2019 DS 3 Crossback Review - as cool as the old DS 3? New Motoring

- The old DS 3 hatchback was a bestseller, which means the new DS 3 Crossback has big shoes to fill. It's no longer a hatch but an SUV, which makes us wonder: is it still cool? Does it have the same appeal as the hatch? And will people still probably think of it as a Citroën?

Good review. I drive one and I have to say it's a great drive and just feels that little bit special. I was surprised to see the difference to an Audi A1 recently (a hire car) the quality in the DS3 was so much better. DS is really moving forward.
I’m waiting for my one to be delivered 😍
I have one of these and I absolutely love it!!
Nice! How long have you had it?
Snap, it's a great car and always gets positive comments when I give someone a lift.
Welcome back Sean. Nice looking DS3, strikingly different. :-)
Thanks Andrew! And thanks for the ongoing support. It's not a bad looking machine, it just has some rather big boots to fill...
@@newmotoring Indeed it has. Some lovely original DS3's on the used market too. Very elegant :-)
I realize Im kinda off topic but do anyone know of a good place to stream new movies online?
@Hector Marshall i use Flixzone. You can find it by googling :)
Great Video Review. One of my favourite SUVs
Thanks Jamie!
Another great review.
Thanks Ken!
Good, detailed review. What do I think of DS3 Crossover, over-priced but I suspect a healthy discount will be possible. My question is, is it quirky just for the sake of it or is it a clever and appealing design?
It's a thing of beauty and more practical that the 3 door hatch with which it shares it's name. Cabin quality is superb, and it certainly stands out from the myriad of small SUVs currently available. Just about to take delivery of one on a '19' plate.
Nice beard, great video!
Someone likes the beard! 🎉 Thanks, glad you enjoyed the vid 😊
Great car...I have one. Depreciates so quickly. The price tag is really hefty
Love this car, especially in the red!
DS did the right thing by lunching a DS3 Crossback, but I believe that a true DS3 replacement would be really nice. The DS3 has a real “premium” reputation and was really special.
It’s a shame the DS 3 hatch is no more. 😞
I cant wsit to get our new ds3 crossback xxx
I bought an ex-demo DS3 top of the range Ultra Prestige 'Opera' with 'even more extras' than all the safety toys known to mankind. I love it to bits. Of course, it's not as practical as my old Citroen C3 Picasso, which was simple and reliable and user friendly, but it didn't put a big smile on my face when driving, unlike the DS3. And that 550w
Definitely not for the same usage for sure!...
Love the English countryside!
It is rather beautiful 😊 When it isn’t raining...
From my point of view (and my only regret), this vehicle that is 4.12m long should have been set-up as a two doors, a bit like its predecessor. It's perfect for a couple with no children and the 155cv version responsiveness is great.
Thanks for the review!
I’m not 100% sold on the exterior I do like it but I don’t think it’ll age and it’s a bit fiddly, that said I’m about to buy on, the interior is better than anything in the price range and the electric motor is great
I like the interior and yet, I am not a fan of the shark fin in that odd spot, and the rear lights with chrome and not full LEDs are bland. DS is doing awesome. Also Cupra's all new from the ground up Formentor..! That is an excellent body design.
I like the DS brand, but 29k plus is far too expensive for what you're getting in my opinion. I also think it doesn't look particularly great, the shark fin just looks wrong on this crossover. They should have stuck with the hatch as there will always be demand for nice hatchbacks. I'm sure you could get a Qashqai or other equivalent keep at a high spec for that price.
Saying goodbye to the hatch is pretty difficult. It was far from perfect, but still a very likeable machine. But the hatch just wouldn’t work for what DS wants to do right now. What’s everyone buying right now? SUVs!
@@newmotoring yeah sadly everyone has copied America and buying oversized Jeep's that often don't have anymore space at the back than a standard hatch.
When I look at it more it actually looks more like a Nissan Juke?
I don’t think I have ever seen one of these on the road! Not quite as successful as the old DS3 I guess.
MY CATS PREFER PLAIN CRISPS TO FLAVOURED ONES
BUT ARE THEY AFRAID OF CUCUMBERS? THAT’S THE REAL QUESTION.
