In 2006 it had been 18 years since they'd lived in their old apartment. Now in 2024 it's been 18 years since they revisited it. I'm guessing the last 18 years have passed much faster for those guys. That's how it feels when you get old!
Conan is the only late night presenter that's genuinely funny on his own.
Don’t get why Conan fans always need to say this. Conan is my favorite but I do think Colbert is hilarious as well.

When I was in architecture school, we went to Chicago for our yearly field trip. I love informing people from NYC that Chicago is more important than NYC. It and the suburbs are seminal to architecture from the (nearly all of the first) skyscrapers to FLW, Mies, Sullivan, the White City, and world class urban design. One of our 2nd Year professors told us that going to Chicago in one's 2nd year of arch school is comparable to a secret handshake amongst architects.

I was there on May 10th, 2006 at the Chicago Theater for an episode of Conan's show, the day before this episode aired.
I saw the "Happy, Happy, Good Show" in that year and I remember Conan appearing in a diaper as the Kennedy baby just saying "deep, deep, ..." which was the whole sketch. If I am not mistaken, the Super Fans sketch was invented out of that show.
The building was torn down a couple of years after the original film date of this segment.

They didn't show the windowless room that Jeff had Conan sleep in during one of the hottest summers in Chicago history. Also Jeff said that almost every night they would do a fake talk show in the living room where Conan was the host and he was the guest.
