  • Pacific NW Boater demonstrates "How2" apply new vinyl graphics on your vessel. In this demonstration, using new vinyl letters from Prism Graphics in Seattle, the "wet" application process is used for the boat name and the "dry" application process for the hailing port.

Good video. Wondered if you might have used masking tape to 'register' the corners so that everything is level and straight (for we amateurs!)

Mate, top Vessel name is awesome. How did your Tain such a beautiful and multicoloured decal? I’m only able to find folks with layered approached requiring multiple applications. This would be the exact kind of product. Does it have a specific name of the product. I’m in Australia so will need to source. Thank you and Happy New Year.

Nice install you could have measured down from the window frames to insure the hailing port was perfect,
Never trust the bottom of letters because the plotter runoff can be off on large production machines, awesome boat too!

How do you determine whether to use the wet or dry technique? Thank you!

Hi David - It depends on time and confidence. The wet method takes a little bit longer, but gives you the opportunity to make corrections with the graphic actually in place. For smaller applications like state registration numbers where it's very easy to eye whether or not it's level, if you're confident it's straight then the dry method works just fine. We're going to redo our boat name (we painted the hull), and we'll do the large name with the wet method again. Probably stick with dry for the hailing port.
