Recently I read about the apple ad service called the Apple Search Ads. On top of it, in the $500bn industry of mobile advertising, apple has launched SKAN (a privacy first ad network) and ATT framework (it basically tells you where and how which app will track you). A good explanation for these would probably be online but what it has done is basically kick Meta (especially hurt after the ATT framework) and Google in the nuts in the iOS market and made Apple who is all of the platform, the advertiser and the publisher, a very big player in this field with tremendous profits

LOL. Facebook is working on making a LL model that works locally on android phones. One of these business models is going to work better than the other. An AI in the pocket is appealing. Apple is also focusing on Ad Revenue at all levels. This means the "Privacy" is actually just them blocking anyone else from selling ads on their platform.
lol yea the rest of big tech really did well with that Growth at all Costs mindset once pandemic restrictions were lifted. And bruh he talked about how Apple is still expanding into markets and gaining market share ffs
@@LogicallyAnswered ----- Actually you misunderstand what privacy means. Not unusual most people do. What Apple blocks is Facebook following the user all over the internet through the use of associated sites. That is at the user's discretion, if the user wants to be followed they can easily opt in. When you use an Apple device and run the Facebook app, then Facebook does have access to the data of what you're clicking on their site. However, that is simply how the internet works, nothing Apple can do about it. What was going on for years is that Facebook was keeping a dirty secret from users while sneakily following them everywhere, even if you deleted your Facebook account. The other piece is the way Apple uses the data. They don't store individual user identifiable data on their servers. Those bits of data are encrypted on the device whether iPhone, iPad, or Mac. This personalized data is in the Secure Enclave on the processor chip.
@tillmanadkins713 ----- Your first statement on monetization vs. growth sort of misunderstands the process. They have been growing in a very big way for a lot of years. Take a look at the yearly revenues for example over the last ten years, it has been growing steadily. If you look at active users of Apple devices, this stat has grown in a huge way over the last several years. They add around 150 million to 200 million net active users every year. Currently they have a total of 2 billion active devices. It's better to view it from a user standpoint. Each new feature that is added to the ecosystem makes the ecosystem more and more valuable to users. Some items are added by Apple such as the physical Apple stores. No one else in the industry has anything remotely close to that experience. But in fact, the new features don't even have to be added by Apple. There are millions of other companies that plug into the ecosystem and create everything imaginable from apps, services, accessories. That huge variety of third party advantages make the ecosystem into a strong network effect.
@@well7885 ---- Yes, Well7885 is right. They've been doing ads in the app stores for several years now. The key is Apple is very subtle about it. That is a huge key, to make ads a valuable service instead of assaulting users with a massive number of flashing garbage ads.
Your analysis very interesting. One point I don't agree is the comparison between the App Store (supposed) valuation with countries' GDP. A country's GDP is the measure of the value added created through the production of goods and services in a country **during a certain period**, whereas valuation is either momentarily or a accumulation of all values from the beginning up until a certain point in time. A comparison between Revenue and GDP would have been less incompatible. But even that is not really a good comparison since GDP only accounts for added value.
I've stuck with my android because because apple for my kid's ipads just pisses me off. I like android. It works for what I need and I don't see a reason to switch to a system that limits what I can customize.
The issue with Apple is no one *needs* them. Once their hardware sales drop, people will naturally stop using everything else of theirs. If Apple were to disappear tomorrow, aside from a few entertainment/arts industries no one else would notice. Compare that to Microsoft, which the world runs off of.
It’s very easy to think that way. But over a billion people(almost all extremely rich) in the world are completely engrossed in Apple ecosystem. Apple has created one of the strongest moats of any business by creating an extremely powerful rounded ecosystem and you will rarely see anyone leaving it. Once you are in, YOU ARE IN! There’s a reason why Warren Buffet’s 40% portfolio is just Apple because he knows that it’s here to stay for the next few decades easily
Because we are still in the phase where the big loved successful companies creating this technology still think and feel like they are leaders and even kings. They do not realize they serve society… not the other way around. It happens all the time in cycles throughout history. They grasp for power and create monopoly like systems and reliance… and in the name of “efficiency” they seek to become a “car payment”, “mortgage payment”, etc meaning they seek to create a reliance-cost abitrage. They make you love it. Then reduce outside options as much as possible. They then increase prices and say that their phones are not just to buy… that the actual phone is a service that should cost $1000 a year and more.

