Smith really has been giving the people what they want. Quality products at an affordable price. Tons of options for most of their offerings. And they are an all American company. Tough to beat. Love my M&Ps.
50 years a 1911 man, owning 7, I finally broke down this last summer(June 2018) and purchased my first Tupperware gun, the full-size FDE w/manual safety. The thumb safety is not an issue for me as I am long used to using one. I am impressed with its smoothness and accuracy. The trigger will take me some getting used to, the long stroke hints of a double-action revolver though so much lighter in pull. Sweet as it is, like a new girl, I'll take her home, hold her, fire a few rounds in her, sleep with her by my side, but my heart still belongs to the 1911. ;-D
Words from my heart brother lol. I too recently broke down and got me a “Tupperware” pistol being a 1911 fan. Funny thing is those people that have told me I’d be better off with one haven’t held on a 1911 much while the 1911 lover will tinker to the polymer. Honestly I’m still a 1911 man. It didn’t convert me for edc. BUT. I do enjoy having to reload as much going to the shooting range and my wallet appreciates shooting 9mm over 45 lol.
Got the 5in 2.0 FDE when it first came out and it’s one of those pistols that just shoots well for me with minimal effort. Fantastic pistol all around.
This is my favorite shooter in my collection of pistols. The pistol performs better than my Sig P320, CZ P 10, Glock 19 and 17, and other popular pistols. I am not sure why the US military awarded Sig the contract the M&P 2.0 is far superior.
I love this particular pistol so much that I bought two. I left one in its stock configuration, while I had an apex trigger and Truglo sights installed in the other. I also removed the safety on the second. They are both sweet, sweet shooters, but I definitely prefer the latter.
Yeah for real... I just paid 460 for one. Happy though, worth every penny. Literally the best looking handgun I have ever owned!!! I just love holding it and pointing it at things. Between the texture and the grip getting thinking near the palms, you can’t beat it. I love my G41 Glock too, but the grip is more square and the gun moves around a little more.. not the S&W!!!
Just ordered one in a 40 cal from my local FFL. This will be my 3rd pistol from the m&p 2.0 line. Very reliable pistols. Very simple to operate and they go bang every single time without failure. 🙂
I got it for the same reason... just because I wanted one for a while. The $50 rebate sold me finally. Already have the standard length version. This longer FDE is just damn cool looking and the first one turned out to be my fav. striker pistol.
I just picked up a 2.0 Pro Series in .40 for 349. (with saved gift cards, cost me OOP about 30 bucks) and came with 4 magazines, a custom case, and aside from one slight blemish on the slide stop, it's barely used. Love this full size!
This was a solid review that was very entertaining. Your videos are great, from the production value to the funny script and the movie/tv clips come ot all comes together. Thanks for the work that you put in.
I've had a 2.0 5" FDE model for a little over a year now and really like it. Been thinking about getting a compact 2.0 to carry because I liked the full sized version I have so much.
Was looking at a Glock the other day and wound up holding this gun and man did it fit like a glove some might say I had a moment I will be buying one sooner than later
A few weeks ago I ordered and received two 17 round mags made for the 1.0, they fit my 2.0 like a glove, I got them for 24 bucks each with free shipping. I guess now with the Chinese Corona Virus all the deals like this are gone. By the way I have the identical pistol I bought 2 months ago and it's terrific, I have no complaints.
Chase Parker no not at all. Everything we do is dedicated molding. For us to add a firearm to our lineup it costs anywhere from $800-$1200. The demand for this specific model isn’t there. So it’s the exact opposite. We don’t want to lose money that’s why we don’t add makes/models that aren’t popular across our customer base. We track requests for firearms and once they reach a point that makes sense financially we add the model. This model unfortunately isn’t even close to that threshold. Thanks for checking out the video though. 👍🏼👊🏻
Run this for USPSA Limited. LOVE it. 11# recoil spring apex trigger kit and proctor MOD 1 sights make a pretty decent combo. And obviously while I had everything apart the safeties went away too.
Taking the TS out is a matter of punching out the rear frame pin and pulling the sear block up. The trigger actuator bar can be manipulated out of the way without damage. Frame plugs run $15 from S&W and the TS and detent all fall off the sear block.
I just bought one 3 days ago, mine has the safety and with the light trigger I'm glad it does, it's my first striker fired polymer frame pistol and the slide to frame is a little sloppier fit than my all metal Sigs,
Bought one last Friday and I love it, grip and trigger took a little getting used to since i came from carrying a smooth gripped Beretta 96 but even with a full mag this thing weighs less than the 96 empty and feels better balanced in my hands, definitely my new open carry pistol over my Beretta
Improve with Floyd’s Custom Shop’s Magazine extender in +2, +5, or just baseplate. Fits like a glove and finishes of the 2.0 nicely. Not bulky like most.
