was approached many times, I wonder if you're a solo traveler you may be seen as a bit of an easier mark and you notice the similaries in the pitches after a while) But, there's no point assuming everyone is out to get you either as that's simply not true at all. Most people are decent human beings, and I've been surprised by just how helpful and nice some have been when I've had an issue when overseas.
Also do some basic reading and research so know where you're going, what to expect, cost of living, what the common risks are, health concerns to be prepared for (water, vaccs, water/insect borne diseases etc) and so you're less likely to run afoul of local laws or customs. When you're in another country, if you respect the local laws and customs, it's not only polite, but means you're less likely to upset anyone or get yourself into trouble. Not just relevant to solo traveling either.
Don't be afraid to get off the main tourist traps either as a solo traveler. The best thing I did on my first overseas solo trip was to decide to plan much of it myself, rather than relying entirely on the travel agent. I actually hated some of the things they planned, but loved most of the stuff I organised myself (they couldn't book anything related to a place I wanted to go so I just decided to go for it and take my chances.) It was all done on a super short notice time frame, so you can just go for it without everything being overly planned out, but I still had a good idea of what I was going to do and when. (Which kinda got thrown out the window when a bad storm hit one of the places I was meant to go and delayed the trip, but if you don't panic you can often sort it out.) Travel agents can be good for booking flights though. I've found a few times they've managed better deals (or at least matched) than I could find online, and then you have someone to call to help if stuff going belly up with the flights which obviously happens sometimes with connecting flights being missed or canceled for whatever reason. Get travel insurance also. Read travel reviews for hotels, locations and tours on places like trip advisor, then take them with a grain of salt. Some may be false, but you can often get a feeling for how good a place will be for a solo traveler from them before committing to go there. Picking a common tourist destination as your first solo trip can also be helpful to find your feet as it'll be much easier to find options if you get stuck at any point.
I also agree with giving trusted people your itinery and telling them you'll check in at regular intervals. Get a local sim if staying any length of time and give them your number so they can call if concerned that you haven't checked your email in days (probably due to poor internet.) Some countries also have a register you can sign up for so that if there is some kind of unexpected disaster, they know you're there and will hopefully come looking to help you out. Keep photocopies of all your important ID and travel papers in different bags. Put locks on your backpack zips or carry them in front if anywhere where theft might be likely to reduce the chances of losing something important. (Such as crowded places.)
People often ask me if I get lonely, but I'd have to say if you're traveling alone, you're far more likely to strike up conversations and make friends as you go along.. Personally I think it's a very good idea to have a basic plan before you go that you can work to and budget for. Not everything has to be booked depending on what you're doing, but it's nice to know things like what days and times a ferry/train runs, prebook accomodation before arriving (especially if local festivals, holidays or events are in effect or it's a small place with limited options will save you a lot of stress) If things change, you can often change with it, but if there's no plan at all, you could get stuck in some way sooner or later.
Oh yeah almost forgot! As you're the only one funding your trip in attendance. Have a back up method of getting cash (Extra cards etc) and carry at least some petty cash in local currency for times when you may not be able to access money. One time before I'd even departed, the ATM at first stop over (before I'd even left my home country) ate my primary ATM card shortly before I was due to board the connecting flight!!! If I didn't have a back up card I could use I would have been in so much trouble at that point! Not worth the stress.
But yeah, I do love the freedom that comes with solo traveling. You can decide to go and do what you want on your own time. Just needs a bit more preparation to make it a good experience.

Good common sense tips espec for safety. So true, our home turf can be just as dangerous as most other places in the world - we're just familiar with it so we FEEL safe (that's not to say it is safe but you can't allow that to stop you from living life - just need to stay alert)