I am proudly Apple-Free, Facebook-Free and partially in Google. I trust Google more than Apple at any time. However, by that I mean none of them are good, I only think Google is still the lesser evil.
No, what apple does is that it FORCES you to buy a new phone whether you like it or not. Your 6S can be fine and still be functioning, however, apple will lock you out of the app store and force developers to only use the latest iOS (which ironically is becoming more and more vulnerable as they treat their workers like shit). They deliberately control a supply chain. Broke a screen? New phone! Need a battery? New Phone! Ironically apple engineers have made massive mistakes. If the mic becomes detached from the main board, iOS goes into a kernel panic rather than just displaying a message. Why? So you're forced to buy a new phone. So why is Apple some how better than the competition if its doing all of these things? Because the "competition" is worse! Much worse. Android isn't really opensource at this point. Samsung is far worse for right to repair and ownership than apple is. Meta and Google spy on you far more than even apple does. Yes apple too does spy on you, however, thats using apples own apps. They at least stop Meta from data mining. Its a very low bar set for them to be on top
Yeah. With Android, you can choose between an open-source, secure OS (GrapheneOS) and a repairable phone (FairPhone), because GrapheneOS is exclusively available on Pixels. Something interesting is you forgot to mention Apple has always really relied solely on one product. This has given them the unique advantage of being able to see what could improve there or what is close to being able to replace said technology and decide to just do it themselves before they can strike at Apple. In the 80s it was the mac by default because that was really the only thing apple made. However in the 90s they tried making different products such as the pipin and newton to diversify there lineup. ofc both failed because both were terrible. The Mac is still in use, because nothing really has, or really can fully replace PCS but it is the smallest part of Apples empire, as well, it was really never that big to begin with especially pre iphone. They've rarely in the 40 years MacOS has existed have had even double digit marketshare and developers greatly prefer Windows and Linux. In the 2000s it was the Ipod. The iPod was easily Apples most popular product and what really put Apple on the map starting everything we know today. Because of the Ipod, Apple was able to gain invaluable experience and reputation in the portable device market. But, for all its success, in a category that needed innovation, appealed to everyone, and wouldnt be changing anytime soon, The ipod ultimately only did one maybe 2 if your being generous (as movies on it would atleast be better than any phone at the time.) that other devices such as phones could replicate. Maybe not as well, not even satisfactory for years, but the threat was there and the fact the ipod could only do one thing was a genuine fear. So apple tried to make a Tablet that didn't require a stylus and accidently the iphone. From 2010 onward this has been what Apple has relied on. The video pretty much explains why. Now the Apple Vision will likely replace the iphone in the future as apple knows it can do the iphones main function, aswell as much more if not better as well as others the iphone cant really do given the opportunity. I think Apple will try to focus all there attention on the vision wont waste time giving it a sim card and potentially even the apple watches technology for the a similar vane found in the head. If it fails, they have the services as a fallback anyway and the iphone will remain unthreatened regardless because AR clearly isnt a replacement. If it succeeds, they could easily port all there services to the vision in addition to probably charging more as it would be fast growing market most the iphone users would be switching into after the the 2nd or 3rd iteration. They have figured it out
Looking forward to when the EU makes everything allowed on iPhones; it’s already happening with App Store etc. some might say Apple won’t bend the knee, but the market is too big for them to miss out on. 100% honest here haven't watched the video but judging from your past videos my question is: if apple is ripping off other businesses that would assume lower production costs and a lack of wanting to rip off customers, so where is my $50 iPhone? My $75 Mac book?
there is no such thing as rip off companies instead of customers, because all the money that companies have comes from customers, so if you take money from companies those companies will take it from customers by raising prices.
I really think Apple isn’t making enough profit yet. They still sell their iPhones with a free box, charging cable and screen. They should charge for these things separately.
"they've jacked up prices", to be fair, they were always more expensive than other companies. But not anymore. Samsung phones are now more expensive especially when you factor trade in prices. And even if you compare the prices within Apple, year over year, factoring inflation, most of Apple products have gone down in price. The cheapest ipad is cheaper and faster than before, and would put ANY laptop in the price range to shame in terms of performance, same with the Mac Mini.
I don't like apple products. They are so basic in their functions, although it's understandable given their user base is old people and tech illiterate people who just want the name as a fashion statement. The one thing I do love about Apple is how they push some technologies to mass market integration. HD screens, wireless headphones, watches, tablets etc. They didn't create any of these technologies or even improve them. What they did was give it companies a push in the pants to further these and that's why we are where we are now
Apple Music isn't a price discrepancy as you're not comparing apples to apples. Spotify is lossy music literally only 10% of the true recording information is preserved, whereas Apple is lossless.
@salvadorluna6453 That is a very common opinion, and maybe Apple is thinking, “heck, if nobody believes us, then we might as well go into advertising and drop the privacy thing”. But yeah, I can’t say I completely trust Apple either.
@salvadorluna6453 Atm, Apple does care much more about privacy. Switched from Android to iOS about 2 years ago and it became obvious to me that Android was tracking and exploiting everything that I did. Apple might track everything but the exploitation is nowhere near Android's...
I think it's going to be a lot more subtle than this. They're going to set themselves as a middleman for selling and serving personalized ads for Facebook, Google, etc. And OS level processes will disable adblocker effectiveness. They may also inject code into browsers to display ads on top of websites, like Google does with Chrome and Microsoft does with Edge. It's not going to be blatant ad integration. From the user's perspective it may not even be noticeable, aside from an uptick in personalized ads.
Google doesn't care what devices people use to access their services because one more customer is one more customer. They might only do this if they get into a situation where some of their most valuable services are threatened
Mostly. The majority of their products are well built, realiable and pretty durable if not handled like waste. But then there are also duds like that bra case for the big chungus Airpods Max, which look like they're the result of an engineer's toddler son scribbling all over the schematics
Apple started in the Ad business at around 2010 called iAd as an alternative to Google Adwords at the time, mainly because all the ads on apps at the time were using Google so they saw it as an opportunity to create their own ad service with a more user friendly approach and a better percentage to the developers
Hate apple products for being irreparable or hard to repair for being do expensive and they make themselves like that and call themselves a green company😅
people like to neglect the fact that iPhone privacy is in the whole other level for casual user. android can be as secured as apple but it require lots of tweaking while apple do it to the point where advance user feel annoyed due to its restriction. you have to realize, advance user are the minority here, so apple did the right thing
I’m literally one of those users who switched from Android to iPhone. Watching this very video on it. Why? Apple were the only ones to create a ‘flagship’ phone that wasn’t gigantic so I could use it easily with one hand. And didn’t have any obvious issues like the software issues with the Google Pixel. The phone manufacturers can blame themselves for only catering to people with larger hands or those who want a gigantic phone. And the thing is none of their offers are actually bad. Apple Music in reality has a far better offering than Spotify for sound quality. It has also screen quality and camera quality that is up there. It is really in reality the best complete package. Yes, other Android based phones in some aspects are better, but are often significantly worse in other factors. I have zero fanboism in this. Only objective observations and backed up by objective measurements.