I have this 2.0 5” FDE....great gun IMO. Hated the safety so off it came. Agreed on the trigger though like Glock triggers more. Neither are great bud good enough. Love shooting it, it is a range and home defense gun. Still prefer my G34 however. Good review overall.
Dude, hate to bother you man but do you know if you can put the safety back on if you bought one without? I have the 40 cal 5 inch model, no safety. I understand it sucks for some people but I felt my friends 9mm version, and I liked it, i want to put one on but am unsure, and I dont know a lot of gun folks and cant find anything definitive on the internet.
I bought one very lightly used and got a safety delete block for pretty cheap... feels even better to me now... I hate thumb safeties on striker fired guns..
BAHHAHA i really enjoyed this video. first one iv seen from this channel and i will continue to watch them. good honest review with plenty of little tid bits of humor XD made my morning. thank you sir.
Only thing he did not mention, the front sight was upgraded from version 1.0 to have a much more thin steel most. Also the sights are tritium, so it’s night sights.
Yeah, it's the best longslide out there. I absolutely love mine. First M&P I've owned. I now have a S&W tattoo on my right hand..... and a M2.0 compact :D

This gun shoots so flat it's insane. Finally got to shoot mine today and I was surprised by how much better my aim was, or I should say how good the gun was 😅
I like mine a lot..and I like the thumb safety..if someone tried to grab my pistol out of the holster I wouldn't want to be grappling with it if I didn't have a safety..
FYI.............Regarding your problem with the magazine floor plates dislodging. I bought some spare mags for my FDE 5". I bought black ones because the FDE mags were hard AF to find and over $50 each when I did find them. Anyway.........the mags with the black floor plates have a totally different design. I'm guessing S&W is aware of the problem and snuck in a redesign.
I own this gun (FDE without the safety). It's solid. I wish they made FDE that had an optic ready rail. Gotta spend a lot more money just to get that done.
@TheGhost go to www.sportsmansoutdoorsuperstore .com and search "m&p 2.0" and snag one quick my guy! also get the rebate from smith and wessons website!
That's a badass deal. I just bought one brand new from grabAgun.com for $435.00 but I really want to buy the Apex trigger, and I want to replace the stock sights. So far I love the feel of it though. It was the first M&P pistol I've ever had.
You & D-Rock head to head using only that pistol. D-Rock won't complain about the magnums then. LOL You guys are great there, thanks for the video. Your friend in OREGON
I love this gun! I have the safety and it doesn’t bother me. If you’re uncomfortable with it just train more with it. Rob Ski “Enough with the bullshit talk...”
The gun is good, only thing i do not like is when it gets dirty it fails to lock the magazine to the rear. The detent on the slide lock makes it stick to the bottom when its dirty. Takes some deep cleaning to get it working again. Then after 500 rounds gets dirty and sticky again
Been shooting Glocks since 1988? or there abouts, When I bought a S&W &P 9mm, I was really ipressed. Don't have the 2.0 yet, but that is just around the bend. Very"shootable' pistol
Way to go Smith and Wesson they really stepped up with the 2.0 Siri I have four and couldn’t be happier and never had an issue with any of the guns and I shoot them LOL and the Smith and Wesson Performance Center there is no better look out Glock
Love my 2.0. Traded from a sigma 9ve and it’s a different animal. From trigger pull to accuracy. I’d like to know which light he’s got on there. Good video too.
It's definitely a interesting upgrade from the original. Also the fact the sights are more abuse tolerant gives it more hope as the first thing on most of my previous pistols I've damaged cheap sights multiple times in throwing it in a holster multiple times and very hard. I wish there was a comp market for smith's everything is made for glock smh
@@Foxhound_J give it time. The m&p series is relatively new when compared to the Glocks... any glock.

Apex flat trigger. Try one and you’ll get as close to a 1911 feel on Tupperware as you can.
@4:59 "Sig shooters are going to like it" very accurate statement right here. Love my M&P 2.0's and Sigs.
Got the 5in 2.0 FDE when it first came out and it’s one of those pistols that just shoots well for me with minimal effort. Fantastic pistol all around.
This is the BEST video on the m&0 2.0 5” with FDE finish. Please do a follow up update video!!!! Thank you.
The most enjoyable Donnie Wahlberg clip, since Band of Brothers; and a heck of a blaster, to feature. ❤️👍
