You have given me so much inspiration to get into baitmaking that now I have been making my own. And hopefully within the next year or I will open up a local small business.
The science of the drop get a ruler cut to fit the tank then put a camera to in the tank to record the drop. You can then show how fast your sink per second is.
have you considered using miniature painting techniques on your baits? e.g. washes and drybrushing? it would make the more complicated sections like the gills really stand out.

The bars on the Muskie bait reminded me of a digital camo pattern. I think a bait in that style would be very cool, however it would probably be very difficult to do.
