Parin is NOT Spock's mother . she is Sarek's second wife who also happens to be human . cause Sarek has a fetish for humans I guess
It's Perrin! (And yes, she was Sarek's second hoe.) 😅
It’s two things. The round ears, and human bondage outfits. He likes being forced into a gimp suit and ball gag during his Pon Farr.
Mark Lenard is only in one scene for a few moments, but he's outstanding. The way he is a emotional, uncontrolled shaking Vulcan and then he stands up, straightens himself up and becomes entirely logical and Vulcan is brilliant.
5:49 Gul Madred : Quickly Picard! How many lights are there?!
Picard : Have we met?
I don't think Perrin is Spock's mother - Spock is like 150 years old, no way his human mother is still alive. She's just another woman Sarek married, seems he's into human women lol
His real mother was in a TOS episode.
Confirmed. Spock's mom was named Amanda. Small forgivable error on Angle's part, though.
Earth girls are easy.
@@mrmeyerhofer Perin would be his step-mother.
That his Spock’s step mother .
Malachi Throne also played Commodore Mendez in the Original Series 2-parter The Menagerie (Parts 1 and 2)
update: Throne also provided the voice of the keeper in those episodes and also in the rejected pilot: The Cage
The scene with the Zakdorn was actually the best part of this episode. The story about that fourteen-foot-long Caldorian eel he once found and still owned as a pet was just priceless.
I LOVED the junkyard guy. He is one of my favorite one-off side characters. He is just so awesome in the low amount of fucks he gives.
4:03 Riker : I don’t believe this ‽‽ Arm phasers and photon torpedoes!
0:38 Agaiiiin!!! Does that happen every year?
lol
The Klingons do make sense because they needed a cloaked ship to infiltrate the Romulan empire, and the Federation doesn't have any cloaked ships (granted, the show hasn't addressed "why" yet).
The Romulans would only have had a heads up about Picard being on the planet from the Klingons, or a spy in the federation, but this is a plot element that is completely ignored or forgotten.
Which makes sense, since the audience knows they are onto Picard and Data but the characters don't.
By the time they learn that the Romulans know who they are, it's already clear that there is a traitor in Spock's own ranks, so they still would have no reason to suspect a spy in the Klingons or the Federation.
The Romulans probably have hundreds of spies, sources etc in the Federation and the Klingons.
I think Malchi Throne also played the comador in that episode where Spock takes Pike to Talos IV
Perrin is NOT Spock's mother. That would be Sarak's first human wife, Amanda.
Don’t listen to those trolls, you guys do top work. I still believe in your channel! 👍
Perrin was Spock's step-mother. His mother died Hundreds of years before.
Not "hundreds", probably decades. Spock himself is only about 150 in this episode.
Just found your channel.
Thanks for the content. I hit sub at the intro it’s funky.
You sit at home and comment on TNG episodes yet you need 5 people to bring you sandwiches?
Between you guys, Garand Daddy and Brandon Herrera, my night shift is complete.
No Corporal's Corner, though?
Loved this 2 parter. Felt like a mini movie
This episode can be a commentary on forced re-unification by China on Taiwan. Or Russia on Ukraine.
Re-unification with Taiwan is part of Chinese nationalist culture. But we need to understand that this also true of Russian culture on Ukraine.
The Russians would have invaded Ukraine even if NATO did not exist or turned it into a puppet state.
If Reunification is part of Russian culture, then what has been slowing them down for decades?
NATO. it slows down the forced -reunification of former Soviet States.
Putin brought back the Soviet Natonal Anthem in his first term in office 20+ years ago.
Cold war experts and professors erroneously blame NATO because they don't understand how Russians think.
Critiquing this helps us improve for the next time.
"Cheez whiz"
😏
Awesome!
😁😄😅🤣😂🤣😅🤣😂
Amanda is Spock's mother.
With the Romulans being as xenophobic as they are, and the seemingly low level of technology in the town that Picard and Data visit, it seems odd that every Romulan would have a universal translator, right? Yes, Picard and Data could understand what is bein said, but wouldn't they give themselves away the moment anyone heard them speaking english/federation? You guys' skepticism is rubbing off on me...
Something Trek handled poorly was technology level of other cultures. San Francisco looks like a space city while everywhere else is in the Bronze Age. The Klingons are the exception: they're Stone Age cave people who somehow have spaceships. Even Vulkan is primitive. It's literally a bunch of rocks. It looks like some random asteroid or moon, not the heart of a massive federation.
Great job as always. ♥
All bad guys have to do is say it's not a trap. The enterprise always falls for it. Every time.
Why did you whatch this series?
I kinda like your reviews but it also sounds that you hate it???
It's just part of their humor. They are also doing a heavy critique from a writing perspective.
A Klingon Lynn Boyle!?
Great
How many times does that happen....Just disable that ship Worf........blejdjdkwnfhfjfj. Sorry sir.
1:27 I realize the producers probably went to the prop department and told them to make some generic Space Debris, but the parts of the Vulkan ship look ridiculous. And, no, it didn't look much better on low def television. It looks like five different people had five different ideas of what Space Debris looked like, which is probably what actually happened. They would have been better off going to the junkyard and using sparkle glitter spray paint on some engine parts and panels.
So now you hate “The Mummy” how does someone so sardonic have the energy to give a review on a show you clearly are frustrated by.? You need to play the Curb your Enthusiasm music whilst giving your final thoughts. Namaste!
First view XD
@If Chris Benoit Had A Son He'd Look Like Trayvon woah there buddy, that's a little harsh...
This entire CZcams series is like if Tom Brady and Gronk watched leatherhead football games from 1915 and critiqued every single play held each player to 2021 NFL standards. It's good for a few laughs at first but after a while it just seems to be cruel and completely ignorant of the time and context in which the content was originally produced. TNG was made in a different universe, as far as television production is concerned. Most of this shit was being done for the first time. You guys sound like petty clueless zoomers trying to compare it to the expanse or game of thrones or something. Give it a rest.
They're doing all this tongue in cheek. It's pretty funny to me, I enjoy the take of two people outside Star Trek fandom watching and commenting on it. If you want them to give it a rest you could also just take a break from watching their videos.
@@JP-rw1oh "If you don't like it don't watch it" is the laziest and least insightful way to avoid responding to a critique. I hope this channel gets huge for a time, then in 35 years a couple of punk kids find the whole thing and review their reviews by their modern standards and shit all over this sad example of "early 21st century youtube content." See how they like it, having their work torn apart by people who have no fucking clue and live in a different world.
@@kcottone This seems like a really bizarre response, I'll just leave you to your own devices. You've got a lot invested in this and I'm not going to engage any more.
I value the analysis. Like many, I've been stuck in the Trek bubble for decades and part of the humor is the bubble bursting.
I partially agree with you, recently I caught myself thinking that a lot of the recent reviews on this channel have quite a negative tone even though the episodes are nowhere near as bad as the ones from seasons 1 and 2 which deserve some harsh language and criticism, it's also a strange contrast when the guys speak sort of negatively the whole time and then they give the episode like A- or something, I'd expect way more appraisal for such grade...:) But I still enjoy these vids, I don't find myself as offended as you, it's just an entertainment, not some mainstream critique:)
