Your criticism of the sloping rear seats comprising boot shape, for example. Would you bring that up in a VW review? No chance.

@@scoopermg8226 I liked C4 Cactus, C4 Picasso, C3 Aircross, 3008, etc., so I wouldn't say my usual narrative with French cars is negative. I owned a French car for 12 years, and I generally liked it. It's not my fault the French seem to excel at making impractical vehicles. Which brings us to your VW reference - if only VW made impractical quirky cars, I would point that out too.

No, and you said it was a decent drive. I follow a number of car review channels some provide reviews that are always positive no matter what. Some focus purely on entertainment feeding into preconceptions and scoring easy jibes and asides for fun. Some seem balanced and professional giving good and bad and providing an unbiased review that adds real value (in my opinion) to a car buyer or someone who wants a genuine review. My reflection was that this review seemed different from the norm as I believe you fit into the latter style. The constant prodding of the door handles at the start of the review (I don't disagree that it's a gimmick some makers use) seemed to feed a frustration that never left. Just my opinion. I enjoy your channel but was just surprised at the 'style' of this review. It seemed different to the norm.

It's roughly 600 every year and when looking at current consumption of 7L/100km and 2500km every month, I spend roughly 350 EUR to buy diesel. Looking at newer petrol engines, let's say 6L/100km when cruising highway, that would be about 255 EUR a month. Tax for the 1.2 Puretech is 90 EUR every year. My Insignia is also approaching 150.000km so can assume more costs to follow. That's why I think it's interesting to look for something new :) I also really want to get a petrol, I chose diesel for the longer distances but still hate driving it. I liked the styling of the DS 3 but it just doesn't work for a 5-door car. A lot of the comments are also saying the doorhandles are easy and that you're overreacting. I disagree, your concerns about the doorhandles are valid. They add an extra step to a proces that really shouldn't be that complicated, and they'd probably be harder to use for emergency services if they need to free you if you get trapped in an accident.

A little film industry trick from a camera guy Marek, since you don't have enough "FILL" light to mitigate the bright light coming through the window, make sure you arrange the car so you are shooting into a darker background i.e. the forest behind you (with less sky) or a building. Now if you want to get fancier you can carry around ND6 or ND9 gel and tape it against the window. This will cut the light down coming through the window... obviously this isn't good for travelling shots.
Great video Marek, awful car. Citroen, please don't bring this to Canada. Make the old 2CV or the original DS. Now that would be retro cool.

Very negatively biased review. I do not own a DS, i am not an employee of them, and i am no fanboy, but it was very easy to see how this guy just wanted to slander that car on purpose. Perhaps it is an easy target to smear in order to pretend to be a harsh critic, but i bet he wouldn't dare act like this towards more popular german cars.... As for the car itself, it seems to be an awesome car for those people who would love a SMALL luxury crossover. Germans do not do small cars, except Opel and VW, with Opel being the same platform/drivetrain as the DS but with less luxury, and VW again, being less luxurious, especially in smaller offerings. If you are a city dweller or have to travel small twisty mountain roads often, yet still would like some luxury, this is a great option. But this reviewer never mentioned all those strengths, to whom the car would have been suitable. Instead he chose to just bash the door handles....
