- Fishing the south shore of Long Island in search of a big fluke (summer flounder). Jigging without Gulp! while Nate opts for the old faithful. Both caught fish exceptionally well. Nate for sure had more action but I did keep up jigging with traditional style plastics for fluke.

I was fishing Fort Eustis in Va. one day and this old dude thought he was snagged up in grass, and he was but also the biggest Fluke or flounder I ever saw in my life. I'm guessing over 10. I never got one over 5. Good job there Elias. Like you, I like to do my own thing, screw fishing guides.
Every fluke i've caught on an elias shad has been keeper-sized! Last year it was the only bait I used. Only downside was the bluefish.

Also not sure if this is first Fuego reel. I have one...and agree, it is super smooth (retrieve and drag). I did have some issues within a couple months of it having a sticking point. Shop I bought it from replaced it and the new one developed same issue. I rinse them and try to not be too harsh but was surely disapointed. I figured out that removing the handle and oiling up the shaft and other areas around that opening cured the issue. I'm now hitting that spot with oil or some other lubricant every week to make sure it does not happen.
Shallow water flounder fishing when they are hungry and thick is probably my favorite as well, aside from running into some huge largemouth on the river. Easy fun fishing.

My old haunts when I had a boat and launched out of Captree. I now have a new 120 pdl and would love hitting that area once again. Boat traffic on the weekends can get nuts though so during the week is what I’m shooting for. Great video …

Elias your fishing my neck of the woods and i can tell you , you did great buddy flukes 24 inch plus and a really nice weakfish thats a homerun !! Great video way to grind it out !!!
Just looked at the NY fluke regs. May - October, 3 fish per day. Split season on size. 19 inches, then 19.5 inches. Sounds nice.....

Some doormats have been pulled out of J-bay this season so far, definitely not as much action as you were seeing there though.
Flounder are one fish i have a hard time figuring out. It seems like i only catch them when im fishing for something else

Curious about the structure you were fishing, I know there was some concrete was the rest ledges? Do you even bother fishing dirty water at all had a lot of dw (NJ backwater) lately very frustrating, think I'm wasting my time. Love the videos.
