- Today we rate fans graffiti on a scale from 1-10. needless to say many of you guys are really amazing. Some of this graffiti is in the streets and that adds a layer of difficulty in there that i think needs to be considered when doing a rating video. graffiti is an awesome art form and we're really just here to have a good time with the ratings so don't take it too hard if you get a low number.

Love these! Appreciate the fact your critical with your scoring and not just give everyone 7+ like some Ive seen.
And if you want highlights on both sides to make something pop more, then just use two colours, one for each angle.
lol it can be hard, i totally understand why people would want to give 7+ because some viewers get bent out of shape about the number. it really puts some people into a rut, but hopefully my disclaimer at the start helps put their mind at ease.

Good content, solid ratings bro I gotta say these vids are pretty interesting and full of tips and tricks any writer new or old can apply to their art. When are you doing more of these i want to submit some of my work. Maybe consider separating blackbook submissions and actual street burners; a suggestion of course.. cause you brought up a really good point about being so strict on the critiques for tags/burners actually done on the street..so many different factors come into play that some leniency is due but also any writer knows that sometimes you accidentally add some extra flare on those street tags that add hella style points.

I always found if your a beginner at graff and have trouble practicing things like shapes and sizing then try and come up with a circle throwie a triangle throwie and a square one and as you practice drawing and painting them at random change the size up like all the time if you do this you basically are force learning shape basics and sizing and most of all what's pleasing to the eye.. when he sez practice the fundamentals it doesn't mean just draw circles like over and over lol well you could and you'd get boss at it but drawing on postal stickers and shape redundant throwie designs are the easiest way to practice without really feeling like your doing it

i should probably address that in a vid because the wildest thing happened. the classes required $300 to run for some back end scheduling app. long story short, my bank got emptied by a hacker literally the day after i spent the 300 so i had to refund the 300 so i wasnt dirt poor and my dads b day was the week following. the bank fixed the hack thing, i got my money, and got my dad a gift. i did the classes that were booked and that was it. i have to set it all back up and start over but yes im looking to bring them back.

i really wanna send some of mine, but its not really that good. I've been working on my tag and my throw up for a year, and only did 1 hollow, im not hitting the streets yet, until im older and learned my flow. ive done plenty of tags tho and i think my tag is perfect to me.

alright buddy understand i say this in the kindest way possible so don't take this wrong. All names are fine, the bad part of a name is the person using it. you're new to graffiti so NO NAME you pick is going to be easy, they're all going to be hard and you're going to mess up all of them because you're not good yet. You ran from one name because you found flow hard, well i got news for you, this new name isn't going to be any easier, in fact it's likely going to be harder. The whole point of graffiti is to learn the name, go through the struggles of messing up and mastering your name so you get that intimate knowledge of your name. Now here's the part i don't want you to take bad, but flow happens automatically if you keep it simple. basic print font literally flows on its own out of the box. this means the only time flow EVER gets messed up is if YOU messed it up by adding too much style and not knowing the basics. this is exactly why i ALWAYS repeat keep it simple practice the basics and people don't think im talking about them and i am. EVERYONE needs to do this EVERYONE, and make no mistake, you wont learn or get better , not to any reasonable degree until you keep it simple and practice the basics with ZERO STYLE. im talking basic print font, just like these letters you're reading right now, ZERO STYLE.

Unfortunately instagram is the only way. I used to accept e mail before but iv been hacked twice since doing that so I stopped opening emails all together

What happened to artist critiques
the breakdowns? i did one not to long ago. as for the critiques, those turned into me saying keep it simple practice the basics so i stopped

The highlights are coming from above.. why are you on about left and right? also the shadows are consistent with the highlights because they are on the bottom lmao. only thing going horizontal is the 3D which is also done well xd
There are too many contradictions for it coming from straight above. I'm even friends with the artist and they admitted and acknowledged this fact and iv actively helped him in dms since this video. So no, the light certainly isn't consistent and not coming from the top.
@@Theartistblock where is the light coming from then? upward facing sides of the 3d are lit across the entire piece, there are 0 highlights on bottom side edges, only shadows. the fill fades downwards from light to dark, the snake even has highlights on the top scales, and by the shadow on the snake behind it's neck the light source is clearly coming from in front of and above it's head, the only inconsistency i see with the lighting on the letters is some sides of the 3d near the middle and bottom shouldnt be lit if it was coming from above, but i can see why it would be painted that way to add depth in those areas (unless the light is more above the photographer and not so distant, then it might reach those areas)
@@gc1sheenes521 well thats the nature of a mistake isn't it, its the fact that since its inconsistent and incorrect, the light's direction isn't solid or defined. Let's also point out that if the light is above, and it's strong enough to light the left of the H and the left of the R then its strong enough to light the left of the A. If its strong enough to light the right of the A and the last letter then its strong enough to light the right of the first letter as some of the unlit angles match the lit angles. The snake is both bottom lit, and top lit. This isnt reflective light either as the light values are much stronger on the bottom in some areas, and as you pointed out, in other areas the snake is definitively lit from the top. that same lighting isnt applied to the graffiti at all. not to mention the fact that even if we ignore the double light source and consider only the top light, then the graffiti is missing tons and tons of highlights, as certain angles that are lit, are not consistently lit. You can see this in the extension on the way right, has a highlight on the right and shadow on the left. This is also ignoring how the 3D is shaded and lit in certain areas but then the structure doesn't reflect that kind of lighting due to a lack of either, care, effort, or understanding of occlusion and cast shadows (im going to say its the last two since i spoke to him about those topics specifically and we can clearly see he put in lots of effort). MAKE NO MISTAKE this piece is sick and really well done. When you're as good as him, your mistakes become really tiny and very minuscule so its not like these lighting mistakes are so abysmal to where he might as well not have done it but it is factually incorrect on many accounts. still looks sick though and is better lit than most graffiti artists work.

lol ya know, the adio volume has me stumped lol this has been bugging me for a while. ever since i got a new comp i cant seem to get it right, sometimes its too loud and sometimes too soft. i actually just downloaded a few of these songs per someone else's request and feedback, guess it wasn't a hit lol. ill take your feedback to heart and ill make changes for ya. thanks for the info man :D

I love hearing feedback for the vids so please don't let what I'm about to say stop you from letting me k ow your concerns in the future but the music isn't going anywhere. I'll try to find some new songs though as a compromise. Music helps the retention on vids a ton and retention is one of the most important things youtube looks at. Thanks for voicing your thoughts though dude, I'll make some changes in the future vids

@@mastaroshi23 ah I see your point, valid too, however, you see how you got ultra specific about my spelling, choice of words and phrasing, well I did too. You said "NONE of these are tags" and I rated two tags. Now I titled it that way for CTR ( youtube stat). If I dont have a compelling title then all my hard work editing is wasted so apologies for doing the youtube thing but dont put the noose on my neck for something you also did ( bad choice of words).
