The better place objectively for FSU is the SEC from a recruiting standpoint and a financial one, but the FSU community really seems to hate the SEC and the SEC does not want anyone who really seems to hate them. I think FSU will settle into being a Wisconsin level program with a move to the Big 10. The Auburn coach can talk to the kid who grew up in Albany about getting to play against Georgia and Alabama and how much football means to SEC schools and the richer NIL money from SEC schools. The FSU coach has to sell the excitement of playing Penn State, playing half your games in the cold, and more academic rigor to the same kid. That is going to lose you a lot of battles. Over time, the recruiting downside and geographic isolation will make FSU a 2nd tier Big 10 program.

FSU would die on an SEC Island earning half of what all the B1G schools make, after adding ND because no matter who the SEC adds they will never be able to catch up to the B1G financially no matter who they add. Plus the only way FSU earns their AAU membership is if they join the B1G.

@@roris5882, and Michigan and Ohio State will still dominate the entire B1G. Rutgers, Maryland, Nebraska, etc., will still be terrible teams that can't recruit, and recruiting for ND will still be terrible as well, because it's still the middle of nowhere Indiana drenched in Catholicism. And new addition of Washington and the idea of playing for the Apple Cup sounds, "sooooo exciting", for recruits from the South.

@@roris5882 why? FSU can earn an AAU anywhere. UF has had one for years. Heck USF has AAU. FSU doesn’t have AAU because it’s a research cash grab. FSU is a liberal arts college and doesn’t fit this. FSU is tearing themselves apart financially to get this. Glad they’re going to making all this $$ they are going to need it.