Any Company the hyper focuses on monetize instead of growth is on a downward trend. They need to buy out other growth industries to diversify. I wish apple routers were still in production. The VR headset isn't ready yet and the field is still open for someone to make something that de-throwns apple.
I saw apple was trying to get chatGPT to pay to run their services on apple devices.
Very true about privacy haha
lol yea the rest of big tech really did well with that Growth at all Costs mindset once pandemic restrictions were lifted.
@@LogicallyAnsweredAdvertising and being privacy conscious is possible!
Problem with the ad platform, where do you show ads? If I purchase a 1.5k phone and I get ads I will just throw it away.
😂 probably the App Store and news app
@@LogicallyAnsweredThe App Store and News App already have advertisements
Don’t worry, We will never get an in system OS advertisements. The ads (if at all true) will only be inside the services (ad based tiers etc)
@@well7885 ---- Yes, Well7885 is right. They've been doing ads in the app stores for several years now. The key is Apple is very subtle about it. In fact they are so subtle that Logically Answered didn't even notice it and even mention it in an otherwise interesting video. That is a huge key, to make ads a valuable service instead of assaulting users with a massive number of flashing garbage ads.
@@LogicallyAnsweredIt appears you are less informed about Apple ads business and just basing your point on rumors.
I wouldn’t stop using apple. So not ALL people
Yeah Microsoft is definitely more stable. But I would discount the staying power of the iPhone that much either :)

i will die for my iphone!!! I would buy everything from Apple! Because Apple is my RELIGION!
At the end, i still dont understand, why paying so much for an iphone i am still forced to see ads on my iphone???

I think they can be turned off in Settings.
Although, that may just be the tracking.
@me-myself-i787 i didn't find how to turn them off. I found how to turn off personalized content but not entire ads...
I feel like more thought goes into getting Spotify or Apple Music than you gave credit for. Yes Apple Music is the brand name, but socially Spotify is definitely the mainstream. Only a few people I know use Apple Music and the only reason they use it is because of the superior audio quality.
Spotify is dominant worldwide because of the ad supported free tier. A lot of people in a lot of countries can't justify paying for streaming services.

