Features I like about the 924:
    Large Display.
    High Capacity Battery.
    FM Reception is Tops.
    Carry Strap.
Headphone Jack is Stereo on BT/MP3 Playback.
    Incremental, and Seek Tuning function.
    Clock, with Alarm.
Shortwave Band is Easy to Tune. Long Press Tuning Buttons to Move Quickly through the Band.
    Decent Speaker Audio.
    Station Memories.
Solid USB Power Output to Charge your Phone. 5V/2A.
    Large Reflector Styled Flashlight.

Features that could be Added or Improved on:
Remove Auto Screen Light Activation when Solar Panel Receives a Charge.
A manual Switch for the Reading Lamp.
Use an Amber LED for the Screen Back Light.
Overall, if this Radio is on Sale it is a worthy pick up. Shortwave is fun to Tune, along with FM as well. The MP3 Player sounds great, and is a must to help keep you occupied when nothing else is working.

Love the large display on this one!

Shortwave is always a great selling point for an “emergency radio”. Your reviews are very helpful. The shortwave band on this radio seems to work well for what it is.

I love your reviews Mr Bert. I value your opinion and I have purchased gear based on your reviews.

I’d seen this radio on Amazon and am glad you reviewed it. The 10K milliamperes battery is the biggest selling point of this radio if everything else adds up: and it seems it does. I bought a Mesqool CR1009PRO with a 5000 mah battery and I can’t complain much about it. If I did buy another emergency radio it would be a Kaito Voyager 2 and a KA500.

Hi Todderbert, thanks for the review. Mmm, the Prunus J-924 looks very nice, and I love the dark green color. But I agree with you, Todderbert. If this radio had an amber backlight display light, it would have been so lovely. Also, the other improvements you mentioned would be nice. I'm actually looking at some new emergency radios on Amazon US and other shopping sites. I should be sleeping, but I had too much coffee today, so I'm going into overdrive take care Todderbert and have a nice evening.

Neat radio overall. I am wondering if the micro SD card interferes with seating of the rubber seal. If I were to make design changes would trade a bit of battery capacity for better AM (MW) sensitivity ( larger ferrite ant) and as noted eliminate the forced on display when solar charging which would only steal current away from battery charging. Thanks.

Nice radio, if it had a more sensitive MW would be super duper.

Happy 4th Chicago! The problem is it's likely if the FM towers are having an emergency, that's your emergency. Wind up/solar radio or not! Usaww!

Did you notice the compass on the radio?

Yeah, it doesn't work, so I didn't mention it.

Does it know DAB(+)? The first places here in europe will shut down FM radio in 5 or 6 years, or so I heard.

The amazon listing says it does. This would be a good device for my garden shed.

Possibly in Europe, my USA radio does not have DAB since we do not have that service yet.
