@MullinsTheRapper A lot of people don't realize Daigo and Kazunoko were like the PIONEERS of Yun; i.e. they played Yun from release of AE to the highest level and THEN the tier list was formed.
"Don't press a button." You've got to me kidding me. Anyone who blocks all day (especially against a character with a command grab..-like YUN) will be the easiest opponent possible. A smart player like Daigo will adapt to ANYTHING you do. It's not THAT easy. "Don't press a button." oh my god
@HartleySan I think Tokido just needs to work on the matchup more. The Daigo matchup, not Yun. ;)

No surprise here... Daigo is so far the best Yun player and Tokido said that Yun is a very hard match up for him since AE released in arcades.
i have a day off on sunday, i look forward to going to evo and seeing Daigo win it all again lol
Yeah. She is more of the "just get in there" type. Getting in there is a huge challenge though. But you get used to it.
God dammit, I logged out of Skype mere minutes before watching this and thought there was a phantom Skype.
Eh well with Mak (I am 3065 PP atm), you don't use walk. You travel by instant axe kicks, rush punches, jumps, or forward MP. And yes, it pisses me off how everyone has a "gtfo me" move except Makoto. But I guess that balanced out with her incredible offensive game.

@ed5063 Not really random only in America Fuudo is known as one of the strongest Feis at Mago level play in Japan he just doesnt travel alot. I bet well see him alot now though.
This is professional gaming we are talking about here. So there is absolutely nothing wrong to pick up a character that most likely leads to victory. But as a Ryu player myself, I've found disappointed that Daigo has switched to Yun :(

@BenOmarbaOmar Daigo didn't even make top 3. The winner was a Fei Long player named Fuudo.
@Method2k5 I definitly agree! and as far as i'm concerned it's not just tokido who has problems with ''the twins'' i think everyone has problem with them at this point, they are just too strong you know... but we'll see how that turns out when ''AE'' gets a balance patch.
i'm just hoping that ''the twins'' get nerfs in one way or another if not i'm afraid we might see a decade of yun's dominating tournaments like in ''3RD STRIKE'' Just sayin'
how do you know if the other guy isn't going to throw you? there are kara throws, tick throws, whiff-to-throws. i already said tokido was pressing buttons for the sake of tech-ing, not pressing buttons just for the sake of it.

Tokido didnt throw the match, Daigo always pubstomp him in the arcades. He said that multiple times in his blog.
yun is my secondary but i'm pretty glad those dive kicks got nerfed in AE2012. crazy shit.
Wow most ppl think daigo picks top tier characters but the truth is every character is top tier - get over it he's just the better player
I think fighting games need overpowered characters with slight weaknesses, makes the game hype again and makes ppl try harder with other characters, hence the beatdown Diego would receive later that night by the hands of Seth lol.

well you know just blocking won't do it...ProjectIdiot already mentioned the command grab yun has. at some point you will NEED to do teleport or attack yourself, otherwise you will get bodied against somebody like daigo. the sad part is that even teleporting was counters by daigo with an option select, so even that isn't save. so what's left? blocking and at some point trying to hit yun (maybe with shoryuken). so it's always risky to do anything about yun,especially daigos yun.

Yun has low health though. Yun does take skill to learn, as with all characters. Daigo just doesn't like there be any room for Akuma to move.
@10mjkop Latif beat out Daigo and Poongko in the losers bracket then went on to face Fuudo for the finals but we beaten. Latif used C. Viper, Daigo used Yun of course, Poongko used a nightmare Seth and Fuudo won with Fei Long

i think everybody that plays street fighter uses ryu, the jump.mp hast changed the only thing that is different is you cant follow up with heavy shoryuken.. he got buffed pretty good too, after a CH ex fireball you can get a full ultra 2
Anyway i think youre taking this abit too personal, all i was saying was that Yun needed to be nerfed because he was without a doubt the best character in the game

you have to tech the throw eventually, or else it'll just be like daigo vs hsien chang in evo 2012.
daigo knew hsien chang wasn't tech-ing throws, so he grabbed him all day.
And yun isnt easy to play with those combos he was pulling off takes alot of timing. Im pretty sure he can play almost every character on the roster since he literally lives street fighter. But i guess it doesnt matter since people will still talk shit about him even if he picks low or mid tier. Like the commentators said, Daigo made Ryu strong

@asganashi Akuma was NOT top-tier in 3rd Strike. Aside from the famous Chun/Yun/Ken trinity, Dudley, Makoto and Yang were also ahead of him on every tier list ever published.

lol. People in Japan complained about Daigo using the best characters? You don't consistantly remain the best, due to your character selection.
@iTouchin What makes you determine that Ryu wasnt "the best"? If we are talking about tournaments, then one character being estimated as a higher tier than the other doesn't necessarily make it a better character in a tournament. If for example Sagat has an estimated advantage over 15 characters, and Ryu only over 11, BUT more of Ryu's advantages are against tournament-popular characters than Sagat's, then Ryu would be better for tournaments.
I feel like tokido was more interested in seeing how daigo plays yun, i mean i know daigo is a great player, but tokido isn't that big of a scrub to lose like that

pressing buttons is not simply for teching. its not only just to tech throws, its to punish dropped links, start your combo,etc. what initiative are you talking about? block and see what the opponent does? if that is an initative then teching os is an initiative as well. these are all initiatives, i agree that tokido used the wrong strategy during the match, but you're talking as though everyone should just block and see what the opponent does against divekick characters.

The Twins and Fei do NOT need to be nerfed. Everyone else needs to be buffed. Leave those guys alone. Restore Sagat, Akuma, Ryu and Rufus to Vanilla form. Restore Chun-Li, Guile, Abel, Honda and Cammy to Super form. Those are the changes I'd like to see in this "rebalance" patch.
It won't happen that way, though, since it's the whiny scrubs who always get their way when games get rebalanced.

nah, i sure its like this. ken was the best in 3rd strike, ryu the best in ss4, and yun is the best AE. Daigo just play the best characters.

Great to see Daigo playing such an attacking character. I know Yun is S tier, but still at least the dickhead scrubs who say he just "spams" fireballs now have to reasses their lives.
This is why Yun was nerfed.
I'm sorry, but Tokido is an awesome player, and if he gets beat that badly by Yun, even if it's Daigo Yun, that ain't fair.
