There are very few front men or women who look entirely at ease in front of the mic - but Alex Harvey was coolness personified . Such a great talented man , and his band were just sensational.
Just makes me cry...every f'ing time I watch it. It's so........dunno, it's all just big feelings and not a word that'll go with them....Sensational perhaps? Or maybe just weeping for humanity as I draw closer to leaving it in it's current dire straits?
I completely agree with you and I think It's pure human magic performed just for us who understand! I wish I could hug the remaining members and thank them for Blessing my music soul! I wish I could personally lay down flowers at the resting place of Alex's and Ted's.
I lived in Philly, USA, in the '70s. A rock journo. I went to Allentown, PA, to see SAHB. Spent the nt in the hotel bar w them. Slow danced w Alex. Incredible band and a sweet, sweet man. Miss him still. 2013

From Mustard to Tear Gas, I watched Zal grow to be this shockingly large part of SAHB, the face make up...the outfits...along with Chis C.....The boldness of SAHB was before its time.....Glasgow and music never ceases to be prominent in what took place then, what takes place today....The song just rides along with Alex just controlling the performance of the band.....priceless stuff
My friend Pete used to act out the part to "Man In the Jar" and sang every word through the entire song. (1974) Then we'd laugh our asses off. I can't think of any other song quite like that one.

I don't even know where "Ragnarock" is, but my friend Pete and I were rocking out in Lansing MI. to SAHB's Impossible Dream album in 1974/75. I didn't know the song Midnight Moses, but had I been at this concert listening to this song, I would've been dancing my ass off. What a bunch of dead asses in the audience...except for the two naked rockers enjoying the jam.
