While this might seem like a new product for the aerial giant, DJI has been in this space for many years. I had a blast building, programming and battling with the new DJI Robomaster S1. It's been years since I've ever built something like this and I was shocked to get it assembled and powered on the first try. DJI is taken something that was once not only complex on the design, engineering and programming side, and made it very simple and easy to use.

Very COOL! I have been following the RoboMaster league for 2 years now and I'm so tickled that DJI have fielded the S1, which I consider the "Son of the Soldier". Also, I find very original to see four reviewers from very different areas of interest come together to produce review videos. Also, so nice to see your son get into the project! He'S a natural! I wonder who came up with the concept?

I use Scratch to teach 8-12 year olds to code... So this should be a very fun exercice to go through as an adult.
So much hype at release and many months have passed. How is the RoboMaster S1 now? Has your son lost interest? Is he actually learning Scratch programming?
What a great educational toy from DJI teaching robotics and Python! It reminds me of the ‘turtle’ and Logo programming... but far better. Sadly it is not yet available in Australia and the gel blaster would probably be a prohibited weapon as it would be classified as a firearm in most states.

Great video showing off some DJI ground tech. After DJI conquered the skies now they're going terrestrial LOL. Now we'll wait for the DOT [Department of Transportation] to come out with some governing guidelines.

Looks like all the programming are done by block diagram style drag and drop. You're programming instructions to the robot and this is not really coding. This can get rather boring fast. Does the Robomaster support any actual coding in Python? I want to write my own program and upload it into the Robomaster to do things. Coding is where fun begins and the possibilities are limitless.
