  • Mike Di Nardo takes you for a ride on a 2022 Kingfisher 1825 Falcon.
    Boat as tested:
    2022 model year 1825 Falcon
    Yamaha F115LB
    19p Prop - aluminum
    2 adults
    50L of Gas.
The sporty characteristics of the Kingfisher hull design always gives us a thrill as we can wrap them around high speed corners and the boat just performs very well. This versatile fishing machine is a very functional aluminum boat that will easily fish the sheltered coastal waters as well as lakes.

Love that tight turn. Always been worried to go that tight in mine.

You'll give up before the boat does! Trick is trim down all the way (to bury the bow), start the turn, accelerate through and trim up on the exit

not a bad setup. I looked at the 1825 but ended up going with a Silver Streak Carmanh. I live on Vancouver island and the factory in Sooke isn't far from me. The kingfisher was value priced but the the shallower deadrise and wood floors were a deal breaker for me.
    With my Carmanah I got
    1) a welded aluminum floor (thicker aluminum overall)
    2) an offshore bracket/pod that extended the bottom hull
    3) fish locker
    4) bow anchor stand and chain locker that holds my chain an enough rode for halibut fishing
As mentioned deadrise is a big factor here if you plan to use a boat in the ocean. The hull on the 1825 is a bit shallow and slams. Otherwise its a nice boat for lakes and calm days near shore

Under a normal load - two people and basic gear with a Yamaha F115 she'll do just under 50. 47-49mph. The 2025 Falcon with the F150 is a bout the same. More power, but more hull in the water with the deeper deadrise.
