    Using a splitter reduces signal by 3.5 db - 1/2 your signal is lost. You also get losses through impedance mismatch. Typical airwaves antenna z is 300 ohm, CATV equipment is 75 ohm. I would get a better signal by licking my finger and sticking it into my ear.

    Might seem like a good idea and 10 points for trying this out, BUT given the 10dB tap loss on the 4 taps, you might have done way better just with folding the shield back and having the inner core exposed, thereby constructing a simple dipole antenna.

    Don't waste your time with this BS. By the time you use all of these small antennas welded to the splitter box. The amount of DB loss from the splitter and the small elements. You may get some local stations but this is not a powerful antenna by any means. You could probably buy a $20 piece of junk from Walmart that worked better. Nothing is free!

    This dose not make a multi element antenna if anything it would reduce the signal you would have got just hooking one antenna to the coax with no splitter the signals would not add up they would cancel each other being out of phase add multipath interfearance and a host of other negatives like impedance mismatching etc.
    Best thing to do with that is turn it upside down and say it's centipede art.

    This will never work. Unless I saw the video incorrectly, all the terminals and antennas are in the TAP = output and the cable from TV's input is connected to the splitter's input. That does not work. To make this effective, the IN needed a "source" another copper antenna or to be connected to an areal external antenna, and all the TAP needed to be linked (soldered) to the OUT effectively combining all the outputs into a "boosted" single output which will then be connected to the TV. This video is just a plain lie.

      @@andyhowlett2231 maybe you are right. But trust me it was not easy to get the setup to really work as good as it does. Of course there are some channels that are rubbish.lol. But the few OTA channels I do watch come in very good. If you look around people can find a good reasonably priced indoor antenna. The main reason I have an antenna hooked up is because I refuse to pay for OTA channels that are free. Cable makes a fortune charging people for OTA channels.

    Wow! Amazing! Some cheap parts, a soldering iron and the cable companies are out of business. Well there is the problem of physics. But perhaps in Morocco electromagnetic radiation follows different laws. If this passes for good technical advice in Morocco it goes a long way to explaining some third world problems. But maybe people who did not get a good education can be forgiven for posting the attaboy comments on Sat Pro's videos. But maybe they will read the comments and start to wonder and then begin to ask questions and then maybe even start to educate themselves. Maybe, perhaps, we can at least hope. Kudos to those who took the time to point out some of the flaws in this silly video.
    I would say more, but my Amazon delivery is here with the gas saving water injector, the 200 mile antenna booster, and a special plug that reduces the electric bill to zero. Then I have to reply to that letter from the Nigerian Minister of Finance.

    Where In The World There Still Is Analog Signal For A Tv? :D

  • @johnfoster535
    @johnfoster535 Před 2 lety +15

    Signal loss from each connector screwed together on input side of splitter....plus, signal loss from splitter itself. Better idea would be to unwind a thousand foot length of copper wire from the back of an old CRT TV tube, then, connect one end to the TVs antenna input center hole, while marching up to the roof with the other end. While standing in the center of the roof, gently insert the end of the wire deep inside the colon, passing through the anus , until a sharp pain is felt near the liver. Wait quietly for a thunderstorm to arrive to alleviate the pain permanently, while your family enjoys crisp 4K images below in your TV room !

    'Almost everything' can work as an antenna. But if you get the equipment and measure it, it's still just a crappy antenna. Look up the real, reasonable antenna designs and make an actual antenna and it will work even better with roughly the same effort.
    If you're going to do some DIY work, make a good antenna instead of a crap one.
