Black Beauty Tomato Harvest and Comparison

- In this video I harvest our 1st black beauty tomato from the garden. Plants were grown by us from seed we purchased from @bakercreekheirloomseedcomp8380. During the video I also compare this variety to a couple other varieties of tomato we have planted in the garden.

I finally planted some of these with my family a few months ago, and we finally have a few tomatoes coming out. They're still very green, but on only one there's a small line of almost purple. And it's so exciting. I can't wait to see how they come out!
They will slowly turn darker as they grow. Remember to watch the bottom of the fruit to turn red. Once the bottom is red, the tomato is ripe. Hoping you have a bountiful harvest!

You must have good grocery stores if you say the ones there are a burst of sweetness. Not the same everywhere... tomatoes from the store usually are pretty tasteless thats why we grow them.
Sometimes the grocery store has packs of multi colored cherry tomatoes that are really sweet. I like tomatoes with a stronger "tomato" flavor myself. Its hard to describe but fresh tomatoes off the vine don't taste as sweet, but they are much more flavorful.
Ive got some starts going indoors! Getting a bed ready tomorrow and planting them soon. What size fabric pots are those in?

The color from the black beauty is dictated by how much Sun they get. The more sun they get…the darker they get
Yep. These plants were in full sun. Depending on how much foliage coverage was around the fruit it did seem to impact the depth of color. But even some of the fruit in total sunshine still had a bit of pink/red at the bottom. Overall still a very beautiful fruit though.

I'm don't have any more seeds right now. We used all of our seeds this spring. You may be able to order them online though. Several seed companies have black beauty seeds.
