Came from the dark field poor man's microscope video .. well done. I'd love to know how they mass produced transistors with all this complication (for the technology at the time)
i could not figure out where the third connection is made is it coming from the ground ? or maybe that little solder button right ? if its that solder part its not clearly visable if it connects with the second wire part or just hit the outside
third connection is through the bottom of the chip to the metal case. The third leg is attached directly to the case also. only two legs are separate and insulated from the metal case.
It is a TO18. TO92 are plastic. This is the metal can. sorry I called is 222 and not 2222 I know what is it, doing videos don't always let my mouth keep up.
This is absolutely amazing. Thanks for showing us this!!
Great !...cheers.

How is it those thin wires don't burn up? I just don't see how they can handle much current.
That single transistor is a single chip transistor. I didn't think it would be a single chip. I thought it would be a solid bit of silicone inside. 🙄
Very cool
Nice...
Would be interesting to see a transistor die under a SEM with Electron beam induced current and secondary electron image overlayed.
The depleation layer would be visible under ebic mode

amogus
Can you see it switching?
not with human eyes
Well, after you called it a 2n222 twice and said the TO 18 case was a TO 92 I gave up on this vid

@@IMSAIGuy OK I'm sorry too....I'll go back and watch...looks like an interesting video