CZcams has the best deal. No YT ads and music, very generous family plan.
I just bought a set of wired earbuds yesterday for $4, never needs charging and the signal doesn't cut out from interference from the motorcycle.
I hear you. I used to use wired headphones because they were better sound quality for a cheaper price. But my tendency to pull the cable and it’s own tendency to come undone when I’m moving ended up breaking them one by one.
That's why companies don't want you using them. A battery is a critical point of failure forcing the vast majority of customers to buy headphones again.
Won me a apple bundle last year. Won a iphone, mac book & ipad. Used them for about 6 months & put them back in box & now they're sitting in the back of my closet. Apple products aren't worth it to me.
Same I bought my iPad and Mac for college. MacBook Air was worth imo for notes, coding, and doing assignments at the library but the iPad now sits collecting dust I might sell it. Don’t see any need for any of their other products which have superior alternatives. Always had an iPhone my entire life but been staying with my phone for way longer and replacing battery instead of buying a new phone.
i switched to samsung 23 ultra boycotting apple from now. its like having a bmw that breaks all the time sucking all my money.
I use both Apple music AND Spotify on my iPhone. Simply because I like Spotifys recommendations better BUT Apple Music let me rip and store my entire CD collection on their servers included in the Apple Music prize. We have the Apple one family plan for the entire family too. Apples services are of course more integrated with each other and with Apple devices. So it makes sense to use them
I might be the only person to have switched to Galaxy and didn't look back. Moved from Apple Music to CZcams Music as its packed with YT Premium. iCloud is pure trash once you start using it and a shame of cloud storages
Since Apple adopted ARM, even if I ever leave iPhone, I don’t intend to leave Mac until there’s an equivalent ARM alternative.

Apple Music gets bundled with google/android products too. There's also windows users that use iTunes too, despite people not liking it.
Apples next move is to establish a World Wide network of its own, cutting out ALL ISPs and ALL cell phone providers
Sounds about right tbh although at that point it would probably be flagged as a monopoly
@@Kaiyats no, how could it be a monopoly, you can “choose” whatever provider you want, but other providers couldn’t provide world wide service EVERYWHERE at the same price you now pay a local provider, that’s the aim of Apple, believe it or not, but remember I told you about it

UE made Apple to allow third party app stores and third party payment platforms.

@@ganymedehedgehog371 if you never used any meta software and dont allow third party cookies, no they dont

Plus, the FairPhone is really expensive considering the outdated hardware.

They have figured it out
Yeah that’s why they’re taking away ‘Photo Stream’, so you have to buy iCloud storage rather than simply shared across devices.
"Rip off companies instead", it is more like "rip off companies as well".
And MICROSOFT is one of the biggest backers of CBDCs, if not the biggest.
Hey LA, discuss Microsoft's desire for monopoly too. This has been discussed in a hearing if remembered correctly. And they're just starting.

We’re did you get the dresses from😭♥️♥️ ?
there is no such thing as rip off companies instead of customers, because all the money that companies have comes from customers, so if you take money from companies those companies will take it from customers by raising prices.

This video came out RIGHT when Spotify hiked prices
I really think Apple isn’t making enough profit yet. They still sell their iPhones with a free box, charging cable and screen. They should charge for these things separately.
apple music sucks compared to spotify
"they've jacked up prices", to be fair, they were always more expensive than other companies. But not anymore. Samsung phones are now more expensive especially when you factor trade in prices. And even if you compare the prices within Apple, year over year, factoring inflation, most of Apple products have gone down in price. The cheapest ipad is cheaper and faster than before, and would put ANY laptop in the price range to shame in terms of performance, same with the Mac Mini.
And this was made before Apple Intelligence was introduced
If Apple goes into the advertising business, then they will drop their commitment to privacy. It’ll be a shame.
Apple never cared about privacy, Apple policy is Apple will track you but no one else should
fantastic video
A modern phone is sufficient to give us internet surfing, shoot photo and so on and on. What's more do you want?
Time to add APPLE to the Adblock list. F this giant!
The second there’s ADs on the Home Screen, I’m going back to Android.
Google should block CZcams on Apple phones...iphone will get reality check 😂
Google doesn't care what devices people use to access their services because one more customer is one more customer. They might only do this if they get into a situation where some of their most valuable services are threatened
This feels less smart on Apple's part, and more stupid on Google's.
If iphone sales peaked in 2015 why is it worth 3 trillion now???
I have a simple policy, boycott all Apple products which are usually massively overpriced anyway.
High prices, high margins, quality products
Mostly. The majority of their products are well built, realiable and pretty durable if not handled like waste. But then there are also duds like that bra case for the big chungus Airpods Max, which look like they're the result of an engineer's toddler son scribbling all over the schematics
Apple’s services are often superior, because it is their walled garden.
Their music streaming is better supported.
They f over competition.
Apple started in the Ad business at around 2010 called iAd as an alternative to Google Adwords at the time, mainly because all the ads on apps at the time were using Google so they saw it as an opportunity to create their own ad service with a more user friendly approach and a better percentage to the developers

people like to neglect the fact that iPhone privacy is in the whole other level for casual user. android can be as secured as apple but it require lots of tweaking while apple do it to the point where advance user feel annoyed due to its restriction. you have to realize, advance user are the minority here, so apple did the right thing
Apple is so great and nice video man :]
